Well been away for while and neglected my BT's (doing Eldar, heresy I know, SW and BA). Decided to give my bikes the 1st lookin, a bit of rebuild and revival and some brand new conversions.

Going for the really kinghtly look with these guys, lots of banners, ribbons, P-seals, BT icons etc etc. .

Marshal: Cant see to much, as said some older models needing some updateing and extra decor added.

Standard:This guy just counts as a sdtandard biker with bolt pistol. Of course might change next time BT codex gets(if) an update.

And somthing I have been meaning to do for a while. A reclusiarch or 'chaplin' on a bike, as the stock one GW puts out is a little naff. Sawed up the middle on his legs thru the scrolls hanfging from his belt, then across the waist. Turned out pretty well as the legs sit more or less perfect on the bike.

He'll have a P-fist and his power weapon, did want the Pfist on the right but couldnt find one that looked right. So, will be on the left holding the handlebars very carefully.

Not to sure to give him a storm bolter as well and make itbuilt into the front with the other two bolters or not. I got 5 pts spare on my 1500pts list for it.

Anyways, C&C please if you will.

I love the bikes, though as a fellow BT player, I'm questioning the Storm Bolter on the Chaplain thing. Since we can only have two weapons, and the Storm Bolter would make three. I'm not entirely sure how that works out though, since the Crozius is included standard and doesn't have to be bought from the Armory, but it does still count as a weapon. So I would assume that either the Power Fist or the Storm Bolter would have to replace the Crozius, but I'm not entirely sure.

Otherwise, the bikes look awesome, and make me sorely wish I had more money to buy some bikes and build and play with them =D

s.bloodhowl, thanks. Tried the storm bolter on the front wheel guard, didn't look right. What I might do is double up on the barrels on the built in bolters.

@Marshal Gruldin, thanks. You rise a good point, but the way I read it is tht you can. Would play it as storm bolter with the crozius stowed away while zipping around and if about to charge no shooting from the storm bolter as would holster that and start swinging the crozius and P-fist. But I know what youare saying, maybe the FAQ on the BT section will answer that, will take a looky.

Thanks for the comments both.

(found it)

Well that must be the first time I've found somthing like that so quickly, thanks to the guys who put it together.

Q: How many weapons can a chaplain take?

A: A maximum of 3.

Chaplains already have a Crozius Arcanum and may select 2 additional weapons as per the Codex: Black Templars wargear section (2 one handed weapons or 1 one handed weapon and 1 two handed weapon).

Mind you, that is the unoffcial one.

I really like the look of your set up, the only thing I would change is the 25x50 mm bases. If you can pick up some of the new bases that are rounded on each end they would accent your very nice conversions better imo. Either way nice models and have a great time with them!
Yeah, reading the Codex right now, and that does make sense, since he is equipped with the Crozius, and it says he can be given any equipment allowed from the Armory, making no mention of replacing his included wargear. Anyways, good looking models, and like greendestiny said, I would look into the newer 40k cavalry bases, as they look much better with the larger models.

The rounded bases do look good, but as I got these already I just used them. Also don't the rounded bases add like a few precious millimeters, so could make all the difference when my enemey is measuring the distance for range(shooting/assusalt).

I plan to run two groups in my next game, I just hope they have some durability. Never used bikes before really so don't know what to expect.

Thanks muchly Sgt. Aardappel, I go thru stages of not liking a model then loving it. So while I'm in the @biker@ kinda mood, thought I'd get them done up.

Update on the chaplin, ..well..I might of went over the top a little with him. I still have some BT purity seals to stick on him and some details on the base just as soon as they get here. But pretty much finished modeling him.

Also gave him the strom bolter, worked into the bolters on the bike.

...then again, might be just enough OTT.

As always, c&c welcome.

You will not get +1 Attack for 2 close combat weapons by using the Crozius and Powerfist together. Powerfists must be paired to give you the extra attack. The same is true of Lightning Claws and Thunder Hammers.

@Captain Mick, well I got the whole week off work, so should have most of them painted or at least the chaplin.

@Marius Perdo, They look great all together with all the banners an stuff flapping everywhere. Will do a group shot once all stuck together. And yeah, I was looking at what chaplins I had un-used lying around and was a choice of th BA chaplin, the GW stock biker one, or to stick bits together for a kit bash(which will be doing for the next one) and the one I used. Was just going to use the torso and head, but wanted to see how well the legs worked. So cut him up and the legs fitted perfectly on the bike FTW!. Was a bit awkward getting him to sit properly, so I used some well placed gubbins to hide that

.....just thought..painting this lot is going to be a right bi*ch.....bugger :D

Thats because you a lazybiZZLe, :P :P lol, jk.

I did concider that, but SM legs should be thicker than an Eldars leg. Was just way to small, I like my men chunky...oh wait... I mean..ahh f**k it. :)

You know what I mean.

Superb. Knights on bikes is my favorite conversion for the BT, and you have captured that in spades. I hope those aren't already glued to the bikes though, as they will be a royal pain to paint with all the nooks and crannies. They aren't much fun to paint even when compartmentalized actually, but Throne do they look awesome when done  .

I'm curious about a couple of bits..that cross emblazoned shield is from the Fantasy range, correct? I can't seem to place the skull reliquaries on either side of the front and gun-shield of the chaplain's bike though.

I'll have to refer to this thread when I finally get back to finishing up my own bike squad: lances get kinda boring :P . Keep it up!

Thanks very much Firepower, and yes they are glued on. I always tend to stick altogether then paint.

The emblazoned shield is certainly from fantasy, its a empire state troop sheild. The skulls on the bike are from cut off's from city of death sections and the top detail(sheild with winged skull) is from the ven dread kit.

and can't belive I'm up at this time on my holidays(its 8.39am and been up for an hour and a half :jaw: ), damn child, ill child who seems to have more energy then me and the missus put together. Time to check to see if mail order has come...

True about the rounded bases being a little bit longer than the others. I am not much of a player so it has never mattered to me. Also the guys in my group mearsure from the nearest piece of the actual bike model rather than the base. As far as using the bikers they always seem to die fast on me but they are the reason that I got into the hobby so I have a bunch of them anyway. I ride in "real life" so having bikes in my army is a must no matter if they suck or not.

Cool, I always liked the idea of BT's riding on bikes into battle, as many do with the whole man and steed thing. The main focus for my bikes I'm doing up is for anti-armour and light infrantry killing, would be good if you had an option to make them more CC focused. Will have 6 attack bikes so will probably use them more for the anti-armour role. Gameing aside, with this project I really just want to get all my stuff finished and painted.

C&C welcome

The other guys are on the way. Done the basic metals, banners, seals, etc and some detail. Not really intresting enough to clutter the thread with just yet.

Very nice! It has a real beaten up and dirtied look, which it should after zooming all over the battlefield. What do you do to paint the paper/cloth and mud in particular?

The one thing I would work on is tightening up and cleaning the scripture here and there. I know it's incredibly tedious and mind numbing, but fixing that one smudged/thick letter can make a marvelous difference surprisingly enough.
