I asked for rules to use the Forgeworld Mechanicum models in games of 40k, as was promised with the (now cancelled) Fires of Cyraxus book.

Be warned that some Warhammer stores are not receiving their weekly shipments either. I have been a couple of times in my nearest store and they did not have yet the "new releases" of the previous week. Covid and Brexit related issues (expecially Brexit, for those of us that are in continental Europe).

If You Couldn't Play, Would You Still Collect?
Grand Master Laertes replied to Blank Dave's topic in + AMICUS AEDES +
The simple answer? Yes, I haven't played since 7th edition, and still I kept buying and painting models. The longest answer: I have different approaches in the two situations. When I have time to play I focus on adding new units to my army and painting them fast, in time for the next game. When I don't play I collect and paint whatever catches my fantasy, even if I don't plan to ever collect that faction, trying to learn new techniques and improve my skills. -

According to an interview with Jervis Johnson back in the days of the 2nd edition, everyone involved in wh40k decided that squats were a bad idea and should not come back, so it's not just Alan or Jes. Waiting for the mailman...
Grand Master Laertes replied to HighMarshalAmp's topic in + AMICUS AEDES +
I am waiting one order that was shipped by GW on the 8th of June and still hasn't arrived... UK to Italy -
They've previously been asked to make the full WD back-catalogue available as a digital product, but they've said that it'd take too much work to optimise them correctly for digital consumption (this was despite the person asking saying a PDF is fine, and generating a PDF from a DTP application should be easy ...) (I can't remember whether that was on Warhammer Community or in a recentish White Dwarf) Consider that each issue is composed by many files, so you'd have to generate 10+pdfs for issue and merge them together. Multiply it for the number of released issues and add the fact that surely gw changed its dpt software more than once in the years, and that the oldest files might be read correctly by the latest versions of the software... So, yeah, it is NOT easy at all, and it would be extremely time-consuming

TITH I completed the model that had been sitting the longest in the unfinished pile: bought and started 16 years ago! How liberating!

The future awakening of humanity as a psychic race has been in the lore since the days of Rogue Trader as the greatest threat (the Emperor even launched the whole Great Crusade to help mankind avoid such fate). Just imagine all the humans in the galaxy becoming as psychically attuned as the Eldar where before the Fall: it might be the birth of a new Chaos god (but this won't happen, I think). So, I am inclined to think this will be a story event, and a pretty big one too, as it won't be focused on a single planet, but spread in the whole galaxy.
