In my opinion, the first 40k reveal for quite a while that has similar freshness to the AoS ranges. Yes they're updates, but they're bringing out a really exciting space mercenary vibe. More of this please, more Tau auxiliaries and some Duthraki monsters and freaks. Go wilder GW.

These kroot look fantastic, the designers have done a grand job here.

Till all are Kroot

On a side note, I think GW's plan for Kroot is probably along the lines of Harlequins with Eldar (afterall their codex was folded back into the main elder one). Maybe one day they'll get their own unique army rule but I the intention seems to be firmly having them an integral part of the T'au empire, perhaps moreso now.

Best thing to happen now would be for more T'au allied races to get the love.

From a setting standpoint, the T'au Empire range should be as vast and diverse as the Imperium factions. Will probably be a long while to get there.

All being said, I'm not stressing myself to get the boxset, as, what's the point? I'll get them at my own pace.

For an army I'm not likely to get into I'm really excited about these, they look fantastic and it's great see Kroot get some attention. I wasn't a fan of the old Krootox but what they've done with it has turned that around, I think the more/longer quills on the head and arms are a huge part of it as well as the added decoration. The new Rampagers are fab too, the poses are A+.

Can't wait to see what else they have coming for Kroot and hopefully some new sculpts for Vespids will follow too.

I think they will look great mixed in with the 30ish old kroot I already have. This lot and the farstriders constitute a really welcome update. They really capitalised on the subtle redesign they did for blackstone fortress.

They really do look like a great update on the old kit (shall we say, a "faithful remastering"?).

They feel like the Leviathan Terminators (Tallminators), no real change to the aesthetic of the models, just a new, higher quality sculpt with adjusted dimensions and more dynamic poses. Which is great! That's pretty much exactly what I wanted out of a new Carnivore kit.

I think GW have smashed it with these!

I know my what my “New Year, New Army” is going to be!

What do you think the chances are that we’ll get a Great Knarloc!?

A man can dream!

This preview exceeded expectations. I will definitely be picking up a Kroot box. I really want the dex too- I'm nervos about it because the bar for Crusade content in the Tau dex is really high- it was one of my favourite Crusdade dexes in 9th. I like the fact they've directly stated that the Kroot can be used stand-alone.

And yes, with roughly 4 remaining kits, my Greater Knarloc dream is still alive. I'm not sure we'll get Knarloc riders- I think Krootox rampagers have that niche covered. But a Greater knarloc kit would give the army a large model (vehicle class). I think there's a lot of opportunity for a multibuild kit- like a transport variant (howdah), a beast of burden variant (cargo) and a weaponized variant (firing platform).

Just fantastic- I'll be dragging my ass at work today, but staying up to watch that preview was worth it.

The new models are fantastic but even the side by side comparison of the old and new Krootox and Shaper above really nail how solid even the old Kroot models were in the first place. About time they updated them.

Shame the state of current 40K means there's no point in me picking them up. If 11th picks up Kroot might be my foray back in from HH

They really are great sculpts, and the new ones do feel like they capture that same dynamic energy. Good stuff.

The carnivores are the top, but that Krootox might be my second favorite out of those models. That is a really nice take on another classic.

Seems a shame for me to have a storage box with just a lonely Farstalker Kinband in it... oh thanks GW, problem "solved"

Nice to see someone else in the same boat as me. Maybe we should all make an oath to assemble and paint our farstalker kinbands before this is released or sit out on purchasing this box. Or at least get them assembled and primed…

I've never got round to Tau or Kroot but always liked the models. I really shouldn't buy that army box but having something equally savage to let loose on my friend's Beast Snaggas would be pretty amazing. I'll have to see if there's a Kroot model uploaded on Impcat and play around with colour schemes as a "maybe" list.

Those new Krootox models and the Shapers have really won me over.

I'm so happy GW put the A-team on this project. Those cavalry models might be the best sculpts in years, true works of art. The tribal paint jobs are wonderful and the models look a treat to paint. I hope there is a way to make some of the foot soldiers a bit more melee focused, but overall an A++ and those cav deserve a shot at model of the year in 2024!

I mean, if we get a great Gnarloc with an option between being transport orientated and one with a hunting cannon on it, at that point I just want to have a thematic battle between Kroot and Beastsnaggas on Hunta rigs and Gnarlocs.
