  1. I like that as a twist, working around no librarians, I'm trying to figure out a way to do the same things with my DIY. So I'll follow your ideas for inspiration and to hopefully avoid being a carbon copy. I'm liking where you've gone so far with story and background, so I'm hoping to see this one finished.
  2. I've been looking at those templates, and all of his stuff, for a while, and I've noticed that they aren't always exact, like you said. It's nice to know that a, I wasn't imagining things, they really are different sometimes; and b, that you found ways around the differences. I'm very impressed with how you've gone about this build, can't wait to see it finished.
  3. But the magos is talking about replacing the perfection of the Emperor's gift with machines. And if I remember correctly, some factions of the Mechanicus revere the Emperor as the Omnissiah. Or as something to do with him anyways. So it did seem odd indeed, but depending on her point of view it still seems valid. I enjoyed the way Rauth was portrayed, and how when the guard general tried to force his hand the reaction he had was well we will push on.
  4. That review, and most other ones I've read give me hope. It looks like this will be a fantastic read.
  5. I think as a chapter they're in safe hands. The Battle for the Fang was a pretty good read, and it seems the author did his best to write the Hands to the same level.
  6. I'm not as immersed in the fluff for the Hands as Bannus, though I wish I was, but I think this is a pretty good way to run a new turn for the chapter. I'm not liking how on the other forum they go the route well they're all traitors because they don't care about individual humans. I think they're focusing too much on one human versus the whole system. I also though like the way that the Hands are described in the Deathwatch RPG, with some going as far as nearly being obliterators, while it seems a little over the top, in some ways it really does fit for the mindset of the chapter. Just my two cents mind you.
  7. Ace, this is either one of the best ideas I've read recently, or the best joke on the forum. It fits perfectly in the universe, minus the threats for mindwiping and retasking as a servitor, and I can't stop chuckling. This is a very good piece of work, thanks for sharing.
  8. @Shinzaren, parts of your post were awesome, I was really L.A.F.F.ing lol @Castiel and Ace, I'd say you both hit the nail pretty good, the marines with the gold trim, blue bodies and upper legs are looking pretty solid.
  9. Well alright then, that answers that, too bad though.
  10. Wow, as good as the quartered looked, just wow. But what about halving it? Any known chapters use that scheme?
  11. I like the start of your fluff, good solid start. The colors still seem kind of busy, might I suggest a halved or quartered paint scheme, and use the blood angel helmet colors?
  12. Well I have two recommendations, first change the shoe/boot color to the blue of the greaves, the red looks kind of like clown shoes. My other recommendation would be try and get the attention of Ace Debonair or some of the other Liberites, they play much more with color theory and such, great work they toss out. I do like your idea, but something with them seems just a little off to me. Good luck though.
  13. Well I like the colors for the chapter, and if I remember correctly, your assault marines will have yellow helmets, devs blue? I'm thinking that your marines could look a little busy, but until I actually see them I could be wrong. I can't comment on much else yet, but keep on chugging.
  14. Ace, didn't you have an earlier version of the Dragons bouncing around on here many moons ago? The name keeps making me think I've seen it before.
  15. Wow Ace, I read the earlier thread about limiting creativity, finished reading it, and lo and behold, you've been true to your word, posting the Steel Dragons list almost instantly. Love reading your IA's and hope this one is to the same high standards.
