Old vs New MKII
Old vs New
Been a while, but here we are again. I think I got burnt out a little rushing the Armaggeddon marines so haven’t been doing much on the ork side. I did get in a CP game yesterday. They only had the old Eyes of Ultramar set, which doesn’t have 11th edition rules. They had the datacards so I just assigned them the DA mission so we had different missions for the game.
We fought on map B, I forward placed the Captain, vanguard and landspeeder. The librarian lead the intercessors and was on the home objective to start. They had Tigrius leading the Intercessors and the Reivers on their home objective. Bladeguard and Aggessors on the flank.
(I removed half the Intressors after the picture cause the CP only has 5)
Opponent was new and honestly thinking back I should have explained ‘Hidden’ as that might have save them a marine or two. So got first turn and moved the assault group up. Only shot I had was against his aggessors in cover. Dropped one to a missile shot. They repositioned everything, moving Tiguris’ unit forward, but didn’t have the distance to get past the terrain. Reivers ran to the other side of the home objective. Aggessors and bladeguard moved forward to capture an objective. They were basically shot blocked and they decided against assaulting into the vanguard vets, ok then.
Landspeeder moved over and took the opponent’s home objective, vanguard vets and captain prepped to assault Tiguris unit. Tiguris overwatched at the vanguard and managed to wound one. They fired back, dropping one to a plasma round, though it overheated and finished off the wounded vanguard. The landspeeder put another missile into the aggessors, killing another one. The rest of the fire went into the intercessors and dropped all but one. Vanguard and the the captain pincher charged Tiguris and the vanguard did enough on their activation to wipe out the pair. They consolidated to the objective to add weight to capturing it.

The Reivers moved back into the fray, getting between the vanguard and the captain. The bladeguard moved to support while the last aggressor pulled back into the cover of the objective. The aggessors then fired onto the Vanguard, killing one, they then fell back around the corner of the terrain to get out of LOS of the reivers. The Reivers and bladeguard focused on the captain, but failed to do any damage. The reivers still managed to catch the vanguard with a good charge roll, the bladeguard failed to close the distance to the captain however. The captain then used his Master of War ability (a better free Heroic Intervention) and joined in against the reivers.
Reivers scored a wound on the vanguard and two on the captain, but lost all but one of their numbers to the response. Which wasn’t too bad considering the amount of 5+ saves they had to make. Do to casualties the captain was free from the combat. So I consolidated on to the objective. The vanguard could handle one reiver. Intercessors moved up and i focused on the bladeguard. Between the intercessors and landspeeder, I dropped two of the bladeguard, the landspeeder’s missile failed to wound the aggessor this time. Captain charged the bladeguard and finished him in melee. The vanguard actually failed to wound the reiver, who then finished the wound vanguard.
At that point my opponent gave, they had a reiver and an aggressor and I only lost three vanguard.
Quick, brutal. The Assault force is ok. I’m not sure I might have handled the Ork CP considering it out-numbers me almost 3:1.
I also realized I didn’t post the completed Bane-Slayer’s Bulwark, so here they are.
Next ones on the docket is the Ork, Guard, and Eldar. Mostly due to my FLGS is going to have a eldar event in September and I just need to finish five more Death Riders for the guard one to be complete.
Thanks for reading
