It does.

Not sure what all the implication of that is, but I am sure we will know  when Lys thinks the time is right.

Well, remember that the drug is designed for interrogation purposes against physically tougher subjects - mutants, Astartes (though it had limited success there), etc, etc. So using it against a regular humanoid could be fatal, so you can't be sure if Aykawa wanted to ask Kal'li-nath questions, or kill him (as the Prince believed - although he is likely quite paranoid…) But the very fact that Aykawa has some of the drug is… suggestive?

Also, a small point is that I mentioned the smell of the synth-skin he was wearing (I imagine it's sort of like wetsuit material, which I understand has quite a strong rubbery smell?). If Vafri remembers, he caught a faint whiff of something like that in Dendinius’ cell after the murder.

Plus, Kal'li-nath does seem to have recognised him as Orochi's ‘pet killer’, so that should tell you a fair bit.

Putting all that together…

Got it, It was Colonel Mustard with the Candlestick in the Conservatory.

Asterius is just out of combat and trying to keep his kill-urges under control. That's why I put him on point.

I don't think that he would have been interested in searching for Trinkets.

The palace disgusts him like it does to Gerhardt, but he's trying to keep it together.

He knows two things.

1) That his pact with Ulfurbur enables him to wear his Chapter Colours.

2) That he survived the Xenos Prince's earlier assassination of Squad Lucifer.

Who knows maybe there will be combat in the Lower Levels?

DId Asterius bite out the dead Marine's geneseed?

You definitely don't want to eat them raw. They're much better when sauteed in butter and garlic, and served with fava beans and a nice chianti, per p.42 of The Tome of Excess. Are we in the right thread?

No just going for flesh for implant to work.

More hoping for a Desist Order from the party if anything.

The body might be a CSM if it came from the Chaos uprising World.

Of Squad Lucifer that went to the AdMech Moon, Asterius is the only living survivor. One was buried and the others were vaporised.

The ones that went after the Orks got killed.

How I'm reading the IC bit is that Asterius has leaned in to bite, but hasn't actually done it yet. I'll pause before responding to see if anyone wants to stop him before he actually does it.

There may be other ways to learn things before taking such a drastic step, after all. (Edit again: I think MG actually mentioned looking for tats, very good idea, maybe see how that turns out before eating bits of him?)

Edit: Also, remember that Kal'li-nath said that Orochi came to the Bazaar with this Marine around 3 years ago, and wanted the body disposed of back then, so it's been a frozen corpse for all of that time. I'm not sure how the Omophagea is supposed to work, exactly, but I think(?) it works better the fresher the body is... so you might not get a lot out of such an action...

Well that answers that.

Now onto the next question, is the Skaayn we meet an imposter?

not sure we have any in game ways of testing that anytime soon.

The Commissar's Handbook prescribes a bolt round to the back of the head for any troops exhibiting signs of disloyalty, cowardice, doppelgangerism or misplaced body. If it is information you seek, your mileage may vary.

Easy, we just need to check back. We have to do an Intelligence Check whilst asking the GM whether we have seen him without his Helm on.

If he doesn't have the same ashen skin and black hair emo Goth looks, then Skaayn is the imposter.

I would presume that if he is an imposter and has been in the role for three years or so, such obvious means of discovery will have been covered one way or another.

Description of Skaayn from pg1 (or maybe 2?) of the IC thread certainly sounds right for a Marine of the RG geneline... but such things can be (and have been) faked by those with skills at deception...

So, has anyone got any ideas that they want to lay out regarding the plot so far?

The finding of the body in the freezer was supposed to be a big reveal that answered a lot of questions (and maybe raised one or two more!), but either way gave you a pretty clear idea of what you needed to do/where you needed to go next? However, it's quite possible I'm doing my usual; making things way too complicated and then wondering why people haven't read my mind?

If that's the case, I'll happily pick out a few plot pointers/explanations here in the OOC for you to consider?

Well, I thought I had an idea of where things were going, but now I am more lost, not less.

Which might just be a case of I had forgotten some earlier stuff and relying on broad strokes memory of events instead of the specifics.

I am now wondering if there are two conspiracies, each interfering with the other while not being fully aware of each other.

I’ll leave it to smarter players to put me right.

Edit: rereading the sotry thread when all is done and dusted is going to be so hinsigth is 20/20 lols

My short list of suspects to add to our rogues gallery of those masquerading as Skaayn:

1. Alpharius

2. Also Alpharius

3. The Changeling

4. A polymorphine-ed, and hypno-indoctrinated/mind-controlled ogryn
