Angels Sanguine for 8th Edition

Good Day B&C!

 

So, I have come back to my roots so to speak. Some of the older members may remember me from years back when I had an Angels Sanguine army. They were my first real army and when I got dark imperium I couldn't decide what to paint the primaris as...

 

Angels Sanguine won!

 

To that end I then went on ebay as I am an idiot and lo and behold picked up a load of stuff! None of this is my painting but I plan to re base a lot. Then change bits to suit my style. So few highlights. Different shades etc and then get to work on the primaris.

I will prob have a go at a scout to ease my way back in as I currently have Iron Warriors for 30k and Deathguard and Tau for 40k on the go! So lot's to be doing. Plus I am buying a house! So I will update when I can.

 

On the gaming side I haven't played since 4th I think. But it looks like BA are taking a kicking in 8th... Thoughts?

That's one good looking army you got there.

 

Regarding how we are doing, it's hard to say. If you stack character buffs we can be quite useful but you're paying a tax in HQ's and elites for the privilege.

 

It really depends on your local meta. A lot of other armies have an easier time coming up with very solid (and fluffy) lists that are going to take marines down quickly. Anything that takes down marines will also take us down. So I think a lot of us are still trying to get our footing to see what works and what doesn't.

Yeah I would like to see what happens with our codex... Should make it a bit more interesting. 

 

Also, is there still an angels sanguine transfer sheet floating around?! Sure I saw one some time ago?

There's no longer any official GW/FW transfers, but you could make your own using one of the designs in the downloads section of the forum.

Alternatively, Pop Goes The Monkey have started putting curved icons intended to be put on shoulder pads in their shapeways store and Angels Sanguine are among those done so far.

Quality find that! Need to get those decals for sure. I am working to get my first scout finished then I will try a marine then get the primaris built. Just finishing some iron warriors and Tau at the moment.

Nice. Got some decals and pads on order. Should make life a lot easier!

 

I have been working on my first scout as I said. This was an ebay scout with pretty much all the base colours down. So I have been taking each colour up a few highlight layers. Brightened the cloak both sides and just need final highlights on the red and black. Should I camo the cloak or not?

I didn't put camo on my scouts cloaks, instead painting then red, and I haven't lost one since then. Previously, they were black and grey camo, and I kept leaving then at stores or friends houses.

Hahaha thats made me laugh. Well I will keep them camo free for the time being but I finished the first scout!
