Dr_Ruminahui
Agree, but the old warboss had that too - it just now applies when the warboss is on its own, which I agree, while a limited use case, is still a valid bonus over the old one. Dezron
I wonder how soon we get a new Nob kit. The new Nobz look now propa big compared to Boyz (as they should) and hopefully the new kit will have the all the old options and more. But the real question is that if they refresh Mega Nobz, how dey’z gonna make dem more snazzy den dem Mega-Beakiez. Dem Mega-Beakiez ’ave Rokkit Racks, ’anmerz, Big Dakka Shootas and more. We’ze gotta show all dem gitz dat Orkz ’ave da bestest, shiniest, killest WHAAAGH-gear around. de Selby
I think the current meganobz kit suffers from looking immobile, not unstoppable. By contrast I really liked assembling the current nobz kit, there are lots of interesting and characterful bits. I like the dynamism of the Armageddon nobz and I hope that translates to mega armour and all the other equipment options. That said, I wouldn't be surprised if it also picked up a buff to one of its stats. Depends. If it’s not like a 4+ vs 6+ or a 2+ vs a 5+difference for wounding it seems like number of attacks generally wins out a lot of the time. edit or if there’s not an AP difference or noticeable damage differences Edited May 25 by Inquisitor_Lensoven DemonGSides 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/387984-armageddon-the-ork-alf/page/5/#findComment-6172509 Share on other sites
Casual Heresy
Nice wee article on how the Boyz and Grots from the Armageddon box go together. Seems like the most customisation of any pushfit kit we've ever seen. #New40k Kit Focus – Da Boyz of Armageddon Lord Marshal, Zoatibix, ggergnayr and 3 others 1 4 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/387984-armageddon-the-ork-alf/page/5/#findComment-6172677 Share on other sites

Yeah these Boyz are a great solution to the push-fit problem. With the previous two xenos antagonists, their basic push for troops can get by by looking kind of cloney because Necron Warriors and Termagants are just kinda of cloney anyway. But Boyz need character and variety. Gives me real hope on a MPK kit, assuming that's coming Xenith, BadgersinHills, Preliminary Bombardment and 2 others 5 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/387984-armageddon-the-ork-alf/page/5/#findComment-6172685 Share on other sites

I've really enjoyed both of these videos, it's a nice way to see some of the thought behind each element of the models and it's got me really excited to get both halves painted up. Really hope we continue to see this with model ranges going forward, would've loved to see one on the new City of Sigmar and Custode releases. Also a lovely way to credit the people who create the wonderful minis, which is never a bad thing! apologist, Lord Marshal and Crimson Longinus 1 2 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/387984-armageddon-the-ork-alf/page/5/#findComment-6173516 Share on other sites

Doghouse
I think if people are patient the box splitting prices should plummet. But having said that this is, albeit a large one, still a limited run. At the mo I've seen ork half at £120ish. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/387984-armageddon-the-ork-alf/page/5/#findComment-6173682 Share on other sites
Lord Marshal
I would not be surprised in the slightest if the Ork prices come down dramatically. I think every edition we've had the online consensus be "wow the Space Marine half is so boring, I bet everybody will be clamouring for the Xenos/Chaos half!" Then once it's actually been released, Ebay is full of non-LSM halves struggling to move for months. Burni
I'm on the fence. I haven't played 40k since the first months of 10th. I'd quite like the Orks but not enough to buy the box and deal with selling what I don't want. If the price comes down by a decent amount, I might grab them (although in my head I was thinking they'd just be a bit more than the price I paid for the SM half of the 8th edition box - haha fat chance!) Got to wonder if we're going to see Legion of the Damned vs Ork Nobs in a vehicle graveyard set from the snippets released from the Operation Imperator book. They talk about kill teams of marines stalking the Mannheim gap (and of stranger figures) seeking to disable looting efforts and blowing up gargants under construction. LotD and Ork nobs have both been Kill team rumours for a little while and this is the first fiction that seems like it would bring them head to head. Whilst they weren't named, sightings of the LoTD were referenced in the Operation Imperator Loremasters video on WH+ . They aren't listed in the 'Order of Battle' download released the other day but that isn't really surprising and the Order only relates to the 'initial thrust of Operation Imperator'. Doghouse
Seeing box splitter prices currently as low as £85 for the entire ork half on Ebay, Boyz seem to range from £10 - £20 for ten and heroes at about a tenner a time. To be honest, if someone is thinking of getting into Orks and doesn't mind doubles now is probably the best time to do so. I think the market gets more saturated with later starter sets it's entirely possible they could go lower still. I was in a similar boat, I checked out of 10th when they rewrote a chunk of the core rules after 3-4 months, however the brb, campaign book and cards could easily have been £80 separately, and I loved the ork stuff, so thought might as well! 11th still isn't looking to be massively fun (as in, easy to play) but I'll give it a go. Uprising
From what I am seeing on the 2nd hand market is that the ork side is going for around 120 USD, while the marines are going for around 150 USD. The box set itself is going for 250 USD at the lowest. Let see what happens on the 20th. Honestly, having built a singular shoota boy and nob from the new box they haven't been scale-crept all that much, if at all. Most of the nob's extra height seems to come from his taktikal rokk, with the proportions being about the same as the old ones.
