I am interested in the single special marine, so, I am glad this combat patrol finaly has some news and moving forward.

Any ideia on which issue it comes with?

If it follows previous magazines it will be issue 5 for the magazine specific model

Shame this isn't something you can get in Canada. not that I know of. never heard of it here. while it's true I wouldn't need all those models I would still like to get them and paint them anyways. seems really cool and a good discount.

With the last one you could sub from the ‘merican distributor and they would ship to canada.

The french version is usually distributed directly by hachette in canada as well

I am still tempted to subscribe but will be pre-ordering extras of issues one and five to stock up on nice models to base conversions around.

But I am tempted to dip my toes into nids by getting enough Von Ryan's Leapers to field the combat patrol from White Dwarf. Combat Patrol as a game mode has issues but Lictors are cool...

Hope Fauxhammer keeps getting the advanced info. Need to plan out when I'm purchasing all the cadians and FOBs I need for an Imperialis Militia army while resisting picking up a lot of Khorne Berzerkers to start a joint 30k/40k World Eaters army.

These magazines really don't help my hobby butterfly tendencies!

Was about to order form FP and then saw the postage had gone up to £10.99 and it isnt recalulating at checkout either.

Seems to be that they will charge £5.99 for the delivery plus 2 lots of £2.50 as it would be in multiple shipments.

Making me reconsider my order now and wondering about chancing just going instore at release as it is more a 'nice to have' than need for these earlier releases for me. Particularly as they seem to have dropped the saving per magazine too.
Not sure if this is a new thing but certainly makes FP less than ideal for pre-ordering anything if they are going to add so much extra on.

Not sure if anyone has posted this before, apologies if they have. Hachette's site is up for ordering but no issues actually showing yet (no direct link from their main page either)
Warhammer 40,000: Combat Patrol | Hachette Partworks

I am not sure about this from the site
"Take command of elite armies in the grim darkness of the far future with Warhammer 40,000: Combat Patrol. Build armies of stunning miniatures, paint them up and learn how to use them in battle, with every 20 issues bringing you a complete, game-ready Combat Patrol force."

A combat patrol every 20 issues doesnt seem right - isnt it 9 patrols over 80 issues and that includes extra models too? Only thing I can think is they will be mixing it up for release order/combat patrol

It was a special infiltrate themed kid cp that had 9 von Ryan's leapers in it, 1 Neurolictor and 1 normal lictor.

Really, unless you had the models already, it'd be pretty expensive (more than the normal cp at 3rd party prices...unless eBay gave you some luck) to buy but at the same time, looks interesting to play.

Oh I did not know this. Where do I find this? Is there a website, a little confused on how this works

Edit: Been trying to do some googling but no luck.

Took some looking, but here is the link to the US site

https://usa.warhammercombatpatrol.com/

It's pre-reg right now, but should be a starting point.

Yeah, FP changed their postage earlier this year, it's waaaaay more expensive than used to be and I've not bought a number of Stormbringer issues I planned to since the change as not been worth it.

I've just ordered an issue 2 and the UK postage was £2.30? Some playing around had it at £4 for two issues and £5.99 for 3+

Should you just want one issue.

Same thing. A copy each of 1/2/5 and I was looking at a tenner in postage. Also just going to find somewhere local selling it and take the chance, or pick up online where I can. Postage being a third of the order doesn't interest me much!

Forbidden Planet Shipping costs:

Shipping rates for UK customers are calculated in the cart and checkout stages and are usually as follows:

UK Orders    Cost
Up to £4.99    £2.55
£5.00 - £9.99    £3.50
£10.00 - £14.99    £4.00
£15.00 - £19.99    £4.99
Over £20.00    £5.99
Over £200.00    £15.00
If we expect to send out your order in multiple shipments we will calculate the number of shipments required to fulfil your order during checkout, based on the pre-order dates of the items in that order. A flat rate of £2.50 per shipment will be added to the above rates based on the total value of your order. For example if you ordered two comics with a combined value of £6.60, with release dates a month apart, the shipping cost would be calculated at £3.50 (the base cost based on the order value) plus £2.50 (for the additional shipment) for a total shipping cost of £12.60.

If you have ordered several products, and we despatch those products separately, we will count the value of each despatch as a separate item and post it accordingly. We will charge you the full amount for the shipping on the first despatch. You will receive an email for each individual shipment if your items are sent separately, listing which items are being shipped out to you.

If you choose to cancel items after placing your order please note that postage will not automatically be recalculated for your order (as it may already have been charged). In this instance if you would like your postage costs checked and re-calculated please contact us.

Please note some items may incur a higher shipping cost regardless of their value as they need to be shipped by courier due to their size and/or weight (e.g. comic boxes).

My order of 2x Issue 1 + 1x Issue 5 cost £7.49.
So that would be £15.49 total order = £4.99 for fulfilment, + the £2.50 (bolded in text above) added for extra delivery making the £7.49 total. Will still be cheaper than buying them seperately from FP, but if you can get a newsagents to stock/order for you, then I'd suggest that's the best way.  My local doesn't, and my "local" WH Smith either doesn't have them, or one that does is a trip to get to.

I suspect they were hammered by delivery costs, especially if sending out seperate issues (not just GW related stuff it should be noted) under the single delivery order or some such. Not that it matters, they're probably covering themselves for delivery costs so they're not loosing out.

I would much rather that they delay the order post all together. I appreciate this is more logistics on their part and also storage for them. I do get too that they are probably just trying to actually manage their costs by doing this as it must cost them quite a bit more when the likes of us descend and pre order loads of stuff and hit the basic max limit.
Just a bit rubbish for us vs what was there before.

I may even have to consider going back to Hachette direct and ordering - postage wasnt cheap but scaled better than this iirc

I think there was an Isle of Wight (?) based place too I used to get some ATV issues a while back that someone recommended buymagsdirect or something like that
