I understand but if you worked with companies on sensitive stuff like this, their should be mesure in place to prevent stuff like that from happening or at least make sure who leaked this stuff and prevent it from leaking further. This feel so :cuss:ing inept this is crazy

Like what? An employee likely took pics on their phone of something cool they have a hobby in, sent it to a limited group of friends because they were hyped, someone else forwards it on, someone then puts it on the internet where pictures never die and it's shared around social media/public forums. What do they do then? What can that printing company do about the image on this forum? The cat is out the bag, GW just get to claim compensation and go find a new print firm basically for the breach.

What do you suggest?

They are dealing with a medium-sized hobby company. What they have leaked is not commercially sensitive, it is just an early look at something that the public will have in their hands in about 3 months time. GW may have clauses about leaks but it is not likely to be suing for breach of contract. At worst it will threaten future contracts with the same company. Trust is always hard to earn and easy to lose.

Not sure what you expect really. Even if there are clauses in the contract between GW and the print company about keeping the product confidential, GW are completely at the mercy of that third party company to actually enforce it. And even then, can they? They can have terms with their employees but if one of the guys on the shop floor decides to do it anyway for some internet clout how are you actually stopping him? Physical patdown and/or metal detectors to ensure no phones in the production area? For a modest contract with a mid-sized company who produce sourcebooks for toy soliders? It's not like we're talking about trade secrets act stuff here.

If I was in a position to leak (and could get away with it) I would.

Exciting.

Give us more art, more lore, and more Ordos miniature!

If for this future release GW will miss the opportunity to finally release a inquisitor (male/female) with customization options for the three major ordos, I don't know what I am going to do.

Probably mumble some warp curses for sure..

Hello, please can we have more inquisitors with this release, plus the return of the Inquisitorial Storm Trooper?  I thank you.

To my mind Inquistorial storm troopers should look like this

Tempestus Scions - Warhammer 40k - Lexicanum

and guard storm troopers should look like this

Kasrkin - Warhammer 40k - Lexicanum

This is exactly why mesure like this are in place... they could ask the employees working on the printing to not have their phone while working on the project, only when they go out of the room can they get their phones. Anything like that would work... I'm sure it's easier to control with data like for video games but it's totally doable. It's more like GW are not bothered that much to specify something like this or something

@grailkeeper Even if that isn’t the direction that GW chooses to go in their publication, you can always hold that vision in your head - I don’t disagree, and also think that the Solar Auxilla models would make some very cool Inquisitorial Storm Troopers as well.

My other half works in a bank and they are the same, phone has to be stored in a locker before going into the office, disciplinary offence if not...

"Please can you leave your phone in the box" doesn't prevent someone breaking those rules if they wanted. I agree that likely GW didn't ask for that level of service, or more likely, want to pay for it.

But the point is if someone wants to leak a pic of something they will. All it takes is a disgruntled employee working their notice etc.

I'm interested to see if this is a stand alone army or an allies mini dex.

I have four boxes of Kasrkin sat gathering dust that I would really like to make into Inquisition Stormtroopers. I've sworn off 40k but if this is an opportunity to make a characterful force I may well be tempted to dip my toe back into the water.

Something flexible along the lines of the HH Militia rules set even if toned down would be fun.

So it looks like agents is a go then. Not a release that directly appeals to me but it'll all depend on the model support. Makes me wonder if Valrak was right in his speculation that white Dwarf would have revealed this books existence.

Definitely looks like it and this is the redacted codex. Very very excited for an Inquisition codex.

Yeah Kasrkin aren't proper storm troopers. Just a local knock off :D

Inquisition storm troops would make a great kill team actually, good opportunity for really specialist specialists possibly an acolyte as an alt sergeant build?

definitely base them on the OG gasmask stormtroopers too, probably the best design they've ever had.

A huge number of releases, each edition, or supplement or model or book is "leaked". Either GW have the utmost worst luck, orrrr pretty much 99% of leaks aren't leaks at all.

Well yeah, most "leaks" aren't really leaks, but probably not for the reason you're insinuating.

We (the fanbase in general) seem to use the term "leak" to describe everything from a genuine photo of an unannounced book direct from the shop floor of a third-party contractor, right down to "Valrak got sent discord message from Jes Goodwin's cousins' dog's vet". Only one of those two things is a leak, the other is a rumour.

And stuff like the rules pages from the T'au Codex that popped up recently, it's not exactly a leak because not only have we known that book was imminent for months already, but we know it's been in the hands of social media influencers for weeks because GW sends out the army box so they could get the minis painted up ready to be shown off on pre-order day. Freely distributed preview copies are not really leaks, not even if some people choose to break their embargo date.
