  1. Looking good, Love that Chaplain and SlashMarshal!
  2. Me! If it's transports and units I have one of each New in Box ready to be vowed. I was planning to submit them to the fists expansion also, and that allows until November which I hope to smash by at least 6 weeks!
  3. I've just read this thread from start to this point and I must say it was a bit of a rollercoaster. I don't have any whines or suggestions for how we counter the heretics (i'll leave that to the pros). I just want to raise these two points: I didn't choose to play Black Templars because they're the best (I only started my crusade in October, and 7th was a rough ride!), and I'm sure many others are the same. I chose them for the passion ZEAL they represent, and the flavourful lore that in my mind set them apart from the other more bland chapters. The strength of Marines is the flexibility, and I love the flexibility of our Crusader Squads. I believe they are the most adaptable in the codex. This is where our power lies. We are able to be either a Jack of All Trades, or a Master of both! If you want to tailor your squads to shoot the enemy, do it! If you'd rather butcher them up close, do that instead. And with the new version of Objective Secured (I forget what its called) our Infantry are even more tactically adept than the smurfs themselves Secondly, as a community player, I have no problem with Chaos being stronger than they have been. Most of the chaos players in my group rarely turn up for game nights as they have not enjoyed the past two editions at all. And ultimately, the background demands a strong Chaos to represent them properly on the tabletop. As we learn how to beat them, we will only become stronger!
  4. I'm very much interested in this. I hate it when you rock up to a game and start pulling your models out of your bag/case to find them snapped, and then having forgotten your glue end up embarrassingly pushing round lopsided models. Makes me feel sad :( My Tau have a TableTop Tyrant bag that I pick and plucked to suit, as well as a small GW case (the old style) with the foam cut up to make compartments. This works well, but they're all magnetised to the Nth degree, and Tau (or t'au) have very few pointy bits. My Marines are currently spread between another small GW case and two shoe boxes with a ludicrous amount of bubble wrap. But this isn't even ideal for my box shaped marines so not even an option here. KR is what I'm planning. Getting them custom made according to the models I have/foresee having soon after, and putting them in a large seethrough plastic box (ReallyUsefulBox is a brand in UK, but they're pretty universal I'm sure). I'm going to get the deep ones where you put a model in base first rather than on its side as you would infantry to prevent them moving around too much too.
  5. Coldstar must've benefited majorly from no longer having to take grounding tests (such a stupid rule interaction for the Fail-Star). Your points about ATS and TargetLock are spot on. I think (though my play testing of 8th is minimal so far) that although split fire is a thing, its still better to focus fire as we would have before, particularly for small-medium arms.
  6. Stunning! Love your use of colours to accent them in places. Also the bases are a nice touch, with every one being different suggesting they've spread out. Top job!
  7. Now that's commitment Cennar!
  8. I like each and every Character model they've released, but I still can't see one leading my Templars in the field. Maybe the Ancient could feature... Though again, my headcannon cant see a new pretender carrying the crusade's banner. Surely he hasn't earned that honour straight out of the test tube? When I first saw the Reivers I instantly hated, the skulls especially. But I've since cooled on them. Still... not sure I'd be getting those, especially seeing as they're snap fit and not poseable. Hopefully they'll release MultiPart kits later, like they did with AOS.
  9. I agree on the Devilfish chassis being a favourite. Its so fluid in design which makes it stand out from all the other factions/races. On that note, I personally love the look of the Sun/Razorsharks, but had to ignore them in 7th. Now 8th appears to have made them useable (albeit still not fantastically brilliant) I will be getting one.
  10. No actually, I was being lazy with my typing! Currently equipped with CCW & HvyFlamer, Ass.Cannon. I meant I wanted to find the points to squeeze in the Twin HvyFlamer instead of the Assault Cannon.
  11. So I'm going to have my first True 8th ed game tomorrow, against Orks. I've played a 2v2 with small 25 pwr per person, and another 50 pwr 1v1 but neither game have been 'properly played' so tomorrow is the first. No idea what he's bringing, but I'm expecting the standard units. My plan is: Vanguard Detachment Chaplain Terminator Assault sqd x 5 w/ LC 5x Vanguard w/ Jumpack, 2x PwrSwrd/SS, serg has LC and then 2 chainswords Ven.Dread - Flamer & Ass.Cannon (I really want to find the points for the hvyflamer) Batallion Helbrecht Emperor's Champ Crusaders - 8x Inits Flamer, Axe, PwrSword, 5x Neophyte Crusaders - 5x Inits Grav Cannon, Grav Gun, CombiGrav Crusaders - 5x Inits Grav Cannon, Grav Gun Crusaders - 5x Inits M.Melta, Melta Gun, CombiMelt Crusaders - 5x Inits M.Melta, Melta Gun Crusaders - 5x Inits Lascannon, Plasma Assault Squad - 5 off. I don't have any with flamers :( Land Raider Crusader. Looking forward to it, but its highly sub-optimal as I'm still at the 'lets throw these models down and see how they work' phase, hence all those heavy weapons. Missile Launchers would obviously be the best here, but due to being a new initiate in October, and building towards 7th ed, I don't have any made up. I could proxy them though. Walking marines never used to work that well, but we'll see how it goes. Will report back!
  12. So for the wyches they'll use the same scheme above for their kabalite armour then the standard black for their 'wych suits'. As for which 'cult' (*ahem*) well I'll just see the rules and decide what one suits me best. Same for Last Hatred tbh, its just a colour scheme for now. Lileth will just have to pretend she's a normal Succubus until I get a standard model if the Cult of Strife rules don't tickle me. I finished the purple on all 15 last night. I've used a mix of dry brushing, washing and highlighting to get there so now I'm onto the black half and the wych flesh. After them, I'm going to roll a die and choose which of the other 5 unit types I'll paint next (though I may leave the mandrakes for a while as they least interest me fluff wise). Seriously I cannot use the word Which in this area of the forum now without wanting to pun..
  13. Nice! As I've just posted, this is the precise scheme I'm looking at, so please take it as a compliment if you find some copy cat models posted on my thread!
  14. Thanks for the welcome! Yeah, first purchase once I'm done and ready is a Start Collecting box, Archon and Haemonculus, followed by another Raider, Ravager, and maybe some Grotesques or something else. I've painted 5 kabalites so far and made a start on the Wyches. http://i.imgur.com/4zbNhyc.jpg Last Hatred as you can see. I like the purple. My Wyches and Coven will follow the similar scheme to tie them all together. Im not a competitive player, so I'm just going to get what I think's cool, but i see the army as being a Kabal with Raiders backed up by a Ravager and some other units. Wyches in Venoms with Hellions, Reavers and Razorwings, then a Hired Coven with haemonculus, looking after his creations - Grotesques & Pain Engines. I just hope i can fit them all in!
  15. Around 2 months or so ago I decided it was time to think about another new army. It was a toss up between Necrons and Dark Eldar and this is where I ended up. I own two other army, Tau and Black Templars, both have entirely opposing playstyles. And with the Dark Eldar I'm looking forward to having a third! I picked up a job lot of secondhand models, in varying states of painted/built/NIB listed below: Lileth, 15x Wyches 10x Kabalites 5x Hellions 5x Mandrakes 2x Venoms (unbuilt) 1x Talos/Cronos (unbuilt) 2x Razorwing Jetfighters In the long run I'm hoping to field a mixed Kabal/WychCult/Coven list featuring a bit of everything, just as I see it in the fluff. Will largely be a lurker in this section of the forum until I've got an idea of where I'm going but I'll be around, and may even post a few photos of my minis as I paint them up.
