Metal Head Armory is going to be a doing a slow grow league for Horus Heresy after we are done with Athoria Slow Grow League in January. 

 

Horus Heresy 3.0 Slow Grow Campaign

Return to the Khymara Sector – Defense of Praxia

Duration:: February 2026 - August 2026

Starting Points: 10000 pts

Monthly Growth: +500 pts per month (up to 4,000 pts by August)

Entry Fee: $TBD- For  Shirt

 

 

The fires of Istvaan spread unchecked, and now the Galcoran Reach burns. Word of Horus’ betrayal has reached this distant sector in the galactic north, now caught behind the Warmaster’s inexorable advance toward Terra. Ill-prepared for rebellion, the Reach erupts into chaos as warlords, forge-priests, and rogue commanders gather their strength in the Tarkath Sub-Sector, the industrial heart of the region and its last hope for resistance or domination.

 

Campaign Structure

Players are divided into two factions:

  • Loyalists (One Individual will be selected as Supreme Commander)
  • Traitors (One Individual will be selected as Supreme Commander)
  • Other (One Individual will be selected as Supreme Commander)

 

Teams should remain balanced, so please let us know if you’re flexible on which side you’d like to play.

 

Each month represents a new battlefront in the Tarkath Sub-Sector of the Galcoran Reach, with:

  •  A unique star system
  • A custom mission
  • Special campaign rules
  • Special Scenaro games

 

Pairings and mission packets are released on the first weekend of each month. 

Lower points more games 1000-1500 pts 3 games; 1501-2000 2 games; 2001-4000 pts 1 game

 

Lists are updated monthly; new 500pt increments must be submitted by the end of the first weekend each month.

 

List Writing Restrictions

  • No Characters with the Unique Special Rules
  • Your first 1000pt list MUST contain a Centurion that will Represent you through the Campaign
  • No Praetors at 1500 points or below. 

**From list to list you:**

  • can add units

  • can add options (including prime traits) and models onto unit

    • If a Sgt started a game with a bolt pistol and decides that he wants a plasma pistol on the next bump he can take the plasma pistol but after can not go back to bolt pistol

  • cannot remove units

  • cannot remove options and models from units

  • can add and remove detachments

  • can redistribute existing units across your detachments as long as you fulfill the core rules requirements for building a legal list

How to Score Points

Each month you can earn up to X points for your team:

  • 5 points fully paint this month’s 500pts
  • 2 Points for a Win, 1 point for a Tie, 0 points for a loss 
  • 1 point for your army's short story about the battles

 

Lore passages should be 1–3 paragraphs describing your battle, your commander, or your force’s actions that week. All points contribute to your team’s total to determine control of the current system at the end of the month.

 

 

Monthly Outcomes and Finale

  • The faction with the most points at the end of each month wins control of that system.
  • Victorious factions gain a small strategic bonus for future games.
  • The campaign will culminate in a massive Apocalypse-scale battle to decide the fate of the Khymara Sector

Slow Grow League Additional Rules:

  • No permanent deaths
  • Starting warlord must remain as your warlord*
  • Enhancements can be changed
  • Once a unit is added to the army, they stay in the army. So your initial 1000 pt force will be in the force at the end of the league
  • Unit size can be increased if not take at maximum starting strength, units can not be reduced if taken at maximum starting strength.
  • Additional resources may be given or acquired depending on your score.
