Mecha-Blastoise might be a bit much, but the other ideas I am on board with.

Even 30 Infamy for a normal minnion, let alone the 50 for a greater, still seem way way off in the future, asuming the game even goes that long and Tarh survives...

Since the majority already did their Initiative in readiness for rund one heres Tarh's.

Initiative

d10: 5 + 4 (Ag) + 2 ( Quick & Dead) = 11

Edit: and a little to late, just saw Mazer post in the IC thread

Hey boss,

I'm trying to picture where everything is inside the bunker, does this seem about right?

large.large.Floor1.jpg.79cacfa7ef9619d86

Tarh and Seryna are in the doorway (facing in and out respectively)

Ukalegon charged the Aberrant 1 (that could be seen in/through the doorway)

Hagga went right to hit Aberrant 2, and Kraggan joined him.

Xerxes ran across towards the turret with his mobile cover in front of him.

The 2 Hordes are behind the 2 Cogitator Banks. I assume it must be Mining Laser to the North (as the Hybrid moved over to engage Ukalegon) and therefore Rockhammer Horde must be to the Southeast?

Is that all more or less correct?

@Mazer Rackham is Ukalegon in melee/engaged with the mining laser hybrid in addition to the horde, or has that one stayed at a bit of a distance. Trying to weigh my options as to whether I start blasting or hack away at the shorter gribblies. Thanks in advance.

The ML horde has two hybrids in it - ML is still with his brood behind the breakfast counter, the second Hybrid has decided to come over for a hug.

Technically, IIRC Core states you can't shoot out of melee at all, since you're too preoccupied for that. Just for Clarity you can dodge the ML shot, as previously advised.

Subsequent question: If the Mining Laser (Heavy) is carried by Hybrid 1 in the Horde, and that Horde (via Hybrid 2) is now also engaged in Melee, Hybrid 1 can therefore no longer shoot the Laser, as only Pistol Class weapons can be fired in Melee.

Or is it that the Horde is not engaged in Melee with Ukalegon, because Hybrid 2 has actually left the Horde in order to move into Engagement Range (meaning it can be attacked without requiring a Called Attack?)

Oh yeah, agree completely, I'm thinking ahead to whether it can shoot the Laser in future Rounds?

I'm guessing these guys are intended to be independent characters from the horde, in effect, which share the same initiative. It seems like they can join and leave the horde as they please for our GM's purposes, in which case he'd need to detach from the horde in order to fire the mining laser (how's that for an upgrade over your long-las, @Trokair?) if the horde jumped into melee.

@Trokair cracking idea!

@Necronaut yeah, agreed. So at the moment, the Laser and the Horde haven't moved, so are still together, and aren't in Melee so the Laser can still shoot.

But the second Hybrid (the CCW one) has left the Horde to move into Engagement with Ukalegon, so it can be attacked without needing a Called Attack to pick it out of the crowd?

@Mazer Rackham one other thing: per your instructions for making a called shot vs the hybrids while in melee with them and a horde, should our calculations factor in both the called shot penalty and the firing into melee or am I needlessly stacking up penalties? Just trying to understand the scenario a bit better. Or did you mean a melee/pistol called shot? I'm not firing on all cylinders this morning <chugs more recaf>.

Edit: @Lysimachus since it is engaged in melee with Ukalegon mano a mano y hombre a hombre, my guess is you could either charge it or fire upon it with the standard penalty for firing into melee.

Heavy weapon with Overheats, Inaccurate, single shot, clip 5 reload 2 Full, and 60m range. Bit of a downgrade if you ask me, but if it floats your boat...

You got it.

You don't need Called Shot for that one, it's just the Shooting into Melee penalty, as it's not with the Horde any more.

The Hybrids, whilst still in the Horde, are being sheltered by the Horde in a press of bodies and Brood control. Whilst within the Horde, to hit the Hybrid requires a Called Shot. The Hybrid now engaged with you in melee has moved at least more than 4m and is beyond Horde Cohesion. You're not in CC with the Horde.

This.

Does this help?
