nice work can't wait to see the rest finished :)

hey do you think that the pannels with the angel and the sword could be put on Land Raders as extra armor or are they to big?

Thanks Peter. I think they're a little too big unfortunately.

Great painting on all things. You've given me some great ideas on my FoR (still on the sprues).

As for the FoR (wife-where are you going to keep that? you are taking it upstairs right? me-nope it's going to be the center piece on the dining room table, every time you pass by you will have to sing a few Gregorian chants).

Hail ODM

This is fantastic! Well done and thank you.

When it is done, you ought to add pictures of the creation process and the finished result in the terrain thread in the Hall of Honour.

I look forward to seeing more of this.

Regards,

Master Ciaphas

ODM this is looking well up to your normal high standards if not higher. The overal colour scheme is much lighter than many I have seen that tend towards the black/dark grey/basalt/iron area. Yours has the tone more like old weathered steel or granite and it's a very good 'look'. I also like the slightly splodgy application of the dry brushing. All in all a very nice fortress.

Cheers

I suddenly got the bug to finish this walkway this year. So...done. Next it's the bunker with the defense laser.

Hail,

Looks very, very nice ODM.

I am really looking forward to seeing the finished result, and to hearing your experience about what went well, and what you wish you'd done differently, so the rest of us neophytes can listen and learn! :-D

Happy New Year.

Regards,

Master Ciaphas

I wish I could use this for Imperial fists or crimson Guardians :P but those giant DA panels may cause a problem..

It kind of defeats the point but you could always file them off/ cut them out and greenstuff something in the place? A bit of a mess on but im sure it could be done.

Great looking minis ODM, im especially fond of the speeder! :)

  • 2 weeks later...

I've got a lot of energy for marines at the moment.

First I decided to repaint my Veterans robes black instead of brown. I wasn't happy with the brown. I think I'll finish this squad soon.

Then I worked on the next bunker in my Fortress.

Then I decided to convert up a Twin linked HB so that I can turn my whirlwind into a Razorback as necessary.

Thanks AL.

I decided the Veteran Squad needed an update to actually see some playing time. So in addition to their new ride, the newly converted razorback, I gave the one of the existing vets a powersword and another a powerfist. I also decided to add another vet, and as they are all successors, I chose the Angels of Vengeance. The only successor chapter not represented now is the Consecrators. I'm sure they'll make an appearance in the future.

I've decided to add a Consecrator to the veretan squad. They are known to use really old relic armor, so the helmet, shoulderpads and backpack are all old school.
