The datasheet and options are all the same so whatever models you decide to use - old or new - its all functionally the same. I suppose you could technically mix the old and new kits into squads if you want, though for my part I don't want to see the older, smaller terminators standing next to my new guys ever. A mix, Terminator armour can be used by both Firstborn and Primaris Marines. In the future? Considering that there are only a handful of remaining Firstborn units it's a matter of time before everything is Primaris, at which point Terminators will only be Primaris as well.
