capt.nuss
Hey Ho, im back. I had a great deal of work to do the last 4 weeks, otherwise my prof. would have killed me. From now on till new year i'll have time to work on my beloved Tears. Last days where filled with paint jobs for other people, but here's the next chapter member: Brother Tabescum Although he's not completely finished... http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j92/wieims/meltersgt3.jpg http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j92/wieims/meltersgt4.jpg http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j92/wieims/meltersgt5.jpg ...still details to do as the mechanicus symbol, the eye, the lamp aso. WIP http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j92/wieims/meltersgt2.jpg http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j92/wieims/meltersgt1.jpg His cape shows himself in the heroic moment at the Fersheld V. landing operation, where he brought down two chaos dreadnoughts all by himself with his melter. That and that alone asured the success of the whole mission. One of the perverted machines had ripped off one of his arms and left him badly injured. His recless fighting in this finest hour brought him the promotion to veteran sergeant und his crux, of course. Techmarine Lord Venorum - the chapter leader himself - crafted and sactified his new arm and eye. That way he learned his mechanical hands to combat as he did with his biological hands many years before. Gamewise he leads the melter-droppod-squad or melter-droppod-vet-squad. Usually he's equipped with power weapon and Combi-Melter. So.... as usual - C&C welcome. Let's see if it still works. capt.nuss
<_< Since noone really seems to like or dislike Brother Tabescum, here is the next - hopefully more controversial - project: a walking tank :D the pics are very WIP of course... http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j92/wieims/PICT0096-2.jpg http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j92/wieims/PICT0097.jpg http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j92/wieims/PICT0098.jpg The top can be changed using magnets easly to create a Rhino or Razorback. There will also be a top with a giant gun - played as walking Vindi. The Version u see here is Razorback with synch. heavy bolter. The size is exactly like standard vehicles. Of course it will be filed, greenstuffed and decorated before painting. I've got special interest in your opinions concerning: What name would be appropriate? spider? behemoth? lizard? ..? Do you like the model? would u accept it in a game? would you recognise what its supposed to be without an explanation? What would you improve or change concerning the basic model? Any special ideas concerning additional decoration? Any special ideas concerning the future painting? Please post any opinion - i can take critics, but no ignorance <_< ..think i need the pain ^_^ Oh - please don't write the legs are to short - i wanted that look. Ani
Reminds me of the Republic AT-TE. I like the stumpy leg look for it - looks stable and capable of a steady walk without too much wobble. As far as a name...how about... ...Land Crawler? ~Ani Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/86310-diy-chapter-tears-of-medusa/page/8/#findComment-1152792 Share on other sites
NemFX
How about Spud? .. No particular reason, I just think it works. Land crawler already exists.. It's a super-heavy tank, and someone already made and sold one on ebay.. Barret
AT-PT! It's an AT-PT! Timothy Zahn and Kevin J Anderson both talk about them. They're the early-Empire precursor to the AT-AT and a lot of them were on the Katana fleet. ... I'm...I'm just gonna go over there and stop with the geekness. angel robertson
Awsome additions to the army you have there! Ajo79
That's a realy impressive army! Awesome conversions, same goes for the painting. Crimson Wyvern
Loving the picture on his cape. Never was a fan of non helmeted marines though. I think he would look really good with a knight-esque helmet. Really he is cool though. the tank is very unique. I like the pattern on the side armor. Very..mm..almost like something from a church window pane. Very cool Idea though with the six legs. Can't wait to see more of them. Oh, and have I improved my aim with the assault cannon? Skyzerker
AT-PT! It's an AT-PT! Timothy Zahn and Kevin J Anderson both talk about them. They're the early-Empire precursor to the AT-AT and a lot of them were on the Katana fleet. ... I'm...I'm just gonna go over there and stop with the geekness. Wasn't the AT-PT a single crew machine, smaller than the AT-ST? They were in "Rogue Squadron". I second Ani in that this this is DEFINATELY an AT-TE-esqe machine. BTW @ capt.nuss: Everything you have done here is simply amazing! True, there have been criticisms, but if you like the models the way they are then keep them that way. They are yours after all. But again, everything looks great and I am looking forward to seeing more of your work. Driseamail
Actually, I'd say that it reminds me more of the tanks from Ghost in the Shell, at least to me anyway, so maybe call it 'Shirow' http://lide.uhk.cz/home/fim/student/fsstrad1/www/images/ostatni/robot.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/86310-diy-chapter-tears-of-medusa/page/8/#findComment-1153807 Share on other sites
capt.nuss
AT-PT, AT-TE, AT-AT.... i could nerver memorize what is what... :D The emperor himself sent me a spark of inspiration concerning the name: its a RAZORBUG ;) Think im gonna paint him today - pics probably by evening. Thanks for all comments, i always enjoy reading them and draw much motivation from that. @Barret Even considering the danger of making myself look like total noob: Who the hell are Timothy Zahn and Kevin J Anderson? @Brother Wyvernus If u like knight-esque helmets i'll soon have something for you. I'm planning on some nmm golden custodes played after grey knights rules. As far as i am at the moment they're gonna look quite nice... the tank is very unique Exactly what i wanted to hear :) Your aiming seems to be a little better now - the squad made a perfect kill of a nurglemarine mob . But as u and the machine brother fired at the same time, i can't say exactly WHO of you two made the best hits. Gonna roll seperate from now on... @Skyzerker Thanks man, but criticisms work good for me. Make the thread much more readable than a [PIC] ['wow']['amazing']['superb'][PIC]['wow'] ... - Thread i think. Magnus the red
that cloak freehand was amazing for some reason it reminded me of a starwars box. capt.nuss
Hey, long time no see... But now i'll show some more: First are a fleet of Droppods, ready to shock a whole 2500 pt. army. http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j92/wieims/PICT0106.jpg an open one: http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j92/wieims/PICT0104-1.jpg These are new half finished powerfist sergeants, for some CC power after landing... http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j92/wieims/PICT0097-2.jpg and the tacticals to join them in vet or tac squads: http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j92/wieims/PICT0098-1.jpg http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j92/wieims/PICT0101.jpg They usually come together with a couple of my dreads. very nice, funny, challenging way to play marines imho... NemFX
I like the pentagrams inside the drop pods, but the legs on the power fist weilders look a little too thin.. Crimson Wyvern
Those are very nice. The drop pods are excellent. Weathered yet taken care of duke to the perfection of cleanliness of th adeptus asartes. As always your marines are great. Sergeants are great too. Very dynamic poses. I personally like the center one who looks like he's gonna knock someones block off. My favorite marine out of this bunch has to be the plasmagun bolt pistol guy.He looks very ready to fight and also is smart and carries a weapon that won't sizzle him if his plasmagun overheats. capt.nuss
@ NemFX Dunno about the leg thing, i think it's just the perspective. @ Brother Wyvernus Yep, clean and shiny is the marines first duty ;) Gonna do some closeups when they are done. Being a Brother already until your death, u can't name the plasma guy :) . Go and polish n' wax your armour.
