Scribe
I like them, but feels a miss to not have some lasers strapped to the dinos. phandaal 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/388169-kill-team-exodites-dragon-masters-dragon-knights/page/2/#findComment-6177418 Share on other sites
marspeople
So does this mean the the three characters won't have 40k rules? Indy Techwisp
3 minutes ago, marspeople said: So does this mean the the three characters won't have 40k rules? They said in the stream that the unit can be built as the 3 Elf Dragon Knights or built as the KT Operatives who are all seperate characters. So 4 units from one kit: Dragon Knights, Lone OP Sniper, Farseer Equivalent and Autarch equivalent. Petitioner's City
I do wish they had gone John rather than Jes in tone for these (ie 6th edition wood elves-esque, rather than clean stoic riders of the forest!) Blindhamster
Well, I love them, I love eldar stuff even if I’m primarily a blood angel. Anyone that knows me knows I love elves and play them in basically any other game where it’s an option. I love the cloth areas and the slightly different armour designs. The dinos are really nice too. Remind me a bit of dragon princes somehow which is cool Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/388169-kill-team-exodites-dragon-masters-dragon-knights/page/2/#findComment-6177455 Share on other sites
Nephaston
Really wish this approach to cavalry was the standard; as in you get three goobers, but you have options to turn them into three characters. Smart as well, as depending on if the unit is capped at three models that is still 4 kits sold if you want to max out without duplicate characters and up to nine for maximum spam. Son of Rawl
Exodites looks lovely, but whats with the Squig Riderz. Exodites vs Catachans would have been an amazing box. Lysimachus
I like them very much, but I do get what people are saying about how it would have been nice if they were slightly more... wild? However, it seems to me that a swap of the helms with some of the heads from the Corsair box would go a very long way to solve the issue? sitnam 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/388169-kill-team-exodites-dragon-masters-dragon-knights/page/2/#findComment-6177485 Share on other sites

IMO it's addressing 3 points here: 1. There's been some grumbling about Kill Team boxes where not everyone wants both Kill Teams. A narrative box with NPOs sells you some mooks any of your Kill Teams can beat up. 2. By putting in a sprue that's already been out for a few years, they're increasing profits. This isn't two fresh kits that need to pay off their molds, it's only one. The other sprues in there are, presumably, already paid off and are just costing GW the price of the plastic and electricity. Or possibly, the beastsnaggas aren't selling well, and they wanted to move more of them to cover their costs. 3. Market testing. They probably have more Exodite units modeled and ready to go, and they need to know if there is a market for them. If this box (and the following standalone kill team box) sell well, they have the proof that there is a market for more Exodites, and they'll greenlight a range expansion for them. Similar stuff happened with Krieg (and outside of Kill Team, other things like Sisters). Castellan Wulfrik
Sadly I second all of the criticism, with all due respect to Jes Goodwin, I would have preferred the Blanche vision of exodites. The dinos do look great though. I believe I heard this is the last project Jes was involved in, so there's that. Despite my addiction to Kill Team products I might skip this, there just isn't a lot of information on the rules to make a decision yet. Will there be rules for similar mounted units akin to Nemesis? If not... Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/388169-kill-team-exodites-dragon-masters-dragon-knights/page/2/#findComment-6177510 Share on other sites
Indy Techwisp
I think people are missing a pretty big design factor here. Namely, if they were just aelves with spiky leathers riding big scary monsters, there's a chance you'd have people going "Oh it's a Spiky Aelf with a big beastie, so thus must be one of those Drukhari Beastmasters I've heard people talk about!" This design fits with the army they're in, and hopefully once they're more established they can be expanded like the Corsairs were. Even these Jes Goodwin sketches are quite a different feel from what they did go for, though. The miniatures have elements of them, but the art still has more of a unique sort of wild tribal eldar vibe. Casual Heresy
Well I'm sold! Looks like I'm finally starting a Xenos Army! I think Eavy Metal's colour scheme is not doing the Exodites any favours, but overall I like what I see. And I am happy to they've gone down the route of the mounts looking more alien than attempting "accurate" dinosaurs that would set of my amateur paleontologist rage. Fingers crossed these lead to even more models. Either way I will be getting as many as I can get my claws on. grailkeeper
I wonder if the moustache man in the trailer is a paid actor? He looks a lot more handsome than the usual GW staffer that gets put into stuff like this. But it's not exactly a demanding role that would require an experienced thespian. Dr. Clock
I am never going to recover financially from this, but I'm not complaining. Now I just need to figure our which third of my army I'm replacing with these lol. T-minus 4 years until Titanic Dragon Prince release, with any luck, too. I love that the mounts have full-on hands... It's a great way to make them look way more 'intelligent' than I was expecting. I'll take three (for the 2x3 Knights and and 3x1 characters) no questions asked. That plus 6 Shining Spears won'te be good, but it will be satisfying. Cheers, The Good Doctor. sitnam 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/388169-kill-team-exodites-dragon-masters-dragon-knights/page/2/#findComment-6177538 Share on other sites
