capt.nuss
Hi, im absolutely new to this forum and i started my first SM chapter about 3 months ago. Im posting to get opinions and and hints to improve my colour scheme, my painting style and all about my chapter in general and i found this forum so full of exeptional painters n gamers - i need to learn... . First of all, 'Tears of Medusa' has nothing to do with the "Medusa V" summer campaign - the name refers to the homeworld of my marines as a sucessor of the Iron Hands. I plan to use quite many Dreads - about 5 or 6 in the finished army - along with Termi Vet.Sgts, a Techmarine HQ and a lot of Drop Pods (looking a bit like tears)... ^_^ Does that make any sense?!? What would u improve? Do u like the pics? (my very first NMMs) Any tips for further conversions - ...better painting - ...better pics with my digiam ? This one is supposed to be my HQ http://www.deinearmee.de/praesentation/1146784101/bild1.jpg and these shall hang around with him... http://www.deinearmee.de/praesentation/1146784101/bild3.jpg My jumppack marines... http://www.deinearmee.de/praesentation/1146784101/bild2.jpg Some Marines from the two tac. squads http://www.deinearmee.de/praesentation/1146784101/bild4.jpg Brother "Stampfos" - in english probably something like 'brother stompy' - anyone got a better name at hand? http://www.deinearmee.de/praesentation/1146784101/bild5.jpg Brother "Sacramangus" http://www.deinearmee.de/praesentation/1146784101/bild6.jpg Brother "Mordus fidelis" http://www.deinearmee.de/praesentation/1146784101/bild7.jpg ...and a view how my army is supposed to look on the battlefield: http://www.deinearmee.de/praesentation/1146784101/bild8.jpg Im working on the Venerable Dreads already, and figuring out nice conversions for the Termis... As u can see, im still working on most of the figures, the signs on the shoulder pads are still missing and some details are unpainted, so consider my pics as what u call here "WIP" i think. Master Chaplain Astador
Welcome to the B&C! Your army looks very good so far. Very cool, I would like to see more pics though! The nmm is very good for first tries. Keep up the good work. Cheers, MCA. DragonmasterPeter
I like your theme a lot, especially the dreads and that drop pod (ESPECIALLY the drop pod). What's the fluff for your chapter? Wondering about the tear thing. Hope to see more of these guys soon  Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/86310-diy-chapter-tears-of-medusa/#findComment-998925 Share on other sites
Barret
Fantastic job on the colour scheme and the painting, they definately look like Iron Hand Successors. My only question is... I'm guessing your HQ is to be an upgraded Techmarine, given that he's got Servitors for a retinue. If so, where's his Servo-Arm? Other than that, as I said, ace job. : ) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/86310-diy-chapter-tears-of-medusa/#findComment-998930 Share on other sites

Brother Renn
Very nice paint job. I like it a lot. You've done a good job of modelling them to look like Iron Hands Successors. Not to keen on the missile launcher marine running forward while aiming his weapon, though. I'm pretty sure he should be standing still to steady his aim. Other than that, keep up the good work. capt.nuss
First of all, thanks to all who wrote such motivating comments :D . Im still working on the fluff and background and names a.s.o., because i have to read much more of the official fluff... @Renn Sorry, the missilelauncher marine is not supposed to run - he should be kneeling with one leg, but he hasn't got his base jet. :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/86310-diy-chapter-tears-of-medusa/#findComment-999070 Share on other sites
Bannus
I have a question: You have servitors to support your HQ-Techmarine, but he has neither a servo-arm or harness - standard wargear that is included in his cost. Why did you choose not to represent it? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/86310-diy-chapter-tears-of-medusa/#findComment-999122 Share on other sites
capt.nuss
The missing servo arms, flamer and other stuff has two reasons: - because he is my HQ and therefore the master of my chapter or at least this company i can hardly imagine him running around with a screwdriver. He is more some kind of commander to me, whose tasks are of a religious kind when he is not in the field - controlling the work of servitors and lower techmarines, but only working on machines himself when nobody else has the skills or status to do the task. I actually mostly use him to represent a Master of Sanctity, Codificier or even Captain. - my armys real techmarine is made of an imperial army techpriest with all the servo arms, plasma stuff aso. HE makes repairs, prays to armor plates and has the little oil can to get the creaking out of the dreads. U could not know that, i will upload a pic later if u like because hes only painted 50% a.t.m. When i've done all the HQ choices i plan i will probably reequip(sorry, is that an english word?) him... By the way.... i just read how u made the bionics for your iron hands - i'll try that this evening, lets see how it turns out. Penitent Dreadnought
Looks like the emperors storm. I was thinking 'Sons of Orar', personally. Then again, I saw some 'SoO' on the board recenly... firestorm40k
Very, very, very nice! A great scheme, nice conversions, and nicely painted. My only comment is to add some flock or something to some of the Tac marine bases. OTherwise, these looks fantastic! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/86310-diy-chapter-tears-of-medusa/#findComment-999623 Share on other sites
--Lord_Panthro--
Very nice mini's there Nuss! Nice work on the NMM as well! For a first try you've done great (better than me thats for sure)! I really like the paint scheme and the way you've modelled the mini's as well.. Awesome! Keep it up! capt.nuss
Thanks, i think i will not use metallic paint any more, i like the NMM much more. With a bit of practice i'll get that blendings done better i guess. Concerning the bases i have to say that the ones without flock are simply not ready... when im finished, all bases are supposed to look like the ones from the stormmarines (?) and the Techmarine. capt.nuss
So this is my first Ven Dread - pimped by german engineering - together with a bionic arm marine i tried yesterday http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j92/wieims/PICT0079.jpg http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j92/wieims/PICT0076.jpg http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j92/wieims/PICT0076.jpg http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j92/wieims/PICT0078.jpg And before someone asks.... it's not ready, its WIP Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/86310-diy-chapter-tears-of-medusa/#findComment-1000075 Share on other sites
Master Chaplain Astador
Looks very promising for only being a WIP. The bionic arm marine looks great! Keep us updated. Loyalist_Marine
Wow! Very Impressive, how long did it take you to get your army to this point? Im absolutely loving the ornate looking powerclaw on the dreddie, although it looks a little oversized for my taste :) . Keep up the good work and keep us posted. :P CHEESE FOR ALL Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/86310-diy-chapter-tears-of-medusa/#findComment-1000388 Share on other sites
Freebooter
God they look good. Feel free to add more pics, we won't complain about it, even those of us that are on 56K connections. capt.nuss
I think i'll also try some more bionics... a leg next. I've got a fluff question concerning that: If a Space Marine gets bionics, would he cut his holy armor appart just to show off his shiny new arm ? I mean if he gets a artificial arm, wouldn't he just put it in his usual armor ? Probably there will be some new pics this evening. @loyalist marine: this power claw is already the reduced size variant. :) It used to be twice as large and shaped nearly like an orkish one. I chose not to give him the usual CCW because that looked like he would fall over to the side with the LasCan. @Freebooter ermmm... if thats ironic, i didn't get it... :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/86310-diy-chapter-tears-of-medusa/#findComment-1000582 Share on other sites
capt.nuss
This is a Droppod i finished today, its bigger und an little different style than the 5-doored ones. http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j92/wieims/PICT0080.jpg This Marine was the victim for the legs bionic tryout. I think i'll usne the bionic marines as a veteran or command squad, as soon as i've got enough. http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j92/wieims/PICT0081.jpg http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j92/wieims/PICT0082.jpg I also finished the modelling of my ven Dred this evening, and primed it black... i think i'll have him painted in 1 or 2 days. Brother Stompy is just for size comparison. http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j92/wieims/PICT0084.jpg http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j92/wieims/PICT0083.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/86310-diy-chapter-tears-of-medusa/#findComment-1000913 Share on other sites
