someone just pointed out something in the pic i didnt notice before. distracted but the obvious likely but anyway... plastic furiso anyone?

 

Yeah, a few other folks have mentioned it in this thread as well. From the look of it, the front armor plates are winged, sarcophagus has BA heraldry, and I'm pretty sure those might be some Blood Talons. Now, since that part of the image is blurred it is hard to say for certain if what we see there is accurate, or if it is just what we want to see. :cuss Here's hoping there's a new Dread kit in the pipe, with Furioso and Librarian bits. Certainly if you believe the rumors that the GK will be getting Libby Dreads as well, this would make sense.

With regard to the SR:

 

having seen multiple pictures of the stormraven (and the other feb releases for that matter); that is indeed the official GW model.

It looks awesome when you see it from other angles, and it comes with EVERY option in the BA codex :tu:

With regard to how well a dread kit will serve as furioso, libby and GK dread:

With regard to the contents of the mentioned BA battleforce (in the text accompanying SR pic) being a furioso dread, tacs and ass squad:

 

nope, you're a bit off

 

My guess would be that means a DC set in there somewhere.

 

So, a few tidbits from this are that we should expect that Febs WD will contain rules to use the SR with codex armies and that the release for both the SR, dread and a battleforce will be then.

Great that it seems to look better from other angles. Maybe it's not that bad anyway.

 

But what other chapter will be able to get the stormraven then? The BA codex describes the SR as a BA and GK exclusive.

 

I do think that GK will get it at a reduced cost. It's a bit too expensive in our codex and GW want to sell it. Reduce the cost for GK's by 20pts and hope to sell some more of it. Perhaps they won't get bloodstrike missiles?

I still think some sort of tail would probably be nice though.

 

Something like this perhaps? I'm not sure what the back looks like so I'm not sure how such an assembly should attach to the rest of the model, but it's food for thought anyway.

A question I wanna ask (perhaps I'm a bit stupid) is: Will it stand on the ground or have a stand like the Valkyrie? The pics shows it standing on the landing gear, maybe it's for the photos, but why give it landing gears if it's supposed to fly all the time? If we get a landed flyer it will be much easier to give cover saves, and maybe that why it's so tall? It's problably wishful thinking, but if it's on the ground, it will have higher survivability.

the thing that has me a bit...hmmm...is that one bit of the rumour that said that other marine armies may be able to use them.

 

Can you imagine the builds that people will have with storm raven lists?

 

Space Wolf Terminator army just got a hell of a lot more viable.

 

Imagine what it will be like in the later codexs for DA and BT ...on a side note...is anyone else planning on playing ride of the Valkyries when they play storm ravens? :)

I suppose it's possible. If they start doing a chapter traits system, they might have that as a possible trait:

 

Pilots(or something)(Maybe Hawk Lordish)

May select Stormravens as a Dedicated transport option for x(or HS)
