Iron Hands Fanatic

still a long way to go on the painting front, but got my full 3k Iron Hands Pride of the Legion list all built for a couple games this week

Finally got around to converting one of the new Praetor minis into a Delegatus for my Iron Hands - for the time being the cape isn't glued in place so I can spend an eternity melting chainmail links into it

alas, I think it's a problem at your end I'm afraid - I've checked the post while logged out on a number of different browsers & devices and they've all loaded fine there are quite a few high-res images from external links in there that take a minute to load so you might be experiencing issues dependant on your internet connection but the post itself is fine all the images are on my instagram, which is linked in my sig if you're still having issues

hehe thank you funnily enough though they were part of the same building spree, the deliverers were the penultimate unit of these I put together (before the bikers), but after this pic was taken I subsequently went back and distributed a bunch of parts from the corvus cabal kit I'd used for them across the minis to try and get a little of that flavour across the force

right, not pictured but all these are now based so I'm just waiting for a decent time to prime them might as well finish off the 5 remaining scouts I have primed in the meantime

Hey folks it's been a hot minute - I'm not sure whether it's still worth posting here but on the off chance anyone's still interested I got my 1.5k Iron hands force finished! They've since had their base rims painted and have some unpainted reinforcements in the form of 5 gorgon terminators, 10 seekers, a spartan and another boxnought (plus a delegatus, contemptor and 5 more cataphractii sitting unbuilt) The Age of Darkness box plus a hobby project with some pals (check out Annie_Minis on youtube for a Tale of X Gamers series I'm part of) has also got me started on the Raven Guard element of my Shattered Legions force finally, with a Vigilator, squad of Despoilers & 5 Scouts painted and a whole lot more built in the painting que.

finally got together the bits to kitbash together the Raven Guard Deliverer photobash I did a few months back, very happy with how the layered feathers kinda give off a Sons of Horus vibe

More Raven Guard on the pile (despoilers, vets & recons) - I really need to get back to painting but I'm on a bit of a roll at the minute

Finished up the build for my raven guard veteran squad - heavy bolter marines get power swords, sergeant gets paired ravens talons and the rest have lightning claws: and post-bedazzling

Finished off the 1st half of my Raven Guard scout squad, finally settled on this scheme now

they're a bit hard to parse due to being mid painting but here are mine, converted from normal 40k scouts - one benefit of the re-scaling of Mk6 is that the smaller bare heads now work pretty well with the scout scale, hence me using all 8 masked heads from the main Mk6 sprues in the AoD box (with some hair transplants)

Given the Legacies of the Age of Darkness PDF for the Legions ported indomitus terminators, thunderbolts, avengers and a bunch of imperial army tanks over to the Legion list, I'm curious whether we'll see some of the 40k AdMech plastics make an appearance as new Mechanicum units

First raven guard (despoiler) squad finished off - I'll be basing them alongside the squad of scouts I'll be working on next

Given I'm collecting a Raven Guard force for which I've committed to no dreads or tanks, definitely speeders, jetbikes and bikes I'd honestly like to see some more/ specialised infantry though - it's been great seeing all the main tanks/ dreads coming to plastic but there's a lot of the core units of the list that are pretty difficult to build now. I'm really hoping we at least get dedicated kits for all the remaining core compulsory troops, plastic breachers would fly off the shelves and a 5-strong Mk6 despoiler sprue (with more aggressive poses and chainswords + bolt pistols in place of the bolters/ chain bayonets) would be the same size as the current Mk6 one, and the command upgrade sprue for every 10 could easily be packed with special weapons given they wouldn't have need for the bayonets & holsters - then you could just provide a jump pack upgrade set akin to the heavy weapons ones to turn them into assault marines
