Hi folks, The announcement of a resuming of the Call to Arms’ challenge for the third consecutive year has set my mind in turmoil. Every year this event is a key incentive to reach new milestones in completing assembly and painting of these numerous minis stuck in Piles of Shames. For me 2023 has unlocked a very serious progress: I resumed an Aeldarii project stopped at least a decade before Crafworlders changed from Eldars to Aeldarii. This cleaned part of my backlog and allowed a revival of this first (second in fact) love (once the concept is applied to 40k factions). Additional entries for the Imperium faction helped progressing on my 2023 New Year/New Army (AdMech) and cleaning down remaining ooP SW vehicles. 2024 also contributed to reduction of my carry-over but in a lesser extend: the challenge allowed me to complete my AdMech Force with lesser investments. It also included some Scenery and a few Drukharii bought to complete the Ynnari orientation of the Aeldarii built in 2023. But volume was lower; My consolation is that quality increased. Or at least it is what I like pretending. Biggest lies are the ones you address to yourself. But I clearly progressed if one compare with my early (90’s era) works (now largely cancelled/repainted. 2025 is going to be very similar to 2024 I guess. Mainly because I have less time and less minis in the queue. And also because what remains is still related to Pointy ears and AdMechs. Let’s check the inventory I made. It covers most of my 30k/40k back log once excluded a kitbashed LR, some hacksawed metal models and a serious amount of ooP EPIC squats and SM. UNIT FORUM SUBFORUM HEADCOUNT POINTS PER HEAD SUBTOTAL Corsairs Xenos Aeldarii 10 1 10 Corsairs - kit bashed Xenos Aeldarii 10 1 10 Corsairs - kit bashed Xenos Aeldarii 5 1 5 Succubus Xenos Drukharii 1 5 5 Archon Xenos Drukharii 1 5 5 Kabalites Xenos Drukharii 10 1 10 Wytches Xenos Drukharii 10 1 10 Raider Xenos Drukharii 1 5 5 Venom Xenos Drukharii 1 4 4 Rangers Xenos Aeldarii 5 1 5 Ghostwalkers/proxy Rangers Xenos Aeldarii 5 1 5 Icon Xenos Aeldarii 1 1 1 Shroudrunneurs Xenos Aeldarii 3 2 6 Neophytes Xenos GSC 5 1 5 Spore Mines Xenos Tyrannides 10 1 10 Autarch Xenos Aeldarii 1 5 5 Wayseekers/Warlocks Xenos Aeldarii 2 5 10 Serberys Sulphurhounds Imperium AdMech 3 2 6 Sicarians Imperium AdMech 5 1 5 Pteraxii Imperium AdMech 5 1 5 AM HQ Imperium AM 5 1 5 AM HQ Imperium AM 5 1 5 Skatros Imperium AdMech 1 5 5 Axiarch Imperium AdMech 1 5 5 AM Squad Imperium AM 10 1 10 AM Squad Imperium AM 10 1 10 AM Squad Imperium AM 10 1 10 Carnaudon Imperium AM 1 5 5 Nemesis Claw Chaos CSM 10 1 10 Necromunda Siberlant / Proxy Manipulus Imperium AdMech 1 5 5 Ghostwarriors Xenos Aeldarii 5 1 5 .xlsx is my fav list making tool… It brings me to a split into forums that makes the Xenos faction ahead with a total of up to 106 pts available for being painted. Aeldarii and Drukharii can combine nicely in a global Ynnari series of vows, maximizing the potential point value that could be harvested if I can paint all of that. GSC and Spore mines are the (xeno-infected) cherry on the cupcake. Imperium is a tad behind with up to 76 points available. Yet AdMech is still representing a backlog of about 31 pts, which is not that far from Drukharii. And I paint now AdMech faster than before. So it remains a good second family of vows. Trick is that many minis require being built or kit bashed. All of the Astra Militarum must be kitbashed from GSC. On the first hand it is a lot of insigne cleaning and head swaps over 30 footsloggers and one vehicle on the waiting room. Corsairs and Proxy scouts also represent, on the other hand a similar amount of infantry models to be kit bashed. So, it is a lot of work to be done before the launching day. I will definitively start with the Pointy ears, but first step is to get the slottabases. I have just placed the order for the 28,5 mm bases I need for getting all these kit bashed Corsairs properly built. I couldn't have anyway used the original 25 mm bases I had with the Guardians as I lost these... Next update will therefore be focused on that point: kit bashes See you once work will be worth being reported.

Hi Folks, As some may have read in my previous entries (in this Blog or another) I've moved from my previous location to a new one a couple of months ago. It has been a big opportunity to sort out all bitz, spare parts, unassemnblied, unpainted and unboxed stuff I had in my numerous closets and crates. As my journey to clean my Pile of Shame started during Lock down, I sincerly though I had done most of the job already. Most maybe not in reality but a serious part surely. Here is what's left: Lots of tiny Marines and Squats from ooP Epic - I made a aborded attempt at painting some and I should resume it. It is a big part of the job. I may eventually use this as a test terrain for my kid as she looks like interrested into spending time splashing paint on stuff. With a IF coulour scheme selected and the power of Contrast paint, she might do the tiny soldier in series may be? Not GSC. I made a mistake - I ordered twice some GSC kits I palnned to use as a base for kitbashing my own AM Regiment. I've already done some but I still have 30 boyz to do. And as I DO NOT play GSC, what am I going to do with the Magus, the Hybrids and these 10 Metal Spore Mines I recovered from... I do not know where. AdMech - I still have 3 Serberys, 5 Pteraxii and 5 Sicarians waiting for love. But I need to repack paints first. SOme remains of my last Patrol box plus a reinforcment unit. Yet I feel like I might buy more stuff. I am no cured yet. These Skatros and Axiarch models are damned tempting. And I would not spit on a couple of Sydonian Ballistarii or another Dunerider neither. Kill Team - NL CSM. Enough said. This team from the Nightmare set is still on sprue. I bought Dark blue paint but I am not convinced by the colour. So any argument worths for not starting them. I guess these are a very good candidate to be swapped with another hobbyist. I'll have to work on building a local network in my new place. Aeldarii - This is probably the oldest Non-WFB models I have in my pile of shame. Many ooP guardians plus some more recent Scouts, Shroud runners and KT Corsairs. I planned a lagalization of my Saim-Hann army a while ago and these were there in order to expand my gaming capacities with more units, in order to reach a satisfying base for unit selection and a little bit of variety. Yet these are into the Pile for more than 2 years now. I have the plan in mind for a while now. If I made my maths properly, with the spares from the Scouts and deathshrouds + the Voidscarred sniper, I can kit bash a second squad of 5 scouts. Then, the bitz from the special characters included into the Corsair kit might allow a Spirit seer proxy, a Warlock and probably a Skyleaper Autarch. And the rest for Corsair units, which might lead to 3 units, One 10 men strong with carabines and wraithcannon and 2 small of 5 that will go HtH with shredders. Kit bash tanks: a LR and a Carnaudon - Lots of plasticard job to be done on these that are done since first Lockdown. No progress since. Anyway, I do not even remind in which box I set these two... So as you see, there is a lot of work to be done and enough to fill a full hobby year or more. Probably more as I started working on WFB too, resurecting some Dwarves and alterning between Universes. Any excuse to keep some 40k stuff available in fact. Who said procrastination? But, let's be frank, I will probably keep on working on pointy ears, now that I am into this dynamic for a good month... And these tests I did for Scourge wings cannot stay unfinished for too long, can they? See you.

From the album: St. Katherine's Aegis: Genestealer Cult
This was my first challenge for 12 Months of Hobby, February 2021. These four purestrains will be the primogenitors of a genestealer cult after their clever escape from the Hunter Class vessel Ashallon's Rage. You can learn more about the Cult of the Living Thresher here: Faction: Cult of the Living Thresher (GSC) This escape was the first game in The Chronicles of Saint Katherine's Aegis, and these were the first models painted for the campaign. -

Hello my fellow worshippers of the true emperor. I just got back into 40k. I have been scouring the interwebs for GSC shenanigans, tactical advice, and other useful info so that I don't waste my scratch on models that collect dust. So far I believe that I will be taking 6 five-man squads of acolytes, and a nexos as my core. I have been educated on the glory of St. Abominant and his nigh-unkillable unit of aberrants. I am also aware of the bikes with the double mortal wound bombing runs. What other advice or sneaky tricks are you guys planning to foil the oppressors with, given our new 10th edition Cult index? What strong synergies do you think are the Patriarch's tits?

Good evening frater who delve this far down the forum. I very rarely finish a project as I get bored quickly painting. And I love necromunda due to its crazy way you can build your board however you want basically. Anyway I’ve picked up 2 boxes of zm tiles and I bought 1 tile off my buddy today so I can have a 3x3 board. This is the start of me assembling it. A few friends from my gaming group and I are learning the ropes and starting a campaign soon and I thought I’d get cracking with the terrain today. So I sprayed the tiles according to forge worlds Mark Bedford and wow I’m pleased with the results. You prime black then grey then silver then white all after the other while each coat is still wet. I was very dubious at first but they look excellent and it’s going to be a shame when I dirty them up with shades and washes. Anyway here’s some picks of the tiles. I expect this will be a as and when plog because I’m not always in the mood to paint and detest it. I plan on running either a Cawdor gang or Genestealer Cult when I eventually play. all 8 tiles I have with better lighting

8th Edition Batrep! - Genestealer Cult Vs Salamanders
PhotoPhil posted a topic in + LIBER VICTORUM +
Monday? More like FUNday when you have a brand-new Glacial Geek Battle Report! https://youtu.be/S5XVpdno1hw This week my Genestealer Cult take on the Salamanders! The call came in with an urgent message. The local Planetary Defense Force had been overrun and anarchy had taken over. Imperial Society was on the verge of collapse. The rebellion seemed to be led by a Genestealer Cult. Normally this call would be sent on to the Deathwatch, experts in purging the Alien, but this case was special. The planet in question was in the same system as Nocturn, the homeworld for the Salamanders. They could not allow a planet so close to their home to fall to vile xenos worshipers. Vulkan He'Stan himself rallied a force to go and liberate the planet. Would the Salamanders be able to root out the Cult and bring order back to the planet, or would the Four-Armed God gain another planet ripe for a Hive Fleet? Watch and find out!-
