Wow, those resin bits make that bike fit right in with the repulsors and such.  where are they from?

Yep. Figured we got hover tanks why can't we have hover bikes? :biggrin:I got the grav kits off of Etsy and the Templars chasis from Legio Templaris. I know there are some others that sell the kits and/or files. Just Google "grav outriders 40k". Should pop right up.

Got the last two Outriders assembled. Technically the guardrails on the grav pads are supposed to be facing up but the front ones are longer and cover up the chapter details so on the bottom they go. Minor change but personal preference. Now I just need to find some study clear plastic tube so they can actually hover above their bases. They're just resting on them in the photos for now.

Clear Acrylic rods are what I use, 5mm would be plenty for Outriders

I went phat for mine, 10mm

Sternguard, Scouts, Incursors, and Infiltrators assembled. Probably will go back and add chains and tabards to a few of the models that don't have them.

Kitbashed another Chaplain, this time with jump pack using a Sanguinary Guard as the base. I was going to convert another axe into the crozius, but decided to go for a Sword Brethren mace topped with a skull. The book might be a bit much but he's a little top heavy so I wanted to bulk out the middle a bit.

And started putting together some Vanguard Vets with some some left over Bladeguard parts. Got to use up the shoulder pads from the Black Templar upgrade sprue as the jump packs make space bit tricky for the resin ones. Still need some work but they should do alright.

Yes. The shields are from Greytide.

Just need to correct that statement. The shields are designed by Marta Punkgirl. I got them from Dragoon Gaming.

My apologies. Most of the resin I've been using has been from Greytide. Should have double checked first.

I'll have progress posts on my Vow in the following week once I get back from traveling for work.

Some great stuff in this thread and nice use of all the Greytide bits! I like how the Jump Chaplain and Vanguard Vets are coming along. I've got my eye on some Greytide Terminator gorgets for my Chaos terminators (I see that you use them) as I love that look.

Well work took longer than expected, but now I'm back and can get started on my Vow.

Pledge.thumb.jpg.c58502ae2f7aa873192ffc954e37dfbf.jpg

I primed most of the models yesterday (didn't take a new photo) and have about 5 of the Crusader Squad started with their base coats. Should have some photos by Monday.

And while work kept me away from starting my Vow, some more parts came in so I spent one hour putting together an Ancient and everyone's favorite model.............an INVADER ATV!:laugh:

I found some lovely 3D files online that matched the hover bikes and the wonderful Etsy vendor I bought the hover bike parts from was kind enough to print them out as a custom order. It needs some Templar bits and gap filler to really complete it, but I'm going to try and magnetize the guns first (they're currently snap-fit into place). A multi-melta fits the Black Templars' theme, but the gattling cannon just looks cool.

We'll see how it goes.

That grav ATV looks fantastic - way better than the GW go cart, though with the gubbins it does seem too large (IMHO) for a MOUNTED unit - in other words, IMHO its the size suitable for the VEHICLE keyword rather than the MOUNTED one.  That's a pretty minor quibble, though, for a much improved look.

And yes, the gatling definitely looks cool.

Well I didn't even get close to finishing my Vow and haven't touched 40k in three months thanks to life, but luckily this weekend started a much needed vacation and I can get back to the Crusade. Today I began applying some paint to some Sword Brethren. Still a ways to go with them but at least a start.

I also got to kitbash some characters using some of GW's new releases. Two Castellans (one made from the new Ancient, from a spare Bladeguard), an Emperor's Champion (using the Execrator), and a Marshal using the new Vulkan He'stan model. Kept a few of the Salamander bits as I think of this Marshal as a some kind of dragonslayer and keeper of heroic deeds (hence the small book hanging from his belt).

Anyway hopefully this week will be productive. Fingers crossed.

Spent some time with my brother today, helping him build some Orks (I'm a heretic I know:facepalm:). However, I was able to sneak in a few Imperial forces while I was there. One Callidus assassin with a simple head swap. And some Inceptor conversions that I stole from EonsOfBattle. Definitely prefer the rifles to the oversized double pistols.

So what do you do when you get your hands on what is arguably one of the coolest Chapter Master minis of all time?

You chop him up and turn him into a regular Jump Pack Captain of course!

JumpPackCaptainWIP02.thumb.jpg.9817bda3f1c95a4f45bdeb1696683cef.jpg

A few arm swaps, file away the birdie bits, and he's not half bad. Gave him both a power fist and sword for gear options. And normally I don't go for capes, but it looked decent on this guy. Probably not the best idea to wear one with a jet engine strapped to your back, but hey, Templars are a bit crazy. Might go back and add a servo-skull plasma pistol on the base.

Anyway, I just couldn't help myself. And apologies to any Raven Guard fans. The Raven may quoth nevermore but obviously I can't.

Had some spare parts so I threw together another Ancient, needs some touchup and battle damage but mostly good0. Figure I'll need one or two extra to try out the new detachment (not meta I know).

Going to convert some Centurion Devastators tomorrow/Saturday.

Started converting up the Centurion Devastators. Now the base ones aren't bad and my initial plan was to simply do some leg cuts to make them a bit taller. However my plastic addiction got a hold of me and I saw the new Saturnine Terminators and thought, "Hey, what if I used those?" I love how poseable they are, even if they're a bit fiddly to put together.

Anyway, I need some advice. I'm not a complete fan of the "orange slice" shoulder pads and trying to figure out what to do to finish the basic build (minus a bunch of Templar decorations).

So here we have the basic version without shoulder pads (Assault Sergeant just for size comparison). I made a twin-linked lascannon from the original Centurion kit and added the missiles to the chest (shaved off that aquilla 'cause Templars).

CenturionWIP01.jpg.6239fed806d0e8db275f9c110121cac3.jpg

Then we have a version with the resin Centurion pads I was going to use on the original kit.

CenturionWIP02.jpg.41b66da0ba707019bb86a6d8eb461b1c.jpg

And last we have a fully armored one with the pads and the gorget/porthole armor piece, which I'm not sure about either. I know it definitely looks ridiculous without the added bulk of the shoulder pads.

CenturionWIP03.jpg.4e7790c55482b9aab7d6c5945e38f992.jpg

So any thoughts? Or do we try something else? I did try some regular marine pads of various sizes, but didn't like those at all.

PS: Yes I'm aware that Centurions will probably to end up in Legends and that Templars with Saturnine suits might be iffy, but it's fun to convert.

Looks to me like you found a great use for what to me is a horrible kit. I prefer the second option, although I think the Centurion pads need to be brought up a bit higher to hearken back to the original Centurion silhouette. Possibly move the missile launchers to the top? That's a pretty common thing to do.

Hmm... well I did try a bit to raise the shoulder pads a bit, but it gave the mode a bit too much of a T shape. Also the arms are a bit scrawny making the gap a bit big, But I agree the second option looks a bit better and the one I'm leaning towards. I just need to figure out what I want to do with the chests. Either going chain necklaces or some armored gorgets like the Sword Brethren.

I did finish the base assembly of the other two, Need to smooth out the power fists a bit more as I only want the knuckle rivets kept.

CenturionWIP04.jpg.7d095db7f045aca89ce2bb287dfa357f.jpg

I swear the photo makes the missile launchers look bigger than they are when I look at them in real life. Probably just a trick of the light. I shaved them down to be almost the same size as the top armor. Once I get the chest stuff added on it should reduce the oddness.

Got impatient and figured I'd go with my gut. So a few decorations, a bit of battle damage, and they're "complete".

CenturionWIP05.jpg.b8120c7775f321ea433c4af03647e834.jpg

They may not do all that well on the table top, but at least they'll look cool.
