Just realised how sinister the paint job for the eyes is.

i like the collar tbh, i always like the little nods to vampires, it’s not over stated so works imo.

others don’t need to like it obviously, but he’ll be added to my collection “as is” for sure.

Considering the flak they often get for faces, this is (imo) a superbly done face.

Pretty sure it's because of the Christmas battleforce backlash, and the widespread "GW hates the Blood Angels" going off of Adam's comment in the video

That makes sense. Thanks.

Absolutely adore all the firstborn elements on him, that torso is like 100% MK7, the arms seem to be as well, now if only they didn't put those damn ankle balls on his legs...

The collar i am 50/50 on. It is really cool but i prefer Mephiston being the only one to really go that far. It is still cool.

I am glad they gave him his chalice, the Sanguinary Priest having a tiny one in his belt was such a bafflingly awful choice (in a sea of terrible choices)

Our range is still god awful trash. More named heroes for our pile of them. As much as i love this model, i think our range is pretty much never gonna be worth dabbling in again. Unless they get rid of the new "Sanguinary Guard" and give us actual Death Company and our dreadnoughts, we don't have a range.

It just clicked why I think the pose is slightly off for me. He's pretending to be the Emperor's Champion.

(I know there's only so many ways you can hold something up, but his old sculpt felt like it had a bit more 'emphasis' on it being pumped up into the air if that makes any sense? Having one knee raised on something kinda detracts from the 'motion').

Screams CAD template to me when looked at like that.

He vants to suck your blood!

The irony of this being the one BAngel thats to GIVE you his blood lol.

Wonder if Sangi Priests kinda deal with their duty and the Thirst by standing in a circle and just biting the arm of the guy on the right?

The collar looks like the Blood bowl vampire team. Must be GW design code for vampires.

I think he'd look better without it. It doesnt have any practical function, beyond making him look like a vampire. Fangs would have been a better choice.

He sort of looks like he has a mullet now.

He's going to have a devil of a job moving his left arm without banging that pauldron off that collar.

You are right. The original was thrusting the grail aloft, the update is merely holding it aloft. Apart from that, lovely model.

I really like it! I may just pick it up to collect it as it's a really nice sculpt. It's interesting that they've gone for a more sinister vision with the vampire cowl and the eyes.

As an aside, the new codex cover art is beautiful. I was half tempted to pick up a Blood Angels Captain for Kill Team and this isn't helping.

The collar made me think old dracula costume instantly, but then I looked at old Dracula pictures and I am no longer sure why my head went obviously vampire inspired.

I do like the model and loved the artwork until my eyes left the Sanguinor and I spotted the Sanguiniary Guard. Stilla a great piece.

It wont bring me back to SM, but well done all around.

When I first saw it I really didn't like it, something was off, but I think the picture above tells me it's the creamy rather than cold white of the paintjob that's giving me the subconcious no, along with it being more prevelent with the much bigger (perhaps overdone) knee/shin detail. Personally I much prefer the drop over the chalice on his chestplate too and think the shouting face better fits the chalice aloft pose.

Better than Lemartes, about on par with Astorath, not quite Mephiston.

Pretty cool mini though.  Deferential to the past without being beholden by it.  IDK about the completely blacked out eyes; Corbulo thing isn't suffering from the Black Rage, it's about finding a cure.  Unless there's some forward motion with his story I may have missed?

GW paint jobs suck and are done for the sake of highlighting parts of the model.

Highly disagree. Lemartes looks ANGRY, and this guy is no different to another Sanguinary Priest but with a bigger collar.

The model is fine, but it's boring.

Really solid looking model. Optimistic for the rest of the updated range. Blood Angels absolutely deserve some proper love after how they've been kinda shafted compared to other marine chapters over the last couple years.

An early spring release also coincides with the predicted codex list from Spiky Bits. Has me a bit optimistic (foolish, I know) that they actually published something worth a damn and that the Guard codex might be out in late spring/early summer.

Overall I'm pleased.

The heads do present a problem for me though. Do I use the half mask head on Corbulo or save it to use on a future kitbash?

I am intrigued on how they are going to do the codex. They aren't referring to it as a codex supplement but as a full codex. Could that mean a return to full books for the divergent chapters, and hopefully bespoke rules for units shared with codex marines? That's my hope anyway. Could mean a chunky book but once you haul out the datasheets for chapter specific units and replace them with Blood Angels, it would end up roughly the same length as codex Space Marines.

Pretty nostalgic about this one.Mephiston and Corburlo were the first named characters I owned, I think this is a pretty decent update. I'm not sure about the collar. I find it odd how the clean white has been replaced by a sort-of cream off-white. Does this make it more consistent with other modern Blood Angel models?
