Here are some shots of my magnatized DC Razorback/Rhino inspired by your work here

Flamerback side view minus storm bolter.

I added some sprue under the hatch opening and drilled it to accept three 3 x 2mm magnets and matched the tops to suit. The Storm bolter is also magnatized with 2 x 1mm magnets and I have magnets in the hull front to fit a dozer balde which is not yet painted so not shown.

Thanks for the inspiration <_<

:) for the kind comments on the finish of the Rhinoback it's a tricky colour - black - to know when you've done enough weathering/highlighting/battle damage I stopped just at the point where I was still looking to add a touch more using the less is more theory.

No I didn't magnatize the flamers, doh! I didn't think about that one until now, although it's easy enough to remove the turret and swap it out as I've got plenty of Razorback spares. It's just not worth buying a stock Rhino kit may as well pay a little more to get the extra sprue as spares always come in handy.

Now all I need to do is finish building and painting the rest of the army, could be some time...

Exactly, I haven't bought a Rhino in years now.

The reason I magnetized my Hvy Flamers is because I wanted to be able to remove them and use them on turrets for future Razorbacks should I start any other armies.

I love the charging Dread! Wicked pose! TOTALLY Flesh Tearer appropriate

I can't help but feel that your first dread looks understated because of second's pose though, Dread 1 almost looks as if it is depressed when compared to Dread 2. Your whole force is so dynamic, and it just feels as though Dread one does not fit........

To the original poster, great looking army. I love the poses and the conversions you have done.

Some one asked about conversions with books and such, there are a couple places you can go without cutting them off terminators. Really cool idea, but personally I am better at sculpting and pinning then getting small pieces off without damaging them. Games Workshop used to have a decent archive section, but they took it down for some reason. Terrible idea on their part IMO. Mordheim actually had some good books to use as well. But if you are willing to do a little web surfing, there is always Iron Wind Metals and Reaper. Iron Wind Metals bought the rights to the entire Ral Partha catalog when they went under. It is not organized particularly well, but if you keep going thru links you will get to areas that are not directly linked by their shortcuts and find some good stuff. There are a lot of eras of models they cover so you can get some cool conversions going. Reaper is mostly focused on fantasy, but when you want to add reliquies, trophies, ornamental daggers, and other cool stuff they have some great sculpters. Unfortunately, once again, finding their weapons and accessory packs on their website is not easy. Fortunately they will mail you a catalog and you can skim thru fast. There are some detailed weapons that are large enough to be good replacements for power weapons, especially for librarians.

You cannot get a lot of big conversions out of them because they are not exactly the right size, but for adding details it is pretty handy. The other reason to keep the additions small is GW does not mind if you do little detail work and conversions from other lines, but once the models stop resembling their products they tend to not want you to use them at their events and stores any longer. I have never had a problem though. Sorry I cannot post any pics to give examples, but my models are not currently at the same location as I am due to lack of space. Soon enough though there will be room again, and man has this given me some ideas.

Surrounded by tools, sprues and glue at the moment.

I've got Dante 80% done, a single HG with THammer and Meltagun completed and a Sanguinary Priest specifically for the Sanguinary Guard near finished.

Will fling up pics in an hour or so

Blog post here: http://flesh-tearers.blogspot.com/2010/10/...forgeworld.html

Off the top of my head for axes, from reaper weapons pack 2 has a pretty decent one, or maybe the ones on the models Angus Stormhand, Linroc Brighttrune, Gharun Demon Warrior, Crypt Bat 2, and the Crypt Bat Lord. Their minis are quite a bit cheaper then GW ones. Also there is a pretty cool skull pack you can get with human, elf, and orc skulls.
