To do the same with a brush would have and has had me spending a few weeks blending slowly with very light layers of highlighting. I have done a scheme like this with nurgle chaos ogres for fantasy. I like the look of the DG marines. They look really cool. You should look into getting some rustall solution. It is the sniznapplesniznit when it comes to doing rust and decay.
