so you're not counting all the stealth suits?

Are we on the same page here :ermm:.. or is this a tongue in cheek joke of saying stealth suits even when there's nothing there... ...

although in saying that "Pounder get some stealth suits and paint em up"  , apparently they (XV25's) from what I've read may be a better way of providing guided units and forward observers in 10th ,of which I think last edition people used to spam tetra's for this ... I'm definitely going to get another unit of Stealth suits (they're quite cheap actually) to add to my Future roster...

Cheers, M

That’s the plan!

I’m hoping that my box will arrive on Saturday. Once it does I’ll be all over it!

I want to start with a Krootox Rampager! That way I’ll have my colour scheme nailed down for the rest of the Kroot.

It’s been ages since I’ve added to this thread! (I’ve completed my AoS project so no excuses)

I’ve finished my first Krootox Rampager.

These kits are stunning and huge!

Can’t wait to get cracking on these full time.

With the imposing size and angry looking face I thought the Krootox looked like a bull so I went with red eyes to add to the furious look.

I’m also happy with how the base came out, not sure how urban it looks but still I feel it’s effective.

Thanks for looking and please do leave a comment or give advice.

Rampager Looks Awesome Jud,

The Colours you chose create a Cool tone to the Model  the red eyes are just right !!

There would be grass and mud on the Outskirts of an Urban environment (parks etc) perhaps adding something here and there to suggest urban like paving stones or a ruined Girder or destroyed objects, road signs... The easiest way I think would to make a half/corner or just a side part of your bases the edge of a path or road using plasticard or card that's done as chequer plating...and run the mud /grime up to overlap it...

like I did here on my Orks... but with less plating in your case...

Keep up the Great work and i look forward to seeing More Kroot from you!!

Cheers, Mithril

Many thanks @MithrilForge!

I definitely think you’re right, the base needs a little bit more work.

I have an old piece of damaged terrain not doing anything useful so I can break that into bits for the bases.

Yours looks great so I’ll take inspiration from that!

Hopefully it won’t be too long before another update.

  • 2 weeks later...

Well I’ve managed to complete my second Rampager!

I reckon the basing is as I’d like it now.

I really wanted to add some Urban elements and still use my tufts. I feel the balance is about right now.

Thanks to @MithrilForge and @Pearson73 for the honest advice.

Here’s the pics:

Thanks again for the ongoing support!

Really nice work! I love your shading/highlighting style. It’s like one of those photo filters where it turns the photo into a painting. Really individual.

Outstanding work  The base looks really good !! you've nailed the urban overgrown rubble look  quite impressed with the way the Rampager looks to be in Mid motion, well executed use of  tying him into the new look base.

This army is going to look awesome altogether on the table... We want more ...Work Faster

and as stated above your models do have that photo turned into cartoon image to them (in a good way!)

Cheers, Mithril

Cheers lads!

I wasn’t aware I had a style! Just the way I go about things.

@MithrilForge I’ll endeavour to work quickly! Not enough hours in a day!

I’ve built and based the next Rampager, hopefully the weather will be accommodating so I can get it primed.

Finally finished my first milestone for this project!

I’ve completed my first unit of Krootox Rampagers!!

These were a joy to work on. Beautiful sculpts and relatively easy to build.

I’m really happy with the paint job and the basing.

I’m thinking of painting a couple of characters next.

Thanks for looking!

Thanks @MithrilForge! Yeah they’re all pretty brutal looking!

I just love the Tribal/Feral look to them, you can really tell GW have done their research into different cultures.

I’ve been really busy of late but I’ve managed to finish my War Shaper!

Can’t say enough good things about this range so much so that I bought 2 boxes of the Hunting Pack boxes!

They’ll form the backbone of my T’au force for now.

Atm my list is:

2 Squads of 20 Carnivores

War Shaper

Flesh Shaper

Lone Spear

Trail Shaper

2 Krootox Riders

2 Squads of 3 Krootox Rampagers

Piranha

Sky Ray

Crisis Sunforge Team

Comes in at 1250pts now all I have to do is paint it up!

As always, thanks for looking!
