Lord Marshal
That's not a Warhound Titan... Quote The big news is Codex: Blood Angels is coming in spring 2027. Alongside that book will be new miniatures, including the return of the bearer of the Red Grail: Sanguinary High Priest Corbulo. This is just one part of some incredible Warhammer 40,000 releases coming in the spring for Xenos, Chaos, and non-Space Marine Imperial armies. As Adam also mentioned, there’s a datasheet coming in the December Warhammer 40,000 update for the Blood Angel Chaplain with Jump Pack, letting him use his iconic inferno pistol sidearm. Great for popping tanks and Terminators before leading the charge into the thick of the enemy. Inquisitor_Lensoven
Looks fantastic, but is he in gravis? if so he’ll be my first 40K purchase since the Eldritch raiders battle force. redmapa
God darn that artwork is top notch, reminds a lot of the 4th edition covers because of the texture it has, it really emulates real paint very well imo. I love that GW tries to distract everyone from the Warhound with these BA stuff that no one saw coming. 1 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/388768-sanguinary-high-priest-corbulo/#findComment-6194217 Share on other sites
Griefbringer
Please notice that he is Sanguinary High Priest. The actual model reminds me quite a lot of the original metal version - the one that was first released 30 years ago! I don't think it's meant to be a distraction so much as wiping away the tears of the BA Battleforce, especially with the Chaplain getting an updated datasheet to use the Inferno Pistol. 5 1 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/388768-sanguinary-high-priest-corbulo/#findComment-6194219 Share on other sites

darkhorse0607
Instant purchase. Corbulo needed some love (and I LOVE the designer who gave him the half mask option), and Adam said there are new miniatures (plural) coming so fingers crossed for Death Company Also I love that new art Edited Thursday at 07:18 PM by darkhorse0607 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/388768-sanguinary-high-priest-corbulo/#findComment-6194226 Share on other sites

Griefbringer
On a second thought, the rear of the collar has a bit of a "space vampire" look, that reminds me of the original Mephiston model. A bit of work with knife and file might help to lower it a bit, for those who would like a smoother style. 1 4 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/388768-sanguinary-high-priest-corbulo/#findComment-6194230 Share on other sites
Arkhanist
Gravis has much heavier boots and belly plating, and only his left shoulder has the top plate akin to assault intercessors, rather than the thicker plating on both of gravis. The other markers, heavier backpack and power cables from thigh to calf can't tell either way from the front. Only gravis bit really is the collar height, otherwise it's all tacticus with mk vii belly cables. Reads more just as Mephiston styling than anything else to me. Do like him a lot! Jukkiz
That´s a pretty funky glowup, something feels partly off though. Paint job most likely as it´s way too clean compared to originals gritty whites, also the hair feels less realistic, more of flat surface, which is even weirder. Guess sprue pics and paintjobs can save this Edited Thursday at 07:30 PM by Jukkiz 1 1 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/388768-sanguinary-high-priest-corbulo/#findComment-6194234 Share on other sites

Brother Lutheriel
I don’t really understand the timing of this post. Does it seem early to announce this? Or, don’t we have a codex or two in between now and this one? I’m not familiar with how they like to build hype, but it seems like a random Thursday drop months ahead of time is weird. Pretty sure it's because of the Christmas battleforce backlash, and the widespread "GW hates the Blood Angels" going off of Adam's comment in the video Edited Thursday at 07:50 PM by darkhorse0607 7 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/388768-sanguinary-high-priest-corbulo/#findComment-6194241 Share on other sites

Evil Eye
He looks nice! My only complaints are the tactical rock, which doesn't really contribute anything to the model (easy enough to remove mind you) and that collar, which is...ouch. That said, the collar should be easy enough to remove and that's the only part of the sculpt itself I don't like, otherwise I think they actually did a good job! Blindhamster
Just realised how sinister the paint job for the eyes is. i like the collar tbh, i always like the little nods to vampires, it’s not over stated so works imo. others don’t need to like it obviously, but he’ll be added to my collection “as is” for sure. 1 4 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/388768-sanguinary-high-priest-corbulo/#findComment-6194246 Share on other sites
01RTB01
That is quite the glow up and the face is fantastic. With what they're saying, I wonder what's coming in the spring. Blood angels, xenos AND chaos? Fun times ahead. If they drop blood angels and emperor's children at the same time, my wallet will weep. It is what sanguinius perished for. SvenIronhand
The collar itself is fine imo; it’s the pose on the rest of the mini that makes it look weird. If he were in a more normal standing pose, it would likely look aces. 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/388768-sanguinary-high-priest-corbulo/#findComment-6194249 Share on other sites
