I have a feeling this dialogue needs to be in the IC...

Azadth will stay in place, undetected until he has to blow someone's head off. He'll cover your advance. I switched my UGBL with Necro's Kraken bolts, so someone say the word, and I'll make heavy bolter Bob lighter from the neck up.

Perhpas, but as I figure it by the time Alda could begin to act all the MArines will already have sprung into action and formed battle plans and what not. As such I am going to delay Alda's post unti la few of the others have gone andthen work her action to fit in.

Unless you all want me to try a varient of the ploy form the Bazzar, perhpas Godfrey Na Sylt-Lingon could convince some the the enemy to go elswehere, such as chasing pahtim enemies away from the Bulwark.

I've put a roll in the IC for screams and giggles.

If someone else wants to kill the CSM, that's up to them, I'll blast an Orgryn instead, it makes no difference to me.

@Trokair Azadth might ask you to stay with him, then? Wouldn't want his 'his little sister' getting hurt.

I was going to sweep Zidemi’s flamer through the compound. Likely I would get a lot of the dregs (20-30 perhaps), but would leave the various elites behind for the rest of you to finish off.

My, my we have been busy! And welcome back, everyone!

I will have Gerhardt, in classic Black Templar fashion, throw himself into the thick of it and start hacking apart beastmen galore.

So, naturally Váfri's first instinct will be to go for the traitor himself, but when I was first putting him together I had a campaign against mutant ogryns as one of his pre-Deathwatch deployments (he even has an ogryn tooth among his talismans and trappings) and I'm trying to have a general theme of his character arc be him learning to be (a bit) less impulsive as he learns what the mantle of leadership actually requires, so this seems like a great opportunity for him to put those lessons into practice and let someone else go for the renegade Astartes while he focusses on the nearest/biggest ogryn using his experience in taking those down. As unsubtly as possible, of course.

Oh, yeah, @Lysimachus - I like those upgrades you suggested for the unspent XP. I had a quick look through the books and I don't see anything I'd rather take, and the Strength advance is a good shout. I'll go with those, cheers! I probably won't need the tracking this late in the adventure, but like you say it's a fluffy choice.

If someone else wants to clock the turncoat, no worries from me. Once he's scalped, nick his gun.

As long as Azadth takes a head, he's happy.

EDIT:

I've added some interaction with Alda.

Lovely, so far we've got Azadth taking out the Astartes Gunner (smart move, he wouldn't have a Dodge as if we were playing it out the first Round would be a Surprise), Vafri taking on an Ogryn, and Gerhardt and Zidemi going into the mass of troops.

I think that would leave the other Ogryn, and probably some more of the mercenary squads - maybe the Ork and/or Kroot units?

And Omoc, Asterius, Moridyn and Alda to choose their targets!

Once we've got a fair idea of who is doing what, feel free to start posting IC with the fight from your perspective and if you want, to weave what others are doing into your narrative too.

Moridyn will join Zimedi in purging some lesser foes - assault shotgun/flamer is enough for some lacking human scum and even kroot. Orks and Ogyrn I leave to the more angry members of the squad to vent their fury upon.

Last chance to get posts (or placeholders) in, I will add the weekly update tomorrow.

...that said, it will be a fairly brief update this week, essentially just a chance for you to decide where in the Bulwark you are going to go next. Feel free to start discussing your preferred destination here in the OOC now though!

If any of these trash are shooting at us from windows, Azadth will climb the wall, and toss them screaming, to their death, and go in from there.

Also I'd like to magpie every grenade I can lay my hands on to disinfect this heap.

@Lysimachus with abundant apologies, I will get something up this afternoon/evening my time.

No worries mate, I've added the update, but if you or anyone has posts they want to add, still do! It can just be flashbacks or whatever as you are travelling through the Bulwark?

There aren't really windows except towards the very top of the outer wall, so climbing might take a lot longer than going through the door.

Obviously, you can go to the Watchstation area and the Armoury if you want? I've written that the HB gunner must have had a similar idea, so he might have a few bits that you might re-appropriate...?

You may remember that the layout of the Bulwark could be compared to that of a tree and its roots. The above-ground fortress itself is like the trunk, and then beneath the surface the various sections and chambers spread out into the surrounding area and down into the depths.

Above leads to staterooms and personal quarters of important residents and guests, and also hangar bays, etc (the Iron Sabre Stormeagle isn't here, remember, it's back on the Supremacy). Right at the top there are ramparts, guard posts and anti-air weapons batteries, etc.

Probably somewhere around ground level is the motor pool (where you got the Land Speeder and Bikes for your mission against Grubgob's Orks)

Going further down into the ground would lead to various areas - the barracks of the Alucar Storm Trooper platoons (empty, as these are also back on the Supremacy), the kitchens and other service areas.

Also there is the sizable part of the Bulwark that serves as your own Watchstation, with its Strategium, Armoury, Apothecarion, training rooms and personal cells, all spread over several levels and chambers within the rock.

Below that are more sections given over to the various Inquisitorial factions, and the Chem lab run by the AdMech, and at the lowest level the place where you were stopped by the Grey Knight Aednan.

So, where do you want to go?

I am inclined to head for where Grey Knight Aednan is, possibly stoping at Inquisitors Kine Quaters and/or Skyaan quaters in case there are clues there.

@Lysimachus, could Alda loot the Kroot Rifle and 2 spare clips of ammo for it from the enemy by the entrance way? I know she can't use it properly, this is more for a rule of cool idea.

I've just realised Necro will need the bombs, since he's got the UBGL. I'll just follow everyone in so as not to break up the team.

Locate and secure the lethally Toxic dart gun.

I don't have any problem with that. As you say, she's not Trained in using it, and I suspect it's less effective than either her bolt pistol for shooting or her power sword for CC?

Omoc would also consider the GK the most logical target - the one place in the fortress that a disguise would not be enough to enter.
