Eberious
Thanks very much all,  @Kisada, used to be the same way, but since prices went up and general bills are higher I find myself spending time on each model with much love.  Well I finshed the first of many....many  tanks.  http://i1178.photobucket.com/albums/x370/EberiousTemplar/DSC07833.jpg http://i1178.photobucket.com/albums/x370/EberiousTemplar/DSC07825.jpg http://i1178.photobucket.com/albums/x370/EberiousTemplar/DSC07836.jpg  http://i1178.photobucket.com/albums/x370/E...ar/DSC07835.jpg http://i1178.photobucket.com/albums/x370/E...ar/DSC07832.jpg http://i1178.photobucket.com/albums/x370/E...ar/DSC07826.jpg   C&C welcome.  Forgot one main pic of the front, fixing that now....and fixed. Eberious
Thanks both. Â Fantastic tank Eberious. Looks like its hunger for war has been satisfied over the centuries of service. :D Â It's hunger for battle is never satisfied. Â @Kisada, yeah I know what you mean. Was sizing it up and it didnt look right. Once cut in half it sits ok, but only after it was paintd did it look good. Eberious
Sure, the blade itself is 4 of these cut and shaped together. I found the tip of the blade once all stuck together is a bit stumpy, so had to file carefully into a more sharper tip. http://www.letthedicedecide.co.uk/product/...rmine_A_SMBA007 Â And a Black Templar sword section where the blade and handle connect to(the right word escapes me right now) and a random handle from somewhere. Eberious
Sure, Â The base is the standard SM tank hatch. The mount base and mounting thingy is that which we use to mount the hunterkiller missile or stormbolter. Stuck the MM together around that. Then the back to it is a jump-pack section cut and fitted into place to make it automated/controlled from within the LR. See bottom of this thread for all round pics of it. Riffer77
Eberious that is an awesome LRC. Did you drybrush it with some metal paint like Boltgun metal or Mithrill silver? How did you get the shades, a black wash? The bikes(in the link) they rock. Now when I see pictures like this, I wish I could paint better. Eberious
Thanks Riffer77, the black is done over a few different layers. I started off with choas black primer, then kinda dry/wet brush a lightish grey, mainly focusing on the edges. Then the same dry/wet brush technique with a lighter grey, closer again to the edges. After that I used a very dark grey wash(almost black, but enough grey to take the jet black edge off). Started off with a some what watery wash, thickening it up with each layer as it got closer to the areas I wanted darker. Once all the detail work was done I then dry brushed bleached bone to pick up the edges(mostly due to my sasuage fingers rubbing the originoal highlighting away). Â Glad you like the bikes, was a bit disapointingto start the project with that an not finish them all. Someone did warn me it'll do my head in. And theywere right. I do love the bikes in general myself, so will be swinging back around to get them all done soon. Â To be honest with this revival project I'm a little hesitant to do anymore, what with the rumour of the new BT codex=shiny new models/bits. But then having more than I need hasn't stopped me buying more in the past. Roma
Great models Ebrious! They look a lot like firepower's, I remember him mentioning someone helping him to paint them or something along those lines, did you do his frirst few models? Seeing this has made me feel bad about my army lol, at least my LRC looks almost as cool as yours :) . Â Great to see the revival of the "would you like to fight for my crusade". It reminded me to do my annual re-chek of the chaplain. Ended up re-reading the whole thread. I still remember the excitement and anticipation of waiting for my model, and the simple smack in the face with a thunder hammer shock of awesomeness when I saw it. And then I was lolling on all the marshal wilhelm jokes all over again, and seeing thirdeye's champion and just going, "nothing survives a hit from that", then picturing ghazgull, a titan, and a planet under the sword and the ensuing devastation. Goooooood times, very good times... It made me realize that the linky was no longer in my sig! Must have been lost when I was refreshing my profile. Put paid to that. Keep up the great work!
