They've said on stream that you'll be able to mix in different Aspect Warriors to the actual Kill Team, even though they box just has Striking Scorpions.

Raven Guard Scouts for prosperity, but I'm pretty sure there's nothing new in here.

Rather than a big box of terrain, you just get some scatter this time.

Kill Zone Bheta-Decima will be it's own, standalone release. Board is double sided.

Scorpions look quite nice, did they have to have so many tactical rocks though? With only five uniques they're going to stand out if you get a lot of them. -.-

Terrain is utterly useless. Empty, all lines of sight, no scatter cover at all. And the board side locks you into that horrible salmon color.

Scouts are very welcome, happy to see Scorpions come out.

I really doubt eldar would have such nonsense in their weapon design...

Chainswords are nonsense in the first place?

I'm excited though, obviously... Only had to wait 17 years to get these in plastic.

Cheers,

The Good Doctor.

I'm hoping we get a two week window to order these and there is plenty of stock as I'd genuinely buy several copies of this. It sucks having to wait months for the single box releases because the scalpers got most of them.

The Aspect Warriors unit sounds really interesting as well, I may take a bash at Kill Team with those.

I like the idea of smaller kill team boxes with separate terrain - assuming the cost is appropriately lower. Did they take feedback from Gallowfall?

I'm not that keen on the Scorpions, at least not the open-faced helms. Not a fan on the yellow 'laces' on the box-scheme either but that is easily remedied.

I think I'll try and pick these up but I bet they don't hang around as long as the Heresy Battle Group  (still available on the GW UK site at time of typing ).

For prices we can look at the latest WarCry releases. The terrain might be different as is seems there is more in here than the Warcry box but the actual VS box should be similar.

The Warcry boxes are £80 for the VS box and £67.50 for the terrain box

I like the Scorpions overall, but yeah the open-face helmets really don't do it for me. Same for the "everyone has a tactical rock" nonsense.

To be fair, the yellow has been part of the official Striking Scorpions colour scheme for a long time, but it's just a paint job anyway, like you said.

Scorpions getting a plastic kit is long overdue, but where is Karandras? Both the Banshees and Dark Reapers launched alongside their Phoenix Lord, why not the Scorpions?

Guessing he will come with the codex release

Because there's no opening for him till the Eldar 10th codex drops. That's when you'll get him I bet, unless they're saving him for the end of 10th narrative campaign.

I wonder how the Striking Scorpions will be priced when released on their own. If its a 5 man squad its gonna make them look really expensive next to all the ten man Kill Teams (and make any Kill Team box quite likely a bargain), and if its a ten man squad its gonna make Howling Banshees look even more expensive than they already do

Edit: thinking about it more - I bet the reason they have no specialists is just because they don't want to have to realise them as a kill team box

I like this release, I can use the scouts and scorpions, and the terrain looks cool. Two or three packs of it could make for a great 40k board too.

I really like the look of the scouts too. A huge improvement.

They have 4 more Phoenix Lords to do. More if they decide to introduce the Phoenix Lords for the Warp Spiders, Shining Spears or Crimson Hunters. Their current rate of one an edition means that we'll be seeing Karandras in 10th, then Asurman, Baharroth & Fuegan will be 11th, 12th & 13th. Or, in other words, at the current rate of release, we will see all the Phoneix Lords in plastic by 2040, almost 50 years since they were initially released.

All that is a long way of saying they better not save Karandras for the end of 10th narrative campaign, but instead get him out with the Codex and then release a second Phoneix Lord in the narrative campaign. Especially if they also intend to update Prince Yriel & Illic Nightspear at some point.

In fact, they need to get their arse in gear and extend an increase in releases to all races with a substantial number of named characters that have ancient sculpts, otherwise it'll be another decade or two before we see them all.

why the warp is the "exposed half top part" of chainswords suddenly a trend? I really doubt eldar would have such nonsense in their weapon design...

Sharpened top of the back edge is reasonably common even on single edge swords

For a KT games this terrain looks like it is, indeed, quite questionable. Anyway, if we make an abstraction from the KT context and the odd colour selection, It is still a nice revival for Sector mechanicus, bringing larger gantries, set at intermedium height level... The machinery also is nice, but shall it deserve a buy? In KT context sure but for use in other 40k games...

I was tinking about getting some STCs bunkers and dish antena from the current kits (which are  already showing slowly as None Available on the website), but I will instead keep my money for this set, just to expand the posibilities of the Sector Mechanicum I already have.

As a side question: can a scout jump or swim? Because I hardly see other options there to reach some lone gantries...
