Hey there Aerion!

First of all, great to see some fantastic new art from you - I've been loving your stuff right from the start! B)

Well, I followed the link in your sig and was blown away by your other masterpieces in your gallery!

Now I've got a personal question: Me and my girlfriend have moved together about a year ago and I'm still missing an cool 40k Space Marine poster above my painting/working-table due to lack of artwork good enough for it...Seriously, I'd love to get one of your paintings put on canvas to make it pop even more! Would that be alright with you or are there any copyright issues with my idea?

Greetings from Germany and keep them Primarchs coming :)

I also looked at all of your other stuff in your gallery and it all rocks. I particularly like the old/ young Eisenhorn piece. I like Vulkan a lot. The hammer looks like he is holding it in the crook of his arm the the other hand is just keeping it in place rather than griping it so I think it looks fine. All in all an excellent picture, great job.

Salutations, brothers...

First off, I'd like to bump the excitement over the B&C's first publishing effort (that I know of): The Dornian Heresy has finally arrived and it sports a rather blasphemous cover by yours truly, which I hope you'll like. My artwork is certainly the least of all the awesomeness you'll find inside. As a matter of fact, I think my cover sort of lets down the project, but that's just me, I hope... Have a read and let me Mods know you want more!

Second, I want to thank you for your immense support on this project and the fact that you, by choosing my artwork as something worth of the 41st Millenium, have given me many chances to work with great

As for the topic at hand, I return to the Dark Millenium with the latest Primarch in the Libris Primaris series: Alpharius Omegon, of the Alpha Legion.

This is one Primarch I was really looking forward to depicting. Mostly because I knew there was going to be a lot of symbolism to him, given the secretive and deceitful nature of the Legion.

As I had foreseen, I did incorporate many elements that make this one one of my favourites.

The most obvious is, of course, the presence of the twin Omegon in the background. Or is he Alpharius? No one will know for sure, right...? That's key to the Alpha Legion, their unknown plans and schemes, which I tried to accentuate by making this Traitor Primarch face left as a loyalist, but looking right, as my Traitors. Omegon is promptly doing the inverse, so you have a certain ambiuguous feeling about the nature of the character.

They don't have an established homeworld, so I incorporated the many faces effect on the background, emphasising the Hydra quality of the Legion as well as Alpharius' likeness to that of a regular Marine from his ranks. Something also present in the relatively simple design of his armour, less pompous than his brothers'. Of course, the armour still looks as ornate as a Captain's would in the Pre-Heresy times.

The Hydra is a repetitive motif all around, though it doesn't detract from the Pre-Heresy symbol of the Legion predominantly featured as well.

So, overall, I'm very satisfied and happy with this one and I hope I've once again done justice to the character. You'll be the judges, as usual!

Thank you for your time and read you soon!

Aerion.-

Brilliant as usual Aerion! AO is one (two?) of my favorite Primarchs, and you have done him/them justice for sure. I love the simplicity of the armor, all the while maintaining the details befitting a primarch. I also love that he looks the most loyal and uncorrupted of the chaos primarchs done so far. Bravo!

... fingers crossed for Corax....

Absolutely amazing Aerion; best work, hands down, you will not be able to top this in my books (unless Angron is the embodiment of death, blood, carnage, slaughter)!!!!!!!!!!! I especially love the Omegon half of Alpharius Omegon, I'm pleased to note you remembered to give him darker armour then the norm as he is leader of the Effrit Stealth sqaud.
Yet another fantastic rendition of one of the Primarchs. I think you really nailed Alph/Omegon and I love the way you angled the heads. Also, did you put a different style of shoulderpad on each cause the background brother seems to have a different design entirely than the foreground brother.

These are all amazing. I'll say that the Emperor and Rogal Dorn are my favorites.

I admire your work. The style is breathtaking, not too complicated, but also strangely suitable for the "Grimdarkness" of the 41st Millennium.

I'm sure that you are asked this all the time, but do you charge for commissions? I'd like to see my Doom Guard rendered in this style. Of course, if you can't take on any work I understand, and if I ask if you do them for free, it's not that I'm presumptuous or anything, I just don't have any money. Hope springs eternal.

Anyway, keep up the good work. I love it.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, this fleeting thought came to mind while I was admiring your work: if they make an animated version of 40K, they should use your work. Seriously.

if they make an animated version of 40K,

...I will personally and permanently take down the person who started the idea and the person who actually put it into practice. ;)
