Insteresting name, although they ain't gonna be Nurgle worpshipers, just tougher armour & bionics ;)

Makes sense... Perhaps you should call them "The Walking Bastions" or something to that effect. "Tempered Fury" maybe.

My plan for count as plague marines is to do some Gothic Marines and give them some chaos warriors shields. The added size and shield should be enough to grant the +1 to toughness. Another option would to have a ton of bionics on each guy but I always thought that would work better as count as Thousand Sons.

@ KhornateKiller - cheers mate, interesting idea, I was looking at doin just red arm, but I felt having both the gauntlets red matched their name better!

 

@ The Normish - Interesting names, but I have decided what I'm gonna call them *point down*

 

@ sword brethren - would that be your cool looking bionic count-as Thousand Sons?

 

@ Jofus - I'm thinking of doin my Chosen Gothic Marines style actually, the sheild idea is cool, as for Thousand Sons, I'd prolly have them as some allies or soemthing

 

Ok I've chosen a name for my count as plague marines & I'm gonna call them "The Hellforged" (this was orignally a name for a different squad, but I never felt like it fitted them, so I changed their name to Squad "Ironfist") Also I'm looking to make 10 of these guys, howeverI don't wanna spend £40 on 2 packs of Iron Armour marines, so I'm gonna just buy 5 & then convert the other 4 using the some of these helemts made by maxmini! As for the champion I will use Chronus as the base :P

 

Sucks I can't really start these guys till FW release the parts, will give me time to do other stuff at least! Including a Daemon Prince, as I pre-ordered mine last nite :) Along with some Horrors for my Daemon army!

I'm looking forward to the plauge marines getting underway. Sounds like it will be pretty interesting. For the bezerkers, I like the scheme but my only comment would be to consider painting one whole arm red. It looks a like the red is to broken up at the momment. Almost like the test marine has red mittens. Just my two cents. Total hats off to you since this blog has some truely great models.

 

Looking forward to seeing more.

@ The Damned - Thank u very much! I have been thinking more about the Berzerkers colour scheme & I might actually paint the gauntlets to look like they have been dipped in blood using Tamyia Clear Red!

 

Well I'm all packed for the move & this will be my last post for a bit, till I get internet at the new place!

 

Anyways after much debating, I have decided to change my HQ a bit; originally I was going to have 2 versions of Vlâdvar - 1 in Terminator Armour (pre 13th Black Crusade) & 1 as a Daemon Prince (post 13th Black Crusade). However the idea of having 2 versions of him didn't really sit well with me, plus the original version of him as a Daemon Prince didn't have wings! So with the release of the awesome looking plastic Daemon Prince, I've decided to keep Vlad just in Terminator Armour & the Daemon Prince called "Vor'Ragh'Kar" (who I'm currently writing fluff & doing a design sketch for) is gonna the be "bound" in servitude to Vlad! Stay tuned for when i return to reveal more about my "top secret" idea!

no its something i did a while ago which im tempted to make another squad of.

 

and hellforged is a great name.

i have been away a long time, and coming back just reminded me how much i love you work -_- excellent work. great to see the brilliant conversions finally painted. i can't wait to see more :)

Great work so far allready. After being away for a very long time from this forum and painting. This topic really makes me think starting a CSM army when i finished my current bunch of SM that are ready to be painted :P .

Well I'm all moved into my new house & just set up the internet, Things are gettin sorted out & I'm gettin back intot he swing of things doin my minitaures :)

 

I recently got the new Daemon Prince Model in the post & I'm in the process of making him, although its not gonna be the Iron Warrior DP, I need some more bits for him 1st! The one I'm making is called Makal'Dah'Gar for my Night Lords Allies & hopefully if I get him painted in time, I shall be entering him in the DP painting comp at my local GW :woot:

 

One question I've got is, whats the best colour to paint Night Lords Armour?

Nightlords rock !!! I have done some NL allies for my WorldEaters and its what im doing my new DP as too :woot:

The way I painted my Night Lords was the same as Dan The Demons as his look awesome :yes:

Well it’s been a while! Sorry for my long absence guys, I took a 4 month break from the hobby! Been working alot & not had much free time! Also I lost some motivation after me & my girlfriend broke up... Anyways i'm feeling happier now & I figured it would be a good time to get back on with my IWs :teehee:

 

I got a Vindicator for Christmas an with out further-a-do, heres some mock up pix....

As you can see, most of the parts are only blue-tacted on & need cleaning up. Also I'm using the mounted Chronus mini for my tank commander; I shall have to remove the Ultramarine Icons though. Also not sure about the head yet, hes gotta CSM termi lord bare head atm.

Heh, welcome back dude, and you had better believe I'm playing for keeps on sunday (if we get a game that is :)).

 

Nice vindicator, though I do have to ask, wouldn't you much rather have your vindicator possessed? so is he gonna be a possessed tank commander?

Cheers guys :devil: Sorry for the lack of updates though, my Iron Warriors are currently on an extended leave on a Slaaneshi pleasure planet while their minions do their dirty work ;)

 

Haha in other words, I've started a Dark Mechanicus allies army see my other blog - Minions of Medrengard As I wanted to try something new ^_^ but rest-assured I shall be getting back on with my main army once the allies are all done ;)

Well with the new CSM Codex around the corner (hopefully), I decided ity was time to update my IW Blog :) Also I entered ToS back in April, so I painted 1,500 of these guys to a basic gaming standard (as I didn't have much time due to switching from using my Dark Mech allies as they were taking way way too long).
