I agree.. There need to be more mustaches for space marines.

And yes it was another chaos helmet. I got a bunch of the old khorne berserker T helmets printed and snipped off the bunny ears.

Here's a gold test, I used a gold primer from color forge. The washed with dark oath flesh, drybrushed with a gold dry paint from citadel. Metal parts done with canoptek. Then mithril silver highlights and some areas of reikland. It doesn't take super long to do but want to see if it's doable for a box of custodes.

Some more sword brethren, I'm not sure what Im doing with the main guys sword. But I'll mess around with it. The intent was to practice glazing but it's not like it's NMM.

Edit: also as cool as the kit is I kinda hate the fact the capes wrap around to the shoulder. It limits posing and magnetization by a lot. I could probably work around it but would be way more effort.

OK I have had way too much fun painting these guys, did I do OK? As it turns out, the citadel dry gold paint is useful. But not sure if I need to seal it in with a matte coat.

It's a nice gold tone.

I don't see why you'd need to seal the GW Dry paint with varnish - it's still paint. Having said that, if you're handling them, varnish will help increase the durability of the finish (you probably want a gloss varnish for the metalwork though)

Yeah, the reason I asked is so. Times in other modeling where you use something like a weathering powder you do need to seal it in because it'll come off very easily. But since this is just like a drier paint it should be fine.

Also banner guy done (forgot the name lol

Did some oyumaru tests

Did the space marine corpses with baking clay. The others are GS+milliput

The custodes shield doesn't have a back to it, I figured it can be a vehicle or building decoration
