I feel like I'm missing something with the complaint about posing the bikes, they're marine bikes, if you want them on a different angle, or doing a wheelie, just glue them to your base like that. Seems like a pretty simple job.

Winged helmets, winged bike heads (I am not a biker and I think I might have just killed one with that descriptor), tabards, emblazoned armour and sick pickaxes (swords are just an option for the dead inside, much like DWK swords)?

Thats arguably how alot of units in most ranges are when you get down to it.

A Deathwing Knight is arguably a Terminator but with a sick helment, tabard and weapon.

A Dire Avenger is also a guardian with a bigger helmet and technologically inflicted multiple personality disorder.

Not saying you are wrong mind you about what might happen, but pretending they dont have alot of uniqueness other than the simple fact of riding a bike isn't really fair.

I genuinely care very little about the plasma guns, they are fun and powerful but aren't really what makes or breaks it identity by any means to me.

I've only ever seen in person Ravenwing Knights with the big Swords tbf.

Yeah I really don't feel a whole kit was necessary. A little upgrade sprue with alternate rider torsos for the monopose kit that can accept separate shoulder pads, heads and arms would have accomplished the same thing a lot more efficiently.

Thats genuinely sad, the pickaxes are cool :cuss: and the power swords on that unit arent even especially fun-looking power swords.

Also have a power club for some reason.

I am also the guy that typically despises upgrade kits to represent entire units though.

EDIT: squints, wait a minute, acronyms constitute cursing now?

Oh, and I definitely hope we will get a bike captain and lieutenant!

The Large Leaker has been claiming for a while now that multipart Outriders would be coming alongside a Bike Captain with this Marine wave.

But campaign shmampaign - we all know the real reason that GW chose to drop this model reveal now is because the HU put out their latest video on Friday.

I don't think it's more efficient to have a monopose kit and an upgrade kit if there's not going to be any reason to get the old monopose going forward. May as well redo the kit with the new stuff included. Like, even if they want you mixing it in with chapter upgrades the new sergeant weapons will still make the base kit a better value proposition. We've hit the stage of the Primaris line where the 8th edition kits are gonna get cycled, we're about to have an updated version of the intercessor box that's just a visual update, after all.

It's good it's no longer the push-fit "Learn to Build" style kit any more, but at the same time, they probably could've DONE something with them besides making the SGT somewhat more interesting.

Like literally anything would've been cool.  Oh well!  I've managed to accumulated 12 of these guys over the years and all of them are still on sprue.

That old kit had zip for Sergeant options. I presume we'll see both pistol and melee weapons actually integrated into the refresh box.

They're fine.

They aren't particularly exciting, but they do the job and will at least be a little more interchangeable with upgrade kits etc

The leaning back in the bike pose is just classic marine biker pose.

It's also just.. odd how they get comments about the way they're sat on their bikes and lack of dynamic posing when as others said, if you want it turning, lean the bike, they're big brutal bikes not well suited to dynamism anyway. Nor were the old (pre outrider) ones frankly. Nobody seemed to be complaining about how the custodian jet bikers were sat in their bikes, when we got new eldar jetbikers nobody complained about those either.

These are ultimately phoned in, but space marine bikers of all varieties always have been.

Just saying, if they release Doomrider T-Posing on the handles of his Daemon bike doing a wheelie, it will sell so fast the system would crash.

Not even armed, just T-posing menacingly.

Aeldari bikers seem to consistently have a "Riding a Superbike" pose where as Space Marines assume the "Ride-on Lawnmower" stance.

Not being some big rework with fancy new mounted guns does preserve the value of people's existing outriders. If you had a bunch already in your army you would only need to add sergeant power weapons from the new kit. Whereas plasma hover bikers or whatever would probably make bolterbikes redundant.

We all know you have to T pose to assert dominance.

But also, a character in a super cool pose is fine, you have it once, but as some others said, if you have a 3 man kit which has an akira pose, a standing up pose firing a pistol and a regular bike pose... your army will look very weird the moment you have more than 3 models in the army. The generic riding a bike pose as the base is a better baseline for army building on kits with so few models.

Its not a lawnmower pose, its a cruiser bike pose, which is more the style of what a big heavy hunk of ceramite like an outrider bike will be. It's also heavily inspired by the old judge dredd bike pose

In fact, for players like white scars I guess if you had 6 already, you could buy this kit and add a sergeant to groups of two of your old ones. Which might be handy

The reason to "get the old monopose going forward" would be it would have an upgrade sprue bundled with it to improve it. It's not like this is an outlandish concept, see the Termagants from last edition (monopose in starter sets, extra weapon sprue for the standalone release) or the even more comparable AoS Chaos Knights (had an upgrade sprue for the command options added later).

I'm gonna be real, but what is a Deathwing Knight but a regular Assault Terminator with a big shield, a hood and a mace instead of a Thunder Hammer?

I doubt you're getting bespoke robed Assault Terminators back.

Deathwing Knights are hardly unique to be fair. Not every kit needs bespoke rules, it's bloat at some point.

This is very weird kit...

"Option to pose your bikes as leaning left or right"
You mean just tilt the bike lil to either direction and that´s it`? No turning the front wheel, no different helmets like old bikers had (lil antenna on their helmet)

So in a nutshell this is multipart in a sense that bokes take even longer to build, marines have melee weapon arm and sergeant has options for melee weapons? Very funky this, why not alternate poses like waiting, foot on ground or looking through binoculars?

Yeah, you're right.

I think the ATV driver having nearly the same posture is what made me immediately jump to Lawnmower.
