After doing the math with the stats, turns out my Ratling sniper from the jungles of an isolated world has a higher intelligence than Acchiersum Mourn.

Sorry if I've missed it, do we start with the standard level of XP following the rulebook?

EDIT: As for a weapon, wondering if I should go for a long las or a sniper rifle. Long las has Felling and more ammunition in a clip, but the sniper rifle has better range and I only have 10 wounds!

300 XP.

@All

Data/character topic is now live and ready for you to post your character introductions! I've renamed this topic to the OOC thread too.

Aspects of regiment, equipment, home world are all still available for editing, but it looks like most of us are aligned with most of it, so I thought I'd crack on:thumbsup:

Correct - 600 for Guardsmen, 300 for Support.

Are you harder to hit, being a Ratling?

What is the deal with the Comrade Name box on the Character Sheet?

Demeanor is OK but the Name gets cut in half.

That's your GM forgetting to merge some cells  I've fixed them all now

Sniper rifle has a silencer - much better chance of taking down targets without being spotted.

Me three, I think?

Very quick question - due to our choices, we do have a choice of m36 or long-las as the (Main) gun for the 8th, right?

But we're all supposed to have the same... and I think maybe we've taken different ones?

I had put m36, but I don't have any preference at all, so I'm happy to switch to long-las if that is the majority choice? (and in some ways it does fit better with the background I'm working on for Cal?)

Yeah, we need a clarification on the squad's main weapon and all need to take it, them's the rules, folks!

M36 Lasgun was my understanding as well, but as Por can’t use it I will go with whatever the majority wants / what the people actually using the regiment main weapon want.

@Mojake, could you add a final version of the Regiment and all its rules to the Data/Character thread, both for easy reference down the line if needed, and so that we can check that we are all on the same page and can double check our sheets and not missed anything.

Done, edited the main post on the topic

M36 Lasgun Basic 100m S/3/- 1D10+3 E Pen 0 Clip 60 Full Reliable 4kg Common

Long Las Basic 150m S/-/- 1D10+3 E

Pen 1 Clip 40 Full Accurate, Reliable,

Felling (4) 4.5kg Scarce

Are you all Snipers or do you want to get a weight of fire down range?

The M36 Lasgun also has some alternative fiering mode to the baseline stats in the table.

Quote

Lasgun Variable Setting: The M36 Lasgun has a variable setting option, allowing it to fire higher-powered bursts. It may be changed to overcharge mode, dealing +1 Damage, but using two shots worth of ammunition per shot fired.

Further, the lasgun may be changed to overload mode, dealing +2 Damage and gaining +2 Penetration. In this case, the lasgun uses four shots of ammunition per shot fired, loses Reliable, and gains Unreliable

Edit: just spoted this in the longlas description on p176

The long las benefits from the lasgun variable setting rule (see M36 lasgun).

I don't think it is actually specified what happens when two doctrines, in this case Lone Infantry and Snipers, give two different replacements to the regiment's main weapon.

I figured it would be a merged thing- you either get a standard lasgun or a longlas/sniper rifle that replaces the standard issue laspistol.

To me, since we're a pioneer unit that is kind of straddling the line between a light infantry/scout sniper regiment and a breacher/line infantry regiment the unit kit would be a mix. Pairs of troops with one carrying a longlas/sniper and their buddy with a regular lasgun- specialists replacimg the longlas with their specialty weapon instead of course. Operating in pairs, with fireteams linking up to provide more firepower.
