I certainly share the sentiments regarding the power axe, plasma pistol veteran model. It is my favourite model to date. And you sir have done it wondrous justice. If I had half the painting skill I'd be more than happy. Awesome work

Please, do write some battlereports, or at least take some pics. ^_^

Nice stuff, as always. I like your light...nice and a chilly white, not yellow or orange. Mind if I ask what bulb did you use?

Hi Snorri,

Thanks for your reply, and sorry for the delay in my answer! I've been deep in the magic land of Paintmania for the past days. The light is a dougnut shaped fluorescent bulb. It gives superb light for painting and also doubles quite nicely for pictures....that, and a white wooden table creates my light.

Cheers mate, gonna try this when I finished my VV - and I see you´ve been very busy, again this leads to one thought: brilliant work, dude! ;)

Hey all!

@ pattison, wiplash, Captain Conrad, Brother Kovash, Master Toddius, Mika-El, Snorri: Thanks a lot for your very kind comments! I'm very happy that you also like my newest work - thank you! :-)

@ teku: thanks mate - regarding your comment about how to play them, I have two thoughts: either use the new raven guard captain from the newest Imperial Armour book (he allows assault squads to be troop choices) and then just use the generic 5th ed SM codes OR use the Blood Angels rules and just play them as green marines. I have, no matter what I decide, been properly convinced that assault marines as troops are the way to go instead of tacticals - chainswords FTW! ;-)

Im suprised this hasnt been said yet but, Vadskær could we please get a full army shot? By the way these are some amazing DA

Hi Loken & Brother Khairon - thanks for your comments, and sorry for the late reply! A full army shot is somewhat difficult since a lot of my older stuff i tucked away in battle-boxes for gaming but i'll see what I can do :)

Hello all!

New mini's are ready for your viewing pleasure! The first one, Chaplain Lemartes of the Blood Angels Death Company have been shown in an isolated thread in the Hall of Honor, but he still also needs to be included here in my thread.

The model is a wonderful sculpt and the details are very crisp and was a pleasure to paint. I mostly stuck to the official colour scheme except for a couple of small changes. I used a number of techniques described in the 'Eavy Metal Guide to the Legion of the Damned Sergeant painted by Anja Wettergren - the armour, the skull helmet and shoulder pad.

Next up is my first Sanguiniary Guard - again a pretty awesome sculpt! The new plastic models are extremely detailed compared to some of the older molds. I first painted this chap in my Dark Angels green scheme but quite quickly decided against it and re-did him in the classic gold. The only difference with the official colour scheme is that the top part of the wings on my model is gold instead of white on the official models.

For shading the gold, I used the recipe mentioned in the new 'Eavy Metal guide to painting the Daemon Prince, which turned out really nice. The sword was a good challenge and I used the guide by Joe Tomazewski.

Enjoy :)

And finally, the last model for today - a project I've been working on and off for a long time - my own version of the famous company master of the Dark Angels 1st Company, the Deathwing: Belial.

I used the model from the Red Scorpions terminator captain from ForgeWorld, which is actually somewhat smaller in size than the regular GW plastic terminators. I trimmed off the Red Scorpion symbols and exchanged the right arm (which holds a powersword) with this vintage lightning claw from the Chaos Terminator Lord box-set. The model included both a helmed head (the one I used) and a cool, bare one which I'll save for another character. The reason I switched the right arms was that the FW sculpt was pretty miserable with hardly any good details.

That's all for now folks - C&C always welcome! :)

Your Belial is a very nice use of Culln. Good use of personal heraldry in the painting details you've incorporated. Overall he looks very impressive. Base is cool too.

IMHO the model looks better painted as Belial than it does as Culln :).

Thank you all so much for your kind comments! I'm really happy that you like my latest work.

I've started on a new project today. I came across a box the Missus gave me last year - The Throne of Judgement! It's a big, heavy metal sculpt from 2003 and I always thought it looked really cool and different from a lot of the other GW/Inquisition models.

Any particular ideas/guides as to how I could paint some of the parts? The throne is in marble - any cool recipes out there?

Cheers!

Ladies and Gents,

The Throne of Judgement is finally finished! It is a massive, heavy kit of 18 metal parts that more or less fit together. It was a real pleasure to paint, since there are so many different things on the model - from the blended purple cloak of the Inquisitor Lord, to the black marble, the many scrolls and parchments and the servitors.

I mounted it on a normal GW dreadnought base since it is quite static in it's pose, so I couldn't use a more uneven resin base, simply because the model was so heavy it needed sure footing to keep standing.

Let's have it all - C&C welcome ^_^

Man, that's terrific! Great paintjob! The marble is great and the parchments are perfect! Everything is done flawlessly!

PS Great Lemartes and Sanguinary Guard! Especially Lemartes! Just great! As a Blood Angles player I thank you! :D Great work!
