grailkeeper
Feiw the blades on his power claw looks slightly smaller than they used to be. I'd rather they were bigger and beefier, but that's only a tiny nitpick on a great model. The Againmaggedon-again-again is utter nonsense though, no matter how the chips fall on the "did GW submit an affidavit that Yarrick was totally dead 4 realz"-discussion. I know it's a tired old refrain but going all in on storyline and then having the storyline be endless reruns is beyond silly at this point. I completely agree with you, even more if we count in the whole Ullanor thing, but at the same time you're making Luigi "Lets-Have-Another-Isonzo-Offensive" Cadorna very unhappy. TheVoidDragon
It's quite a good miniature. The main thing I dislike i the Ork Klaw pose seems a bit casual, and him not having the extra armour / bracing up to his shoulder on the front makes it look a bit strange there. For those with military backgrounds, Yarrick is that chain-smoking NCO who drinks nothing but black coffee, never sleeps, has 0% body fat and gets his kicks in by taking the unit on 12-mile runs in full battle kit. Dude is straight up too crusty to die. In a perfect world all the regiments of old would get their due. Given that Armageddon has been a war-wrecked hellworld for somlong now, how are there even Armageddonites left to be recruited for the Steel Legion? Perhaps the reason for the DKoK being so visible here is that the natives don;t actually have a very large population any more. Not like "I want the Steal Legion to die" or something, but imagine the kind of stories you could get out of such a proud and storied people having to get bailed out by everybody else this time. Without that many Steel Legion around, you'd have Krieg, Cadians, random regiments from around the galaxy getting all the glory, while these veteran Steel Legion simply don't have the numbers to really make a difference. Definitely the seeds of some good stories there. Wolf Guard Dan
After the first war of Armageddon Logan Grimnar made off with all the imperial guard that were going to be liquidated by the inquisition. There has been another recent war against the World Eaters there (is that technically 4th war of Armageddon?). It’s quite possible Grimnar absconded with the steel legion remnants again or maybe the inquisition liquidated them. It makes sense that most guardsmen would be off worlders depending on timeline. Probably the same way that there are still Cadians despite Cadia Prime being blasted in half. The Armageddon Steel Legion is probably recruited from across all the worlds in the Armageddon Sector, not just Armageddon itself. Burni
The old one looks like he's really taut and straining, especially the klaw arm whereas the new one looks like he's been holding that pose for so long he's sagging a bit. I'm usually a 'new is better' type of guy but a lot of the recent redone stuff just isn't hitting for me and a lot of that has been when reproducing the posing. I'm not a sculptor so maybe the new stuff is just more anatomically correct or something and that's the reason.
