the mortals should also have an easier time scouting / grappling other objectives moving in amidst the battle without something as obvious as a SpaceMarine among them.

There are enough of the stations void-suits here that the humans could go dressed as locals, albeit oddly armed.

While that does sound like it will help with sneaking around, I would worry that it could lead to friendly fire if/when we meet up with other Corsair forces.

Did we decide who was taking the second microbead from the wreck? If Hagga and Xerxes have both got one, both groups should be able make contact if they encounter the other 'friendlies'.

By the way, in that regard would our group's callsign be something like 'Krokodil 4' or 'Target Gamma' or something? We didn't actually state it before launch, but I assume it would have been part of our briefing?

Yes, as long as you have the frequencies (which you would) and sing out early and repeatedly with your unit ID, I think you'll be fine.

Yes, you can apply it retrospectively, no problem.

Just checking, GM, you want us to narratively open the door and then pause, right?

Do you want us to make any rolls for anything yet?

Should the Scouts keep rolling as many Navigate Tests are needed until they have gained the 6 successes, then we know how many Encounter rolls we need to make in total? (Would that help with your planning?)

Or do you want us to do it one bit at a time, and stick to 1 Nav roll and 1 Encounter roll per group?

Yeah, if you want to pop the door, do that, mention it opening, nowt else.

Not yet, since I need to know how your party is split, and where they're going.

The latter. Do the rolls, form up some narrative, and inter-party banter if you bonce it up, then hang fire. If the Nav test is failed, the Enounter test still needs to be rolled, because you could end up blundering into something.

If things drag, I have tools to move it along.

@Trokair don't forget about your +10 for having the Map, so you're all good for your first Nav test!

Edit: also, I assume these:

(1)LB - (2)B - (3)GR - (3A)WP

mean something. I'd guess LB is Landing Bay, B could be Brig...? I'm not 100% on the other two...

Hmm, is the 'otherness' @Xin Ceithan mentions something to do with the psy test earlier? Any chance of Cyrandras filling us in?

Side point: Mining suits and purple scarfs? It might be a red herring but that feels very GS Cult...? A possible explanation for the factions on the station?

My apologies for going MIA. Our vehicle was broken into over the holidays, and among the things that were stolen were my phone and laptop (and my external storage drive). I've been using an older (ancient) phone to get by, but purely as a phone. It's been stressful and crazy the last several weeks, and I haven't been able to catch up on anything. Just wanted to pop in now that I have a new phone that can access the Internet and say I'm still alive.

I'm glad you're well and safe. Sorry to hear about this, not good at all. I'm glad to see you back, though.

Don't worry about catching up, we'll be ready when you are.

I'm so sorry to hear this. I had that happen to me a few years ago, except it was my work laptop that got boosted. Plus I had the extreme inconvenience of having to replace a window, which I am sure was the same for you.

Sorry to hear that

It’s bugger enough by itself, but these days you sort of lose half your life when your IT stuff breaks down or gets lifted. Good to hear you are managing

Agreed with all of the above, it's a royal pain and glad you are getting sorted!

I've never had anything of value nicked out of my car, but a couple of years ago I did get a piece of work equipment stolen. What was really galling about the whole thing was that the gear was worth pretty much nothing (especially 2nd hand) and far, far less than it cost me to fix the window! I looked at it the next morning and I was like '...thanks. Thanks very much.'

:wallbash:

Side point @Xin Ceithan don't forget you have +20 for 2 Assists as all Astartes have Navigate

and either +10 or a reroll from the fact we have a map (I'm not sure but I think mathematically the reroll might actually create better odds than the +10...?)

Edit: yep, target 75 is obviously a 75% success rate, target 65 with a reroll is 87.75% success rate! (I think... )

Edit: second side point @Mazer Rackham now Cyrandras has revealed stuff, can we read the spoilered Psy test bits? (Or at least the Marines he is with, anyway?)

Yep, taken into account.

I'm tempted to say yes, since you're sporting folks and I love you all for it, but sadly I must say no, not just yet.

We need the Mortals to catch up first....

Fair enough, boss

@Trokair I was just wondering about the maths, and I realised that the reroll for the map is better than the +10 for Tarh as well!

Either 45+10=55%

Or 45 + (0.55×0.45×100=24.75) = 69.75%

Quite an improvement!

With all these calcs, I'm beginning to suspect we have a Life Assurance/Investment Advisor in our midst.

Maybe I should set game up as a thinly veiled pension calculator and have you lads do all the working out....

How does the Crimson Permanent Assurance strike you for a chaos warband name?

"Your valuables or your life insurance!"

"My what?!"

"Your valuables or -- am I speaking Gothic? I'm speaking Gothic, am I not lads?"

"Right you are, sir!"

"He's speaking Gothic, alright!"

"Hear, hear!"

"Right. Now then my good fellow, our demands are simple: give us your valuables or sign this form here for a very reasonable, fixed rate life insurance policy..."

It's all imaginary anyway. Watch as Tro and Xin choose the reroll rather than +10, then all of their results are 46-55 (or 66-75 in Xin's case) where they would have been successes, but now aren't!

Lies, damn lies and math-hammer...
