Beastsnaggas are NPCs akin to the Red Terror.

Quote

The miniatures will be available for the first time in the Kill Team: Exodite boxed set, where they will be seeking to defend their world from a brutal Ork invasion.

The dossier is a real treasure trove of Exodite lore, and includes a wealth of information about the culture, weapons, and beasts of these elusive Aeldari. It also contains a guide to building and painting terrain to create your own maiden world.

There are also 20 new Joint Ops missions that form a branching campaign, pitting the Dragon Masters against the Beast Snagga NPOs.

I like them, but I can't say they're really the sort of thing I was expecting or hoping for.

They look pretty much like Craftworld Eldar Rangers on dinosaurs, whereas I was hoping for a more obvious very different style, even if it was just a sort of Wood Elf / Forest Eldar vibe.

Kill Team is moving away from the original small infantry unit concept with this and I don't like that. I don't like the models either. The riders look mostly fine. I find it hard to get excited about this when so much other stuff didn't get a proper refresh in years.

I like the minis, and the overall direction of KT, you still can play head to head or play joint ops. And new thing like nemesis or this riders are great.

Yeah I was hoping for some more 'Wood Elf' type of vibe but instead we have another 'slight variant on Craftworld' gig.

Quite disappointed with these.

Why should eldars who was here in their current tech level for 60 millions year be wood elfs after 15k years on maiden worlds?

I think these are just awesome. Hopefully we see some big dinos in the future as an expansion.

I get it, they definitely look tied in with the aesthetic of Craftworlds. I think if GW planned to make them a more expansive independent army list they might of gone for a more savage aesthetic, but as an add-on to Craftworlds I think they wanted to keep the aesthetics visually coherent.

They're Eldar who are meant to be eschewed their advanced techology to go live a more nomadic physical-based life in a setting that revolves around nature and is more in-tune with it, a more wood-elf style for them would have fit that quite well.

These things have opposable thumbs and really odd bipedal posture. What's stopping me from buying one of these, ditching the rider and turning the lizard thing into a xenos mercenary with a gun? I can see the Exodite rider's shield as a bit for an Autarch or a Banshee Exarch. I could use at least one of these, but I already have way too many ideas I want to convert. I just don't like this box one bit. The NPO side are the horribly ugly Beastsnaggas that I never cared for.

Exodites are fantastic  but the fact they could have:

a) put some new jungle terrain in, and/or

b) put new Catachans

in this set, but did neither of those, and instead threw in some Orks that have been around for like 3 years at this point, is massively, hugely disappointing :down: What a missed opportunity!

Still, I can see me doing some Exodites in the future :whistling::sweat:

Yeah, they live in peace with nature, though they would be idiots to not use their advanced weapon to fight any danger for their peaceful naturebond lifestyle... But anyway just like the kit.

Ok well all you negative Nancy's leave the pre orders alone for this one then, okay? It's Kill Team so they probably only made about 14 copies, I will be narked if nobody's enthused about it bar me and I still can't get one.

That was unexpected. I'm not really a fan of this for Kill Team, but I expect we'll see the Exodites eventually available for the Craftworld Aeldari as allies, akin to the Corsairs.

And despite my misgivings about this in Kill Team, I'm almost certain to get it since I'm a sucker for the Aeldari.

It's not the weapons and such that is the problem, it's the overall style of the clothing and how they look overall. It's basically craftworld Eldar / Craftworld Rangers, rather than having them clearly be their own society with its own style.

Missed opportunity to put these guys up against a new Rulon Kill Team.

Aside from being a Kill Team and not bigger selection of units, which is dumb, these guys are awesome.

The ask was simple - Eldar Dino Riders - and GW got the memo! When do we get the diplodocus?

I hope GW resists the impulse to try to make them a whole army.

I think we'll see GW give them a limited range to play as a subfaction for Craftworlds, like Corsairs and Harlequins now. I think Harlequins not really selling as well turned GW off of full ranges for the various minor Aeldari factions.

If they want Ynarri to actually matter they could make Exodites a bigger part of their whole thing

They did say the KT itself will split into 3 characters and the base version will be a cavalry unit, so 4 datasheets isnt a bad start. One less character then Kroot got

But right now they are craftworlders who live in countryside. They aren't mon'key who hang his fetishes and gubbins all around an armour. I do understand fellow hobbyists expectations but arguably can't agreed with their opinions.

Even if they put figs leaf on them there is always failed dreams of perfect exodites which formed for years in hobbyists heads.

I like them. Especially how the dinos look smart and agile, not beasts. Partners not just mounts.

And as for the tech, this stuff isn't really advanced for Eldar, and it wasn't really technology they fled before the Fall. They swore off depravity, not lasers.

And they were running from other Eldar, so of course they'd retain peer level defensive tech.

If I went to live in the woods I'd ditch AI and take an AR.

I don't said advanced for eldar, I just say they shouldn't be with bows and slings.

And yeah AR good choice for exodite, though prefer ol good Benelli cause it's hard to ride for ammo every time...
