just some basecoating on the pants, and the bases(it looks white but its a light sandy colour, it will get more colour and pigment as i go)

i darkened the tan a tad, by adding some tau sept ochre, so the highlights should show more

update, did more basecoating on the scouts, green is almost done

as for the first scout, i just need to finish up green on boots and black on his back, and hes done minus the rifle of course(the pic is a bit harsh so highlights and shadows are blah in it!)

boots are more graveyard, pouches are darker brown now, basically just kept adding washes...the goggles are black now as you can see, helped bring the face out, and i stayed with the tan coloured tubing around the neck

motivation is what i do my friend, in more ways than one.....:)

well..because i am cursed unto unending doom....i discovered these bases i had made while fooling around building scenery awhile ago....turns out they make amazing desert bases....

(colour is off, its much more sandy in person)

problem is, it involves plaster, and that is not good for mailing it will crumble...but IT LOOKS SO GOOD...i thinkill just have to keep it to display pieces...and just leave the bases they have...if i do end up keeping them(still highly doubt it) i can always make the switch then

Well after a long delay this project is back up as everything else is finished!

Im working through the whole army while waiting for the last few parts to arrive, i will then rebase everything with the airbrush and repaint

they will all be receiving the new desert bases ive done(as seen on the scout sarge)

Im awaiting some biker legs to finish off the last few bikers, as well as another FW red scorpion kit to finish off a biker sarge and the sternguard(+drop pod)

Finally getting to the painting, in hindsight i likely should of primed black, as Im airbrushing the colour on, the primer doesnt have as strong an effect, and would of meant dark shadows where the colour didnt land and likely made the brown look a bit more solid even if it wasnt, but no biggie

anyways, i ran out of brown, so i only got a bit done, but managed to grab some today along with some washes i plan to try out to speed things up even more

So a couple more pieces together and converted, then i sprayed with a mix of umbral umber and bestial brown, sprayed over it once dry, with hairspray(as in the pic) to seal it, then i applied salt...i will mask the scouts, and paint the teal on for the next step

the second to last image shows whats next to be primed and base coated, and the last pic shows whats left(the master of the forge is missing from the pic though)

weathering, same as the hairspray, you will see in the next stage

Blah. Should have said it was to keep your paint properly seasoned when licking brushes. <_<

Your painting room looks like my old bedroom in the house I grew up in. Dang room would get hotter than the outside in the summer and the windows would get 3 inches of ice in the winter...
