sitnam
Since I have a WIP thread, may as well have a HoH thread for completed stuff Kroot are fun to paint Spoiler Edited June 3 by sitnam StormbolterAndChainfist, dees, Shinespider and 9 others 9 3 Back to top
Firedrake Cordova
They are very characterful, aren't they? sitnam 1 Back to top
sitnam
The old Kroot Carnivores were such a great kit with tons of bits and posing, and these really just expand off that with tons of great details. The head variety alone is fantastic Firedrake Cordova 1 Back to top
sitnam
I didn’t finish them all I time for Orktober, but I did finally complete my small Ork pledge Spoiler Dr_Ruminahui, MithrilForge, deathspectersgt7 and 1 other 4 Back to top
sitnam
I finished my first squad of Nurgle traitor guard. I’m not super happy with the basing, which was supposed to be a sewer/acid base. I am quite proud with the rest though. Still debating whether I want to take the other BSF squad and convert them too Spoiler Firedrake Cordova, deathspectersgt7 and Dr_Ruminahui 3 Back to top
Firedrake Cordova
The replacement heads are really distinctive sitnam 1 Back to top
Dr_Ruminahui
Yeah, those heads look great - I especially like the one with the hat on who I assume is the squad leader. I also think you've done a great job of getting a range of greens, browns and yellows on the models, making them distinctively nurgle without being overwhelmingly green, which makes them more visually interesting. I think the bases are very well done - just perhaps not the best fit for these minis. Being quite bright and of the same or similar colours to the minis, I think for these models they draw focus away from the minis and kind of wash them out. I think they would be great with minis whose colours they contrast with, perhaps with some OSL (aka indirect lighting effect) on the legs - but here I think a darker or less green base would serve the minis better. sitnam 1 Back to top
sitnam
Thank you both for the kind words, and thank you for the advice on the bases @Dr_Ruminahui. I’ll keep it mind for the next Nurgle models I complete. I feel like your reasoning is correct, it’s too similar to my current pallet on the minis themselves Edited December 15, 2023 by sitnam Dr_Ruminahui 1 Back to top
sitnam
I have completed a few Nurgle champions for the Drones of Diomedes, a Master of Executions and a Tallyman Spoiler I’m not super happy with the skin on the Tallymans head, but I quite like how the flayed skin came out Firedrake Cordova and OpossumStrong 2 Back to top
Firedrake Cordova
The flayed skin came out well, like you said, and the skin on the little nurgling on the base looks appropriately disgusting sitnam 1 Back to top
Dr_Ruminahui
I like the head swaps - the one on the MOE is particularly effective in helping tie the "generic chaos" model into your nurgle army. sitnam and Firedrake Cordova 1 1 Back to top

I have my son to thank for those choices. I wasn’t sure about that Possessed head on the Tallyman, but I think it worked out well. sitnam
Finished up the rival Beastmen of my small Nurgle warband Spoiler I attempted a basing similar to my Nurgle traitor guard, but as a muddy toxic swamp. sitnam
I have finally made the choice to get a light box. I don’t think my pics are great but I’m trying to figure it out. Firedrake Cordova
I think you might want to nudge the exposure up a little - it seems to be exposing for the white background, leaving the models slightly dark? sitnam and MithrilForge 1 1 Back to top

I’ll definitely be trying that. sitnam
Completed the first part of the Kroot box, which is also part of my challenge for the Iron Gauntlet. Spoiler Very fun models to paint, though some of the extra detail can get annoying. I did 11 because I tested one out with a Death Guard Green Spray instead of Grey Seer. I’ll likely do the rest of the Kroot in the same way, it makes it easy not having to get the miscellaneous nooks and crannies, but it doesn’t affect the tone of some of my contrast paints. i hope these pictures come out better, I adjusted the brightness a bit more this time around Dr_Ruminahui, OpossumStrong, Stef Coudou and 1 other 4 Back to top

ThePenitentOne
Congratulations on Gauntlet Challenge II. I think I'll have my kill team done by the end of the weekend. I have seven models after that as a stretch goal. The Blue Beaks look great, and I love the shaper's camo quill cloak. You've got quite a jump on Challenge III.
