Presumably, as Locus, Rakash can attempt the Forbidden Lore Test to work out the pattern, before the whole process is actually started? So although it's a tough-ish

Not quite. He may test once per Round before the Round commences. This will be done with me in PM, in secret - firstly as a narrative device so it is him directing the ritual, and secondly so I may give guidance and control the encounter more appropriately. Further, it prevents the the IC from clogging up. The Players must work out themselves how they're going to do the Cadence.

Process is as follows per Round:

  • Players agree the Cadence (Rites, Focus etc as noted by Ikka, above),
  • Locus makes the Test in secret with me,
  • If the Locus passes, I will instruct if the cadence is completely right, or partially right - nothing more (but GM Guidance will be given freely),
  • If the Locus loses, I fob him off, since the Players may actually have the correct cadence anyway, (and it's just too bad, should have read more books nerd),
  • The Locus may then advise his colleagues narratively and the Cadence may be adjusted ONCE.
  • The Round is played.
  • This repeats for Three Rounds.
  • As GM I will keep a tally of DoS for the Cadences and announce at the end when DoS is calculated.

Kraggan, however, has got high Int and Forbidden Lore (Warp) so could be useful in the second Rites position... but I'm not sure whether he can get out of the melee in order to come help? @Mazer Rackham would the narrative prep Round allow him to Disengage and get over there, if MG wishes?

Structured Time is NOT suspended for players outside the Circle. For Kraggan to leave combat, he would have to Disengage (1 Turn), complete a run across the flight deck (1 Turn, AG required) and then the Circle could be joined.

However, a shift in balance of the Circle will incur consequences.

Does this help at all? I can over things as much as people like until they're up to speed with it.

EDIT: GM advice here - I would strongly suggest Tarh pulls security for the circle. Just sayin'.

Mask-off GM warning

Hmm, fair enough.

In that case, in view of how long it will take to get there and the additional consequences of joining in late, possibly Kraggan is better off staying where he is? Of course, that's MG's decision to make, though.

Very kind of you, boss, much appreciated!

Edit: weird, I posted that as an edit of the previous post...

Yeah, that happened to me with Round Two in the IC. Spoilers and Quotes et are being squiffy.

We have looked to deep into the Warp, and it is looking back...

I was actually thinking of asking if I could amend my round two action move to be both away from big melee and towards the ritual area (but staying outside it). However as the as the information (the mobilising mob) that would have had him realise that this is a good idea occurred later in the round so I guess that’s something for round three.

You may do so.

@Lysimachus - Kraggan has no intention of leaving melee, he has a rascally varmint to slay!

Hey, I don't think we're doing too badly... if my adding up is right, we've knocked 86 Wounds off her so far!

Of course, 30 of that was from one Hit from Ukalegon falling on top of her...

Edit: and of course, I don't actually know how many Wounds she's got... I think 86 must be a good chunk of them, though? (more optimism! )

I admire your optimism! :D

Golly gee, I like your moxie, fellas!

Considering that after Armour and TB, Delly did 77 Wounds on Ukalegon by herself, that's a good ratio!

Ready to start Round 3 with a bang? If the lads don't exorcise her, that is....

*Counts IP's on his fingers*

Ready to start Round 3 with a bang?

:sigh: Hellshriek bomb again? No way any of us in combat are far enough out to Dodge it this time!

Tempted to spend my last IP on adding some Wounds back on? Hagga should survive the (2d10+6 -TB) without going into Crits as long as Delly doesn't roll 9+10 or 10+10, which you would think would be safe enough...

...but considering the way the bad guys have been rolling so far, I'm... concerned. :ermm:

If that is her move, Eska is dead, though. TB2 and 4W isn't even going to cover minimum rolls!

TBF I don't actually know. I roll her powers on a D6 rando.

Who knows what adventure awaits...

Bring it on!

Your offer is...acceptable...

Why do I have this feeling that Ukalegon is about to be sucked through a warp vortex into Slaanesh's Most Pleasurable Comedy Torture Palace of Amusements Both Devilish and Divine (TM) and emerge a century later as one of the cenobites from Hellraiser?

Unfortunately this says more about the state of fast food and its clientele in the UK than anything else.

All that tosh is all imported from across the water - before that we had scrofulous beggars and rat-on-a-stick. But we were also allowed to beat clankerknappers on the bonce with a mace.

World's gone soft, I tells yer.

Alls I need is a cuppa recaf and a tin of corpse-starch! Just like my pa and his before him!

POV: This is 40k. You're actually eating your father, who ate his father.

Sacrifices for the war effort, yo.

@Xin Ceithan are we rocking this ritual or what?

(why don’t spoilers work on mobile atm?! )

Changing stuff to try and limit access to spammers, etc, is causing some minor issues at the mo. Hopefully everything should be working properly again soon.

@Xin Ceithan - you are going to dress up as Magenta?

I can’t say

( though I will say I’ve been complimented on my shapely legs before  :whistling: )
