There's a Tesseract Labyrinth on Mars where a shard(?) of the Void Dragon is kept, with successive generations of 'Guardians' kept around to appease/contain it. Considering the Dark Mechanicum have had run of the place for yonks, one would suspect this would be of immense interest to them and for the Loyalists who know about such things to reclaim.

E: For my money, I think it's not going to be brought up here or anywhere else. Maybe if there's a Scouring novel dedicated to Land's death/disappearance - I think he got Cawl'd, or became the next Guardian - but it seems like one of those Cool Heresy Ideas like Taranis that we're just gonna pretend never happened.

Yeah, that seems like one of those throwaway ideas for people to come up with their own stuff with. It's too big an idea for it to come up without being the sole focus of the book, possibly books. The only way I can see it being dealt with is in passing. Either other people deal with it off screen or its escaped and joins the thousand and one other problems that need to be dealt with at some point.

Isn’t its location really secret and deep under Mars?

So.... no audiobooks for:

Auxilia by Russell Zimmerman

Raptors: War and Shadow by William Crowe

Crucible of Fire by Tom R. Pike

Whisperblade by Hal Wilson

Blood of the Bastion by Evan Dicken

What gives, GW/BL? Are you drunk? Get yer heads out of your bums.

Honestly this one makes sense, they would need new audio talent, you cant have the usual lot doing Asian voice for a entire book.  Some of the white scar voice work has been....questionable quality wise if nothing else.  Tho this is something that could have easily been dealt with when they gave the go ahead for the book.

Bummer. Be occupied for a few hours on Saturday morning and miss out on the Raptors novel.

It'd felt like the pre-order crunch was far more forgiving recently with BL releases, but I also hadn't really been trying to nab anything. I suppose it actually is still as rough as ever for certain types of novels.

Am I missing something? The hardback is still available on the Warhammer website. So what have you been missing out?

Not in the US. It sold out on Saturday, not sure where the other Frater is but it did sell out here

Indeed, in the US. Interesting that it's still available in other regions? I wonder if their distribution planning looks at data like that.

Lords of Silence sequel.

Quote

The Lords of Silence, led by the savage Siegemaster Vorx, have established a new plague kingdom, dedicated to the glory of Nurgle. However, peace and stability rarely last for long in the grim darkness of the far future, and the Death Guard are not as united as they may have hoped. Soon, new enemies begin to circle, drawn by the enclave’s apparent vulnerability.

It’s not just external forces that threaten the Plague God’s newest dominion. Within its borders, old resentments simmer, as Vorx’s desire to create a kingdom of his own clashes with his second-in-command Dragan’s thirst to take the fight to the wider Imperium. Now it remains to be seen if the fragile Realm of Silence can survive the growing threats from both inside and out, or if the gathering tides of endless war will sweep it away as quickly as it was formed.

Alongside Realm of Silence and The Lords of Silence, you’ll also be able to pick up some other Nurgle-themed treats. There’s a cotton tapestry measuring 80cm by 30cm, featuring artwork of Siegemaster Vorx in his plague kingdom, and a faux leather notebook, covered with images of bloatflies, to fill with your heretical writings.*

I think you got those numbers mixed up. It should be 2300.

Re: Realm of Silence

I wonder how much time has elapsed between the Lords of Silence and the new book?

I guess with the Death Guard's relationship with mortality, any of the characters that are active at the end of the first book could be in the second.

Spoiler

It would be interesting if Dantine does in fact get restored a bit and is a gardener in one of Vorx's groves, effectively "retired"

Also, I wonder who that is on the cover:

Spoiler

Vorx is bigger and more lumpy, Dragan has the knife-hand, Garstag is in Terminator Armor, and everyone else has well-described mutations that disqualify them. The exciting option would be that it's one of the other, outsider enemies from a different warband entirely. Of course it could just be generic "We need a cover with a plague marine holding a scythe" art.

I also wonder how much the fact that this new "plague kingdom" is not in the Eye of Terror will be a theme.

Spoiler

Sure the boundaries between realspace and the warp are thin, and maybe on Sabatine they have collapsed completely but it would be interesting for some of the traits and activities from the first book that are possible because time in the warp isn't a regular, one-way arrow play out in the "cold and sterile" place that our protagonists find themselves.

All in all I'm way more excited than I should be, given the old wisdom about hope  I may even try to get the tea towel cotton tapestry.

More from Wraight? And it's a sequel to one of my all time BL favorite novel? Hell yeah

Yes. This is the first thing since...the end of the Siege that I was actually surprised and happy to see.
