Bat33.1
Here are some shots of my magnatized DC Razorback/Rhino inspired by your work here http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y87/paulj1965/GW%2040K/DCRhino002crop.jpg Flamerback. http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y87/paulj1965/GW%2040K/DCRhino004crop.jpg Rhino. http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y87/paulj1965/GW%2040K/DCRhino001crop.jpg Flamerback side view minus storm bolter. I added some sprue under the hatch opening and drilled it to accept three 3 x 2mm magnets and matched the tops to suit. The Storm bolter is also magnatized with 2 x 1mm magnets and I have magnets in the hull front to fit a dozer balde which is not yet painted so not shown. Thanks for the inspiration <_<
SamaNagol
Wow, that's incredibly cool! Really love the paint job too! Did you magnetise the Heavy Flamers so you can swap them out too?
Brother-Captain Lucius
Love the paintjob on the razor. Good highlights and just the right amount of battle damage! :P :(
Bat33.1
:) for the kind comments on the finish of the Rhinoback it's a tricky colour - black - to know when you've done enough weathering/highlighting/battle damage I stopped just at the point where I was still looking to add a touch more using the less is more theory. No I didn't magnatize the flamers, doh! I didn't think about that one until now, although it's easy enough to remove the turret and swap it out as I've got plenty of Razorback spares. It's just not worth buying a stock Rhino kit may as well pay a little more to get the extra sprue as spares always come in handy. Now all I need to do is finish building and painting the rest of the army, could be some time...
SamaNagol
Exactly, I haven't bought a Rhino in years now. The reason I magnetized my Hvy Flamers is because I wanted to be able to remove them and use them on turrets for future Razorbacks should I start any other armies. SamaNagol
I've neglected the hobby for 2 months. I must seek redemption. The spray can is coming out next week. This I swear!

SamaNagol
Just built a DC dread using rabblerouser's resin Talons http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_cc2w-f0XTFg/TKw_ndbvZLI/AAAAAAAAABE/WQ5K5eYYNKc/s320/IMG_0196%5B1%5D.JPG http://flesh-tearers.blogspot.com/2010/10/blog-post.html

WarpWalker
Love the charging look on that 2nd dread! Very dramatic!
Midnightmare
Very dynamic pose there, looks like the easyest way to a crazy charging dread; consider it stolen for my DC dread :)
SamaNagol
Yeh I'd done it for my old SW forgeworld dread, but if there is ANY dreadnought that should be running into battle it is one with Furious Charge, Rage and FLEET!
Israfel
The 2nd dreadnought's pose is really wonderful!! Can we have tutorial on that? ++ Edit ++ Nevermind, I just saw the linky to your blog :)
Grimm Blade
I love the charging Dread! Wicked pose! TOTALLY Flesh Tearer appropriate  I can't help but feel that your first dread looks understated because of second's pose though, Dread 1 almost looks as if it is depressed when compared to Dread 2. Your whole force is so dynamic, and it just feels as though Dread one does not fit........ GB
SamaNagol
lol! If only plastic dreads were in any way easy to reposition without extensive sculpting! Thanks for all the kind words about the army. Just need to actually do some painting now
Tabgoi
To the original poster, great looking army. I love the poses and the conversions you have done. Some one asked about conversions with books and such, there are a couple places you can go without cutting them off terminators. Really cool idea, but personally I am better at sculpting and pinning then getting small pieces off without damaging them. Games Workshop used to have a decent archive section, but they took it down for some reason. Terrible idea on their part IMO. Mordheim actually had some good books to use as well. But if you are willing to do a little web surfing, there is always Iron Wind Metals and Reaper. Iron Wind Metals bought the rights to the entire Ral Partha catalog when they went under. It is not organized particularly well, but if you keep going thru links you will get to areas that are not directly linked by their shortcuts and find some good stuff. There are a lot of eras of models they cover so you can get some cool conversions going. Reaper is mostly focused on fantasy, but when you want to add reliquies, trophies, ornamental daggers, and other cool stuff they have some great sculpters. Unfortunately, once again, finding their weapons and accessory packs on their website is not easy. Fortunately they will mail you a catalog and you can skim thru fast. There are some detailed weapons that are large enough to be good replacements for power weapons, especially for librarians. You cannot get a lot of big conversions out of them because they are not exactly the right size, but for adding details it is pretty handy. The other reason to keep the additions small is GW does not mind if you do little detail work and conversions from other lines, but once the models stop resembling their products they tend to not want you to use them at their events and stores any longer. I have never had a problem though. Sorry I cannot post any pics to give examples, but my models are not currently at the same location as I am due to lack of space. Soon enough though there will be room again, and man has this given me some ideas.
SamaNagol
I have been on the look out for good detailed axe blades to use as power weapons so thanks very much for your suggestions!
Whitefireinferno
Heh love the dred But I do have to say it is FAR easier to reposition a Plastic Dred than one of those old Metal ones Thus why my blog has not been updated in a while. :/
SamaNagol
Working on some Honour Guard today and a rather different styled Dante Counts As who can also just be a Sang Guard 'sergeant' if I choose.
Grimm Blade
I can't wait to see your HG. does "working on" mean that you are getting some paint on those amazing models of yours, or are you modeling them to accompany the counts as Dante that you also mentioned? SamaNagol
Surrounded by tools, sprues and glue at the moment. I've got Dante 80% done, a single HG with THammer and Meltagun completed and a Sanguinary Priest specifically for the Sanguinary Guard near finished. Will fling up pics in an hour or so

Tabgoi
Off the top of my head for axes, from reaper weapons pack 2 has a pretty decent one, or maybe the ones on the models Angus Stormhand, Linroc Brighttrune, Gharun Demon Warrior, Crypt Bat 2, and the Crypt Bat Lord. Their minis are quite a bit cheaper then GW ones. Also there is a pretty cool skull pack you can get with human, elf, and orc skulls.
