Speaking of posting speed, I've not really set any plan or schedule like I did with Murderers, because it's only 2 players. So I'm just going ahead and posting whenever I've got replies from both of you.

However, I don't intend that to rush either of you, so don't feel any obligation to post back immediately if you're busy (though, of course, feel free to if you have got time!)

Basically, I'm saying I'll try to let you guys set the pace you're comfortable with.

(As mentioned in the IC, I'm just going to pause Obadiah for a couple of posts, as otherwise there is a weird timey-wimey effect where we have several hours of travel happening within the same amount of time as a single conversation... )

Hmm, my gut feeling is that because this is a prison/mine, they wouldn't have access to a lot of tools that a regular mine would have (explosives, mining lasers, all the nice GS Cult gear, etc, etc).

Hammers and picks is probably as far as they'd allow. It's more labour intensive, but the labour is free and expendable.

Edit: There is probably a Mechanicus contingent stationed at the processing plant who might have better equipment? If something was found that required heavier tools, maybe the Deck would be cleared and the AdMech guys given access to go in and blast?

@FabiusV4lcoran by the way, I was looking at your sheet and I can't see what Powers you selected with the extra 500xp Psykers get? I think you've said you took something fire-based, but I can't remember what it was? (I'll be honest, I'm not 100% familiar with the psy rules in BC...)

@Lysimachus a psyker can start with up to 500xp worth of psychic powers (free of charge) from the Undivided, Divination, Telepathy or Telekinesis power lists in the core rulebook. I think (and please feel free to correct me @Mazer Rackham if you've allowed purchases from the Pyromancy list from the Tome of Change, or otherwise grouped Biomancy, Pyromancy, etc. as unaligned powers) he would need to spend some of his starting xp to purchase any powers from other lists.

This was my understanding as well; I just took some basics and didn't get anything too pyro-y yet, unfortunately.  I didn't even look at Tome of Change yet as I know most stuff comes from the core rulebook and we aren't delving too deep into that extra stuff.

I'm updating the character sheet now, sorry; updated a OneNote I'm keeping and then missed it on the transcription.

Yes, that's on me - we hadn't gone into that discussion as yet IIRC, apologies. I was trying to keep it simple for now, much in the same way as the Mortals prisoner's talents were suppressed to avoid incidents at the beginning of a game.

@Iron Father Ferrum as you are able to avoid the light, you'd get +20 to Stealth for moving in full darkness, plus the +10 for terrain.

(Bear in mind if/when you break through the fence, you won't get the terrain bonus as the ground inside the prison has been deliberately levelled out)

Yeah, it certainly won't need a WS Attack to hit the fence or anything.

Maybe an Easy(+20) Str test to saw through the mesh? (don't forget your Power Armour Str Bonus too!)

Deceive is indeed used for disguising things, so a Challenging(+0) test to hide the damage would be fitting (though might be Opposed by Awareness?)

But that can wait for your next post, with the successful Stealth I'll move you up to the fence in my next post.

@FabiusV4lcoran did Atesh want to say anything to the doormen? No worries if not, I can move you into the chamber to talk to the gang boss? Or equally no worries if you do have something you wanted to post, but just haven't had opportunity - in which case I'll hold fire for a bit?

I'm good for moving in if you're ready!  Sorry if I was holding us up.

No, no, not at all!

I just realised that where I'd left you, I hadn't actually left much for you to do? :laugh: So I figured I'd ask if I should just move it along. But obvs, if you had something you wanted to post, I didn't want to skip it!

Anyway, all good, I'll get the next post up soon!

Yeah, the new claw is solid. Like the fact it's a pack-mounted ammo as well.

I like it, a lot. It's a good upgrade, but that head. Oof.

Better...

Apparently he's supposed to get a 'retinue' as well. I will literally crap bricks if it's a Lamenter, an Astral Claw Sorcerer, and an Executioner.

I'm not sure if you saw the full Red Corsair drop, but one of the new named characters is a former Executioner! That's one third of the bingo card. Bricks have been, uh, produced.

And no love for the Lamenters per usual! Though the one bloke wielding a meltagun and wearing the half-mask is awfully suspicious...

The other new Red Corsair bits and bobs look suitably grimy and gritty. Big fan of the mismatched armour suits.

I am telling you, someone at GW is watching the Nook.

IKR.

Love them - but yes, I am clunking cuboids like a lego factory..!

I'm a big fan of the Corsair squad, and the Sorcerer and the Apothecary are both beautiful.

I'm not actually a huge fan of the Executioner - I assume from the mostly black scheme and the skull mask, he's supposed to be a Death Speaker... he just feels a little... obvious? (The same reasoning why I went with a big sword for Hagga rather than an axe?) Would have preferred a head without a helm too.

I do like the Reave-Captain though... if I were to do another mini for Hagga, further down his path with the Corsairs, it might make a good starting point?

Yeah I'm not sure if it was just how it was painted, and I understand they were going for the look of a traitor chaplain/death speaker who had been run through the ringer, but his skull helm sculpt looks a little phoned in and is nowhere near as menacing as any other chaplain variant.

@Lysimachus Obi is going to work his way through the cluster of pre-fabs to get a better close-up look at the main facility building, in particular looking for a way into the prison part of the complex as quietly and unobtrusively as possible.  I presume another Awareness check is in order?  And I do need to make another Stealth check yet?

If that is your plan, then yes to both. Note that you probably have about 10/15 mins before the investigating squad arrives at the damaged fence, after which it will quickly get a lot harder to move around?

As an addendum to the map I posted before (because I hadn't thought of it), on the west side of the biggest square there is a third landing field, surrounded by a single fence and two more guard towers. When you look at the building you can see a large, ominous looking blast door - this landing field is obviously how intakes of new prisoners are transferred directly down into mines, without having to come anywhere near the other fields (such as the outgoing Mechanicus transports or the field for guard shift changes, etc). There aren't any shuttles there at the moment (more likely for new prisoners to be brought in larger numbers on a bulk transporter, but it happens much more rarely)

Not to distract from the sterling work Lysi is doing to  kill  er, onboard our new folks, there is a matter of housekeeping unresolved.

Could some worthy victim please roll 3 dice - 2 x D10 and a D6 and add the result together to generate a number inclusive of and between 3 and 26 - posting the result here, in the OOC.

Your compliance is appreciated.
