Not at the minute. You are still 'on course' so to speak, but I plan to start bringing you all back together shortly, so any Mortal Player could, if they wanted narrate a comms-bleep, which indicates another, friendly signal is in range.

Like a 'scanning for wi-fi network...'

You can't talk yet, but you will know help is on the way - if that makes sense.

Not sure if I'm picturing it right, but the tunnels sound very Necron? With the absolute precision of the stonework and the circular/lines designs?

Trying to remember the background of this asteroid... the bits that are left of several worlds in the system that were completely destroyed during the HH... is that right?

On the plus side, if any of us survive, they'll possibly have some sweet Necron dosh, so there's that. That or our follow-up party of characters will find the first's charred remains and wisely decide, "NOPE," and obliterate the rock from a safe distance.

I like your moxie.

Yes, that's right. The data thread has the full spiel.

@Machine God, you mention triangulation of signal - are you trying to get the Cultists to lock on to you, or the marines?

EDIT: Also lads, do me a favour and keep a record of what you pick up on your travels, somewhere on your character sheet. I'm compiling a list along with your resources so you can either break the items down into Materials or their value for trade.

Component recovery will be based on calcs of either size or weight (I'm not decided yet), and Value obviously will be the Availability.

Well Kraggan has only sent two pings. So hopefully Someone who knows who Eska is.

Violent Children is his Heretek lingo for Marines knowing how biological tech implants work

Ah, gotcha.

Can we meet up with the mortals before we go into the command hub? I think all of us could do with a First Aid test if Tarh is willing (probably Ukalegon more than Hagga or Cyrandras, but all of us took some damage I think?)

Yep, not a problem. Up to you if you go to them, bring them to you, however you wish. Decide what and who's moving before you go, though. Remember there are patrols and picters lurking.

Come on over, betwen Ephialtes and Tarh we might be able to stick on a few band-aids.

Yeah, I guess if Necro and Xin have no objections we can move up to where the mortals are?

GM: Just to prevent repetition of things, and preserve some inter-party dynamics, we will assume that Kraggan relates his belief Crux'As cut and ran, and all players are up to speed.  (Tarh can put in his tuppence he is not convinced, thereby causing further doubt over the exact circumstances). If you do want to post your IC reactions etc, please feel free.

Would it be easier if I amende my last post to give Tarh's though that it was an abduction, and then Kraggan can voice his though about Crux'as making a run/hiding?

Edit: went ahead and did so, can revert to old version if it dosent suite.

When you're ready to move on, just let me know what you want to do next after some planning/discussion in the OOC.

Right, how do we want to take on the command hexagon?

Can we ask Seryna if she has any info on internal layout, who we're up against, is this bit definitely controlled by the GSC, etc, etc?

But overall, Hagga's strategy will be to walk in and start beating on anything that moves, until they stop moving!

'May I take your coat, sir?'

*bonk*

'Good morning sir, may I welcome you to-'

*bonk*

'Sir, please, you can't park that-'

*BONK* 'Ha! Crom laughs at your parking. Hagga in charge now. Where is your commander?'

'S-sir, please, this is Wendy's!'

On a more game-related note, from your previous encounters and info gleaned from the rest of the team, you can surmise the opposition will be a combination of:

  • Hanged Men,
  • Hybrids with better weapons,
  • Bigger Hybrids with bigger weapons, and;
  • Maybe even a Purestrain Massive Big Huge Mutant.

I'll infodump the layout on the IC.

Yes please, if possible. I don't know about Cyrandras, but Hagga is currently 15/20

Edit:

Tactics - we have joined the mortals, so we are now on a level with the middle floor, correct? And there is an entrance on our level and the one below?

So it's swings and roundabouts, isn't it?

If we go in on the middle floor, we are fighting downwards to clear the bottom floor, which is preferable. But it also means we can be attacked from up and down at the same time.

Alternatively, going in through the portal on the lowest floor means we have to work our way all the way up to the top, but it does also limit the number of enemies that can get to us at any given moment?

Unless... what about a feint+retreat at the bottom floor portal to draw the defenders down and out, then a real attack on the middle floor?

@Trokair & @A.T. many thanks, gents. Thanks to Ukalegon's Black Blood implant he is mercifully always considered to be lightly wounded. Mercifully because I am a degenerate gambler idiot who seems derive sick pleasure from tossing my characters into the proverbial food processor and seeing what emerges.

GM: a vast horde of xenos scum, each armed with all manner of deadly blades and other weapons approaches you.

When cleaning a house, it generally makes the most sense to go top to bottom or bottom to top. I think, perhaps, either we start at the top and systematically work our way down, possibly with some some techno-sorcery from our Dark Mechanicus colleagues to lock down the exits and generally funnel/corner any resistance into a nice kill-zone, as appropriate. Or, we can do as you said: divide their forces in the middle, but tactically I think we should to give them somewhere to go, a place where we can bottle them up and then annihilate them. We don't want these jabronis running about willie-nillie.

Two things:

First, are you going to split the team to try and rescue Crux'As, and; Secondly, be sure what you're about, because this is the Command Centre.

Once you start this, all :cuss: hell is going to break loose.

Do we even have any inkling as to where he was taken? I guess maybe we could try to trace the ductwork he was dragged through but beyond that I'm unsure if any of us is a particularly skilled tracker. Considering my character was not there, I'm at a bit of a loss as to what to do about him at present.

@Necronaut Fair point. We can't go top to bottom (no access at the top, unless there are windows we can bust through?) but we can go bottom to top?

In answer to @Mazer Rackham's post, I'm personally thinking splitting up again is a bad idea?

I'm guessing that the Command Centre is a key target... but it's not the centre of the Cult, right? Surely the heart of it is wherever the Druid is with all his followers? (and Crux'as)

So I reckon deal with where we are now, first. Then we can go find the smiler?

Also, do we have any more allies here? Who is Caleb? Can Seryna put us in touch?
