ODM returns

ODM

ODM. I'm new to the DA (like you'll see from my posts so far), but you're becoming a huuuuuge inspiration for me! I'm really, really falling for the Dark Angels (pun intended), and you make me want to make the very best out of my DA force. Thank you!

Hey thanks for the kind words Front-Line. I appreciate hearing that you like my stuff, and if I can inspire you in building your force, that's great.

Fantastic looking force, ODM!

I am quite jealous of your Jetbike conversion, so if you do happen to find out who used to make those kits please let us know! It is almost exactly how I want mine to look...

Thanks Jord. I will do, he was a brother on this forum. Might be worth searching the old threads for jetbike subjects.

Well, I've traded an empire army in bitz for more marine stuff, so my DA will be getting some more reinforcements over the next few months. Quite a bit of it will require playing the standard marine codex (the thunderfire, seige dread, legion of the damned, stern guard, characters, etc) but I'll be staying with the DA or a successor for the look and feel. It's not really a case of me wanting a better ruleset, I have no problem being competitive on my local scene with our codex, just that I have all these toys I need a different book to use!

I'm at the point where I'm going to take a little while to mull over whether to stay DA or go with a successor. I have enough stuff to build a whole army from scratch, so I think it's a decent opportunity to try something a little different. In my Veteran squad I got a chance to paint up all the different variations out there, so I'll think on which one I enjoyed painting the most I guess.

As I am going to hard boys I need to make some upgrades, so I'll have some projects.

I've put together a dread CC arm with flamer as a trade out for one of my dreads, as I got some of the newer parts and a couple of my dreads only have storm bolters.

In order to prepare for Hard Boys, I had to give two of my Dread's heavy flamers. My list will use three. The lead dread got a whole new arm, while the second one just got a flamer.

Next up, a Land Raider Crusader.

The dreads look great. Heavy flamers always look visually better than storm bolter option. So you're running a plasma/heavy flamer, multi-melta/heavy flamer and...?

wow, this is an absolutely amazing thread! I cant believe how quickly you paint! In one of your posts you show an unpainted Consecrator, and 3 hours later post him finished! Amazing!

Thanks Caedrius.

Here's my next project. I built the structure so I can paint the iside before sealing it up. I'll try to paint the interior tonight, then put it all together.

Here's some updates on the Crusader. I've added all the icons, etc.. Only the metal sponsons haven't been added.

Here's what the inside looks like:

Thanks guys.

Here's an update on the Crusader. The silver metal is done, and the bone, white and gold areas have had a wash.

Wow, thanks for the kind words. Glad to be of inspiration.

Made some more progress on the crusader (sorry about the pic - better ones later). The bone, gold and white areas are all complete. Reds next I think.

You can also see that I started to assemble the crappy metal weapons. I'm having nightmares about the sponsons.

I've finally finished the details on the body of the crusader. Next step, I'll highlight the black areas and the wear and tear. After that, it's the weapons. I've primed the melta and the assault cannons and sort of started building the stupid sponsons.

Here's the next step on the Crusader. The highlighting of the blacks are done. I'll do the wear and tear once all the weapons are added.

Thanks Isiah.

Here's another small update. I finished the twin linked Ass Cannons, and progressed on building the sponsons. Next I'll paint the melta and finish the sponson construction (still have to add the sill ammo belts).
