@Thanks Darth Potato, No they are empire state troop gubbins. However WHfantasy bretonnia and empire bit are deffinatley worth getting to spruce up the ol BT's.

 

In the midst of painting that crusader sq, should have them done by the weekend. I got a dred to postas well but can't seem to get decent pics. :( Time for a new camera or something me thinks.

Well here are my first lot of meat shields..oh wait I mean Neophytes to join my crusader squad. A few quick chops and converted to running Neophytes. Can't stand SM scout heads, as they all look like bone heads and clones. Faces are to alike so used other heads which I think worked out nicely.

This one here looks like hes standing on that ruined building section, he i in fact standing on somthing at the back of the base. Rhino hatch weapon platform I belive.

Now that the modeling of the Neo is done, back to work on the LRR now that I got the bits. Added some little flames should look good once painted.

Well finished the LRR but pics will follow when painted.

 

On to my addiction which is making EC's. This time using BA SG bits. Think they turned out pretty well. Got rid of the blood drips and the knee pads, replaced with more chunky ones. From the fluff the EC is given the armour of faith, which by fluff is artificer and sounds kinda fancy. I plan to cover the bare armour parts in tiny tiny script, or at least try. Did have him with a bolt pistol out in hand but swaped it with the "your're next" finger arm. In fact I have forgot to model it holstered in around the back. DOH!

Was thinking of a once per battle use that gives a bubble to those taking part in said charge a USR or sorts to bolster the damage output. This I think would be very fitting in the BT army and might even see it if we get a new dex.

Excellent work as always. So many, many ideas to steal (why'd you have to come along with all this once most of my infantry was already done?! :lol:). Though why do you need a second EC? The Seth conversion was wicked....though if you don't want it any more, I could take it off your hands :tu:

The seth guy isn't a EC just a fun project and a IC for home games. I have a thing for the EC, at one point I had about 4 EC's. I took the most rubbish one apart for this one, kinda like a promotion for good work killing. And I bet you would.

I love it! Keep up the good work! Remember seeing some terminators in an older post of yours. If I remember correctly they were converted with running legs? Anything going on with them?

The one thing which pops out at me as odd is the lighting on the one guy's banner. I think a touch of orange or red near the source would help it out a lot: right now it just kinda looks like a yellow smear to me. Worked a lot better on the dreadnought though.

Love them. Really like the 'gritty' look you achieved on them.

Must say I'm not to keen on the OSL, but the rest is really super.

The dreadnought looks epic. Due to the 'moving/flowing' seals it looks like it just stepped out of an artwork! ;)

Thanks sterbTemplar, and yeah they get on here eventualy. Currently I have 3 full crusader squads and thier weapon replacement models, chapter banner that trumpet guy, the EC and a marshal to paint up. Then after that I'll probably get the CC terminators up. Of course that will all be broken up by modeling projects inbetween ;)

 

@Firepower, thanks andyes the checks are very stylish. I hear they are in this year. :sick: back at you lol.

 

@firepower& Dannis, I do agree, as alwways it doesnt look so intense in real life. My camera seems to be really picking up the colour in photos. So much so that a really dark grey (almost black) will show up as a messy grey. Yup thats right I blame the technology behind this. I'll prob add a little more orange to it and try to get rid of the yellow. But its just fot table top so maybe, maybe not.

 

@Dannis, glad you saw that, was going for exactly that, the "standing in the wind hero pose".

That marshal looks wicked, I always feel kitbashed characters don't have enough details on them compared to metal models but you've definitely given him plenty of junk to make him stand out! ;)

This is some really slick work! I like your modelling and your painting is also very nice. I love the Bretonnian banner in your crusader squad. The twinned purity seals on the backpacks is also really nice. Great job.

GW black spray

Thick highlight of dark grey

a slightly lighter grey and thinner highlight

a watered down grey, again thinner than the last

Then a dry brush of bleached bone to pick up extreme highlights.

 

Per 10 man squad it took about 3-4 hours on and off. Hadto go over it a few times to get it just right.

 

 

@cathar the great, thanks very much, always good to hear I got fans. The flying terminators will be in this thread at some point. Funny you should mention as I just had a PM the other day about the same Terminators. Havent touched that thread in ages.

 

Oh, was going to ask for feed back on the "crown" style things on theMarshals helmet. I thought it gacve it a very medieval/crusader king feel. Thoughts?
