Sharp eyes caught the trinkets and trophies, a practice that had never been favoured amongst the scorpions for even the smallest trace of taint could spread over time.

Says Omoc who's armour pic in Characters is blinged up like a Christmas Tree.

Strange double post edit

Asterius: 'We're no Orks!'

Everyone else: *Trying to act civilised*

Azadth: *Takes helmet off, picks nose, shows it to Alda to gross her out, flicks the emerald nectar at a painting of Kali'Nath*

Also Azadth: 'No, not Orks. What do you take us for? Tea?'

So, does anyone want to agree or disagree with Omoc? I know we have a few zealous types who probably will agree with the Scorpion, but there are also some more pragmatic/lateral thinkers in the team?

I will say it is kinda time sensitive to get back to Alucar. However, it's totally up to you if you choose to take your own ships home, rather than take the Eldar up on their offer… though it will likely change the course/outcome of the story a fair bit?

In case anybody was wondering, I failed my preemptive doge rolle (d100: 72 vers Ag:41) for a bolt shell to the head.

Alda is now, by the definition of a Purittan Inquisitor, a Radical and Heretic.

Well aware I might just be spectating from here.

It is the nature of the Deathwatch to use the works of the xenos against the xenos and other enemies of the Imperium - much in the same way that Omoc could accept (barely) using deceit rather than violence to gather intel first and kill the orks second.

But he sees it as a one way street, at most a persecution delayed until the Deathwatch sees fit and certainly never a step in service to the xenos. No less so after recent events where the cost of such bargaining was made plain.

The Puritan Radical divide, and the Puritan stance against Radical I always thought was understandable in the Order Malleus on account of how Chaos corrupts, but for the other orders less so.

Aside from Wrap or Psyker connected things (and therefore the chance of Chaos) using a Kroot Rifle or an Ork Vehicle or what not is not going to corrupt the user.  Any breaking with the Imperium that result was not because of the use of Xenos thing (or talk with, trade, aliance etc) but a changing of mind based on individual circumstance.

Even a genesteeler infestation is not the same kind of corruption as chaos (though in that case the affected certainly is no longer for the imperium).

The Puritan mindset however is easy to cling to in the xenophobic and humanity is the pinnacle of creation culture of the Imperium.

Anyway enough nattering from me, Alda has, for good or ill, taken that first step on the Radical Path.

The Credo of Enlightenment for Survival.

Killing an alien with thier own guns causes confusion, obfuscation and saves the Sky-Khan's good ammunition.

And you can thank/blame @Necronaut for this bit. It wasn't originally part of the plan, but I think in the first week of the game he pointed out something I'd done (totally unintentionally) and I was inspired to add it into the story!

Oh, what was that?

Alucar IV. If we use the most basic of alphanumeric cyphers, IV = 4 = D. Alucar becomes Alucard becomes planet Dracula, backwards. Our GM insists this was mere coincidence, but where he sees coincidence, I see providence.

Yup, I swear to God that I hadn't seen it until Necro said it! I think, if I remember it right, alucar has some sort of Latin meaning 'to light' or something, which is why I chose it for the Lightbringers' (Lucifer) home base. IV was just a random planet number choice!

But once he mentioned it I knew I'd have to include it in the story somehow!

Edit: Providence, possibly, but not by me. The game has a life of its own!

Also, just to answer Tro's IC post, as far as I know, Sha'eil is the Eldar word for the Warp/Chaos... though I could have that wrong...? If anyone knows their Eldar lexicon better than me, please feel free to point out a better word for Tarvathel to use!

IIRC

I posted this right at the start of the adventure.

Aha, I thought I remembered someone else spotting it too! But I couldn't find the post (to be fair I wasn't looking super hard for it...) and I knew that Necro had PM'd me about it.

So I have been extra blind... anybody got any bionic eye I could aquire.

OOC: Well, I think that's as much as you're going to get out of him. Still feel free to post as you wish, but to get ready for Friday's update, could everyone maybe just give a vote of ‘yea’ or ‘nay’ on going with the Eldar, so I can see which way the majority want to go?

Alda is a yea, and also if it matters a yea on going dark/not letting the shutle/ship know what is goign on etc in case of further infiltration.

Interesting indeed... it's potentially a pretty tight decision! So far we have got:

Yea (go with the Eldar):

Azadth

Alda

Moridyn

Gerhardt

Nay (return to the Supremacy):

Zidemi

Undecided - Some of these I think(?) I know which way they want to go, but I don't want to assume:

Omoc

Asterius

Vafri

Gerhardt

Edited by Lysimachus

Gerhardt has bought the ticket, so he'll take the ride. All aboard the crazy train choo choo!*

* - we should stock up on numerous melta bombs and leave our eldari ferrymen a nice parting gift.

Omocs decision would be based primarily on the oath. He considers vengeance for Dorghra or Correllageon a moot point - the xenos are the enemy, this is a war and they were already marked for death.

He can swear neither allegiance nor safe passage. And while not opposed to using xenos transportation in of itself he would also see the value of taking two paths lest one never reach their goal.
