I don't know whether we left before or after the garrison going kaboom... so I don't know whether to post:

a: Elvrit's satisfaction at having achieved something useful.

or b: his dissatisfaction at having to leave the system without knowing whether we accomplished anything at all.

Other than that, our ship is apparently in as good a position as we can get it without a dockyard, so there isn't much else to think about? I guess Elvrit would be spending the days in the training cages...?

Apologies BC, I've been focusing on getting Murderers finished this week, so I've not been able to look properly at our options.

My first instinct would be to check out the star galleon, just cos it sounds kinda cool... but I don't really know what our objective is in this system...?

Anyone else have any preference of the planets to look at?

Is there something else I should be doing to keep this moving?  my last several updates don't seem to have gotten players to respond much.

This is probably a me issue in that I am used to more structured games then this open-ended set up, but at times I feel like I could do with a little more guidance as to what my character can do and or is expected to do in any particular situation.

For example the recent update that the ship is as repaired as it can be short of orbital facilities was great to know, but as we were not heading for the forgeworld system I wasn’t sure what to make of it other than file it away for the future.

Will try to respond more, even if I a am little unsure (instead of waiting to see what others post in such situations).

I'm not clear on the size and armament of a Star Galleon compared to our Sword Frigate, but I'm assuming from Nuzry that we are outmatched?

I still think we could approach them openly (but still cautiously), if they haven't been in Imperial space for 80 years, they aren't traitors?

Well... they aren't traitors following Horus, at least...

Should we vox them and find out who they are?

This is just the beginning of the Age of Darkness and the Great Crusade.

A Rogue Trader who hasn't been heard of for 80 years. That's the Unification Wars era.

The Letter of Marque is probably signed by the Emperor himself.

The Rogue Trader would have been a Warlord sent out into the Stars. To be gotten rid of or be forgotten.

Little confused here.

Isstvan 3 is in 005.M31

Unification Wars ends in the early to mid 700s and Great Crusade is launched 798.M30 so all in all a smidgen over 200 years before Isstvan. So if they have been out of contact for 80 years then they would have been late mid crusade (before say Monarchia debacle) but well after all the Primarchs where found.

Star Galleons are cruiser sized ships that aren't optimized for line combat.  But they are still cruisers mounting some cruiser grade weapons.

I'm not sure if there is anything else to say to the RT?

Obviously, I'm up for having a nose through whatever (Mechanicum-approved) archeotech gear/weapons they might have 'obtained'.

But other than that, if they aren't willing to join the fight, I can't see that we are going to try and force them? I'd say we ask/advise them to make for Terra and carry a warning with them, but again I can't see any way to force them to do so?

(If they don't want to, they can just pretend to agree with us and then once we've gone, they'll go back to doing their own thing!)

If that is the case, are we done here? Should we leave and move on towards helping out the Arbites over the feudal world? (Again, after we've picked over whatever fancy kit the RT might have to offer)

Interesting, do we have FFG statlines for Ion Pistol and Power Blade?

I'm assuming that they aren't so obviously xenos in appearance that we'd turn them down? As I understand it, even in 40k there is still a connection between Human and Votann tech?
