@Firepower, cheers FP. I do prefer the function over form look.

The cloth and ribbons I do like this.

Undercoat chaos black, then apply a mix of bleached bone with skull white to lighten. probably a 65% bleached bone, and 35% white.

Then wash with dark mud by vallego, then a mix of dark mud and chaos black, about a 80%d-mud and 10% balck to darken and repeat the wash.

Then highlinght slightly with the B-bone/skull white mix.

The dirt: was dry brushed with bleached bone, followed by wash of dark mud, then another slight dry brush of bleached bone.

The script will be touched up, twas very late last night, abd wasnt seeing stright.

To all, thanks very much. Glad you like them. Should have the others done by the end of the week, work and Rl getting in the way.

I tried to warn you about those bikes :( . The damn things take forever, especially with all those added gubbins. Still, things are looking good, and your new boys have a lot of character. They got "Templar" written all over them, now you just have to add the "Black." ;)

Lol, yeah. Its not so much difficult but just burned out painting them same thing over and over. Probably finish them off once modeling is done on the cru squad. And cheers, they certainly have templar all over them. Massive use up of my BT upgrade parts (oh damn will need to buy more), but totaly worth it as they can't be mistaken as anything else. Will be going thru all the BT army I have and hopefully will get them all upgraded heavy on the templar parts, Sm, tanks, aircraft etc. Rather then the random shoulder pad or purity seal.

Should be frustrating getting the scounts/neo's into a running pose. Should be fun.

So taking a little break from legally playable models and decided to make a IC(guess what stats I'm using). My mate has agreed to this, giving the lack of IC in BTs. Running him a a HQ choice.

I give you brother Mass-aker(original I know)

Now should I use the helmet head option.

http://i1178.photobucket.com/albums/x370/EberiousTemplar/DSC06994.jpg

Or a BA bare head. Remembering hes got a iron halo.

http://i1178.photobucket.com/albums/x370/EberiousTemplar/DSC06993.jpg

C&C greatly welcomed, as I like both with equal mesure.

PS, I'm getting around to painting the other stuff... honest.

Forgot to say the helmet will have two studs and battle damage.

This guy reminds me of the Black Templar artwork on their codex I think? at least it was on the cover of a WD ages ago. And for that reason, I propose a third option; a bare head, bald, that's really scarred, like the artwork. Like the Imp Guard command squad head, if you know which one I mean?

If you can't be assed to do that just to make me happy then I vote for helmeted :thanks:

C&C welcome. Would be good as I have changed the way I paint to give it a go, so any feed back is most welcome.

Thanks both,

@shiningstorm101, cheers, let me know what he thinks.

@blackbabyjesus, I am in major need of all things Black Templar right now. As going through my entire BT army and upgrading them with all manner of BT parts, bretonnia and empire banners, ribbons, etc etc. Shame the bits sites I use are always low or out of stock, especaily on the BT parts. Where do you live?

Weapon name wise I can only think of "purifier", can't really think of any else and my search fu didn't turn up anything.

I live in the UK, but a jiffy bag of bitz costs next to nothing to post anywhere in the world. Bitz wise, I have all manner of weapons, icons, purity seals, censers, banners, vehicle doors (jesus christ, do I have vehicle doors) and just about everything in between. When building my own little crusade I must have bought at least 8 upgrade sets in total, and all I really used were the heads torsos and shoulderpads. Edited by blackbabyjesus

Hmm "Reaver" reminds me too much of the Blood Omen/ Soul Reaver video games, and "Purifier" I believe is already taken by a large flamer of one army or another.

I'm partial to High Gothic (latin) names for the more holy toys, including the EC's wargear, tank names, etc. Something like "Emperor's work (Imperator Opus, I believe)," maybe Rex Expello (Banisher of Kings, though I'm sure I've ruined the syntax), or Munus Electus (Chosen Duty, again the syntax is likely messed up).

If you'd rather stick to English and forgo any chance of grammatical errors and/or explaining it to everyone, maybe; Hatred's Hand, Dorn's Mercy, Witchflayer (thought this up for something unrelated a while back, but still an awesomely Templary name), Persecutor...that's all I got for now.

When toiling over a name, thesaurus.com is your friend. :)

@blackbabyjesus, yeah me to, vehicle doors coming out me ears. They are ok only so many times before they become to unchangeable to use futher.

If youre up for selling some or as a pile o bits, pm me a photo of what you got and maybe a price and I'll let you know. Nice one cheers.

@Firepower, I sit here with hand inface and feel slighty like a dumb a*s. I spent a little while looking for somthing and nout. Those are all awesome suggestions and will use one of them for sure. Which ever I can fit on the scroll on the C-sword. excellent stuff. cheers.

Well, while I wait for better weather to get some primeing done I started work on a LRR I got. Managed to carefully remove a set of re-enforced armour off an older tank, still broke into bits(damn that FW resin). Still it adds t the battle damage and general wear and tear of X amount of years service.

Basic side shot, the chains along the bottom are stuck with blutack to show where they are going to go. Won't be able to finish this for about 2 weeks due to bits site not sending anything out until after the 3rd.

Never really a fan of having a BT SM stuck up top manning a gun when he could be down on the ground grinding up flesh with a chainsword. So this time built a automated MM turret. Will probably do the rest of my LRC like this when I get around to them in this revival project.

Another interesting toy you've made there. I agree with your take on the MM turret. Is it just a simply matter of the back of a Jump Pack smacked onto the back of the shield? I'm also curious about the source for those chains along the lower edge.

Thanks largely to your work, I ordered a handsome supply of Empire/Bretonnian bits for some banners and shields. Unfortunately, the postal service has been dragging its heels, and I doubt I'll have time to put them to use before I have to pack my brushes for another half year. ^_^

Thanks Firepower, and yes it is, obviously cut and filed to fit and a little green stuff to fill in the gaps. The chains are from the bretonnian command set, or bretonnia section on the bits sites I use. You can't go wrong with WF bits when it comes to spiffing up your BT's. Odered two coal burners for the top back area, will add some Gst flames. Whether they will work out or not we'll have to see. As long as they aren't to big should be good. Edited by Eberious

Just wanted to drop in and say that your Templars look great, man. In particular I really like that power fist Initiate. :)

I'm not too familiar with bits outside of 40k, but are those seals and small swords attached to the backpacks Bretonnian bits?
